  1. Are you being serious? That is like saying that the people that listen and comprehend Rush Limbaugh talk shows are likely of greater intelligence than those that whine about Rush Limbaugh talk shows but never listen to them. Or the people who read and comprehend Ann Coulter's books. Hey.... this is fun.
  2. With the politics of the far right that is championed so frequently.. What politics of "the far right" that ARE championed so frequently? You frequently bring up the threat of martial law becoming a reality and all of our constitutional rights being taken away. Do you have anything other that an out of context quote from 2003 to back it up? How about it, amazon?
  3. What would you consider right leaning, but not Ultra Right? I ask because your frequent response to posters offering a right leaning opinion is to paint them as an extremist rightwinger... kind of like that business of "either you're with us or you're with the terrorists".
  4. There .. fixed it for ya Oooo Is this like those "war supporters on here who believe that we have found Saddam's WMD's and that he was indeed involved in 9/11"? It seems some people believe if a claim is partially true (but also partially false) then it should be treated as being true. Personally, I'm a big fan of concepts like integrity, honesty and character.
  5. I just love this relativistic crap... condemning the smarmy behavior of those you dislike, while at the same time justifying the same behavior of those you like. Sleaze isn't conditional on political ideology.
  6. The end justifies the means, eh? IMO actively presenting deceptions, in order to sway opinions, is a big ole negative, when it comes to credibility.... But that's just me.
  7. Good to have a player willing to take one for the team, eh? Assuming he was in on it. Then again, you have previously made some pretty specious assumptions about him.
  8. That's the problem with picking news sources carefully. I saw no such massive agreement with war. It's not really about cherry picking news sources. Read the sections from January 2003 through April 2003. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_popular_opinion_on_invasion_of_Iraq
  9. In that 6 months UNSCOM and IAEA would have submitted final reports, making it very difficult for Bush to sell his WMD fairy stories to Congress and the US public. Speaking of fairy tales. You're saying that if the inspections had continued, and found nothing, that the American public and Congress would have still given Bush a blank check to start the war? I mean we're pretty knuckle headed bunch here in the States but I don't think we're that dense. Leading up to the invasion, I seem to recall a bunch of inspections concluding there were no WMDs. This was actually a major beef I had with the administrations claims - "If you guys are so sure about Saddam's WMDs, then tell the inspectors where they are and go get them." Instead, they amped up the rhetoric and sent the well-respected Colin Powell off to tell a tale of mobile labs heading off as UN inspectors approach. Given the mood of the country, at that time, I'm pretty confident the administration could have attacked six months later, with overwhelming support on the homefront.
  10. Well played. I'm humbled to be countered by someone with such a refined sense of internet forum acumen.
  11. As I clearly suggested, Bush isn't changing his mind 6 months later. Nor is the public. In that 6 months UNSCOM and IAEA would have submitted final reports, making it very difficult for Bush to sell his WMD fairy stories to Congress and the US public. Speaking of fairy tales.
  12. And the courts aren't trying to desegregate schools (effectively becoming Legislators) - and spies aren't being executed - and we are not standing by while a country on the other side of the globe causes the death of 14 million of it's citizens... or were you talking about a time other than the 1950s?
  13. Are you equally put out by all the other (non religious) channels that you have no interest in watching? I have yet to see ESPN or the Shopping Channel telling me that I'm a sinner and will burn in Hell for eternity. Of course, I may just have missed that bit. Selective indignation. LOL
  14. Just seems a bit hypocritical for a Canadian to rag on Americans for our consumption habits, when Canadians are no better.
  15. Budweiser isn't in Congress trying to get a constitutional amendment passed that would ban the purchase of Guiness, or the in home microbrewing of your own beer. What are you talking about?
  16. I was wondering the same thing. Charging someone for breaking a law, before is was a law, is absurd.
  17. Her claiming her kids dress up that way just to play with toy guns is pretty creepy... or just a lame excuse.
  18. What are you saying? That since we attacked a country that basically had done nothing against us and posed little eminent threat... that the supposed threat of WMDs was based on some selective intel, ignoring all the contrary intel... that this justification for invasion turned out to be utterly wrong... that four years later, this whole effort looks like an historic mistake (as in it will be in the history books for 100s of years)... that here we are four years later, with 100s of billions spent, not the mention the deaths and damage... that we have done massive damage to our world standing... that in light of all these factors we should steadfastly stand, in unity, in support of President Bush? Is that what your saying?
  19. Simple ... not invade Iraq. Do you know the meaning of context? Spin it anyway you want. No spin here. My question to Bill was in relation to a UN supported invasion of Iraq. You're the one who tried to make it about something different. Point that finger! hiss, hiss, grrr You talk about greed and need... does Canada really consume less oil than the US on a per capita basis?
  20. Which channels are you watching so that you get preached to 24/7? I don't know about the TVs up in Canada, but almost all TVs in the US allow you to delete the channels you don't care about, so you only see them if you manually key punch the specific channel. Are you equally put out by all the other (non religious) channels that you have no interest in watching?
