    Mark, do yourself a favor and go to the search posts links. Type in "jump camera" or something to indicate the thread is about starting to jump camera. Read all the 100 jump wannnabe camera flyers responses and you will see why many of the more experienced camera flyers are a little blunt. I agree that we should take the time to explain why jumpers need more experience before adding a camera, but truthfully that question has been asked 100s of times. I guess we could all paste a reasonable reply in our clipboard so we won't tire of repeating ourselves. Or better yet we could refer them to Quades sticky in the photog forum as a starting place. Alas, I'm sure some overly sensitive types will feel that too is a personal attack on them and their "freedom". steveOrino

    So, I have an instructor at the DZ with 2000 jumps and no reserve rides. So I guess it could never happen. Are you saying a bolt and lock washer are as 100% as secure as a goldmember? He asked for an opinion, I gave mine. Why the smart ass response? steveOrino

    I really like my gold member. Easy access and I feel the camera is secure. No possible way for the camera to be knocked off a little bit to the side as with a bolt and washer. steveOrino

    Nobody! Brothers were named after family members ... me? nada! I thought I was adopted until I was 21 and saw my birth certificate (plus too much resemblance) I felt cheated. Each of my 4 kids have a family name and a unigue name. steveOrino

    Well, I'l be the ILO website does say that it records +R and +RW. Well, okay, how did it record over 150 (one and half spools) of -R?? This whole thing has me weirded out. I must be getting old. duh! Could it be? If it hadn't recorded at least 1/2 the spool I'd think I brain farted and just thought it recorded -R. edited to ad +++++++++++++++++++++++ Now I'm thinking. It was this Summer I hired an editor -- he would take the videos home to edit. Maybe he had a -R +R recorder at home. (he was taking DVDs from the spool home with him) He was gone during the Christmas break and that is when i tried to edit with the -R DVDs. I guess I am senile. Dang! at 51 too! steveOrino

    Truthfully, it not a problem per say. I mean, it does burn DVDs. Just curious on how it could have happened. steveOrino

    It is an ILO DVDR04 stand alone DVD burner (not a computer drive). I use SONY DVDs. We have three DVD burners at the DZ. The other two can use the media this one won't no longer read. I buy everything in bulk. I was about 1/2 way through the 100 stack of -R DVDs when it quit. We are still able to use the remainder of the -R DVDs on our other DVD burners. So, I'm sure it is not faulty media. You say it is not possible, but I have proof. My ILO DVDR04 now burns +Rs and +RWs. steveOrino

    I purchased an ILO DVD burner last year from Wally World. It would play any video, but only burn -R and -RW. One day the DZ after recording 100s of videos it quit reading the media. I cleaned it with one of those cleaners that have brushes on DVDs. It never recorded or recognized my -R media again. One day, I thought, what the hey, let's see if it will recognize a + disk. Someone had given me some +RW DVDs a while back. Low and behold it recorded on it. Today I went and bought some different -R DVDs and some +R DVDs. It still won't recognize the -R DVDS, but it recorded on the +R DVDS! What happened????!!! steveOrino

    over all look: Looks good to me, although I tend to go for a more whole graphic feel rather than an image with text. Look at some of the websites from www.resultswithstyle.com They build great websites. I get a lot of ideas from them. links: It is a good idea to have text links in addition to image links. Look at my own websites below to see what I mean by that. Some people have trouble with image links, so I always include text links as well. navigation: You were wise to stop using frames. They are a pain. Color: Dark, but I believe that is what you want, and it fits with your websites feel. However, if they have older monitors the images may be very dark, almost too dark to read. You could offset the image links with some lighter shadow color. A program like Fireworks make that very easy. steveOrino

    Why do people think those of us who have 100s or 1000s of jumps flying camera, and the only camcorder the majority of us have found to be reliable over any significant period of time is Sony, is being snobby when we tell you so? Like Andy said, buy it, then tell us what YOU think. steveOrino

    I was visiting Skydive Dallas a few years back and an older gentleman was making a tandem. He was wearing his class A khakis. An television crew was there interviewing him. The conversation went something like this ... Television crew asked, "You've jumped before, though, right?" He replied, "Yes." "When? they queried. "June 6, 1944" was his reply. My jaw dropped.
