  1. It's not. They all had experience running state governments. While that didn't give them DC experience, it did give them critical "management" experience. It's funny to watch you guys act as if his limited experience isn't relevant. I like him, too. Hope he gets the nomination. But you guys acting as if his resume isn't lacking is laughable.
  2. I think his point was about overall experience in national politics, not just the smarmy underbelly of DC politics.
  3. Are you implying that (overall) armed US citizens would be completely ineffective against a rouge military?
  4. My point, which was implied earlier, is this issue (especially in the context of that article) is irrelevant to the OP topic. It never was relevant. While some posters may have tried to make it an issue, that dog don't hunt. The article you mentioned is all very interesting, but it has nothing to do with state funded, higher education. So what? It has to do with decision making. You take a very NARROW view of things when it suits you. Narrow view. I was just responding to your statement: "the free market is unlikely to work in situations like this." You seem so hard to track. On the one hand, you make a general claim (with a couple of conditions) about tax revenues not going up and then offer a NARROW fairyland scenario (none of which was mentioned in your initial claim) to justify it. Now you're claiming a point you made about "situations like this", was intended to be a general statement. You crack me up.
  5. Wow. An assumption, based on a lie. Good play. Wow, a dodge from having to address anything of substance. Colour me purple and call me Doris, I'm shocked I tell you. I notice you keep misrepresenting your role in all this. Feigning the high road. LOL

  8. Bullshit! On the one hand you have such a need for precision that you needed me to clarify what exactly the question I was posing in these posts was, and yet on the other hand you think that a link to the howstuffworks potted overview of evolution is a clear and concise explanation of the reasons you oppose it! There's your fucking hypocrisy. And for the record, I was asking you those questions out of genuine curiosity, not a desire to insinuate something. You should know that if I had wanted to call you a "mindless sheep" I would have just come out and said it. Too bad your over the top defensiveness has ruined another conversation. Right. It's me. Can't figure out why I'd be annoyed at questions and statements like: Lets face it, who but a doublewide dwelling couch potato high school dropout could possibly take seriously an piece which does not tackle any scientific ideas or challenge any experts, but instead interviews the layman off the street and shows a man gurning with a chimpansee before trying to take it on board a commercial flight? ---------------------------------------------------------- Me: There's the Jakee I know. Jakee: Tell me I'm wrong ---------------------------------------------------------- You seem to be labouring under the mistaken view that there is actually a serious debate to be had here - there isn't... With the kind of arguments that the anti science crowd present here there is no 'need' to resort to ridicule, it is simply the most fitting path to take. --------------------------------------------------------- Yeah, that was "Pandas and people" or something, wasn't it? And of course there was a trial back in the 80's I think where one of the expert witnesses for ID told the judge that UFO's were sent by God as harbingers of Armaggedon -------------------------------------------------------- Genuine curiosity indeed. Oh yeah. Your claim is BULLSHIT!!! It's really fun how people can be aggressive and condescending and then whine when others don't care to participate. I'm constantly amazed how people seem completely unaware of the impact of their own behavior. Yesterday, someone posted "A bigot is a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from their own." Does that apply here? Who is to say?
  9. Most people, regardless of there faith, don't take inflamatory insults too well. Back to the OP topic, there's a lot of guilt by association with both Muslims and Christians. People tend to judge any member by the worst behavior of those of the same faith. Bigorty based on bad stereotypes. Regarding that kind of behavior on this site, people offer some "interesting" rationalizations to excuse their bigotry. It is what it is.
  10. In one thread, one calls someone a bigot and it stands with no warning, but one pops up here? Same word, same forum, similar context, different response? I guess things are as I thought they were. [edited to add: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2886677;#2886677 Funny how that works.
  11. Do you really think which programs are chosen for state funded, higher education can be boiled down to a "free market" issue? See posts 5, 6,11, 32 of this thread (among others). I'll take that as a yes. How about you explain how which programs are chosen for state funded, higher education can be boiled down to a "free market" issue?
  12. What a load of fucking hypocrisy. You have warned (and even banned me for saying much less), yet you seem to think it's okay for you to make these little PAs. For the most part, I address questions head on. I answered several of Jakee's questions, all the way up until he started doing a little George Carman impersonation. You accuse me of ducking questions, yet you jump to the defense of those who consistently dodge questions... sometimes you have no clue what it is your defending!!! If you're going to penalize those who break the rules, you should try following them yourself.

  14. Oh. The "I can't help it if you're too stupid to see the obvious" school of persuasion. Worse! You said you could see the points but reject them cause you didn't care for my tone. Like some silly school girl stamping her foot, pouting and saying "Well! I didn't like her tone. She's wrong. The sun does not rise in the East." I'm not here to take you by the hand and lead you to the water. Drink. Don't drink, wander off in the distance. It's all up to you. I guess my point about the speaker giving up the high ground with a bunch of emotional, ideological blather applies to responses, as well.
  15. Oh. The "I can't help it if you're too stupid to see the obvious" school of persuasion.
  16. You obviously did not even bother to read the article. All aboard the bandwagon! ETA: Seriously, you're saying he's an evil Muslim terrorist that wants to kill you and you very obviously have no idea what he even said. Apparently, you're not too clear on what John said, either.
  17. If you'd just answer what typically starts out as a straightforward, civil request, we could avoid all this silliness. Of course, that might require you to own up to being wrong. Anything is possible.
  18. I aleady provided data on that one. Yeah. You provided a bunch of conditional factors (some quite absurd) to give an isolated situtation where your claim fit. As a stand alone statement, which is how you initially made it, the claim is complete bullshit... or, at best, unsupported. This latest ploy ranks right up there with you producing google results for colin powell my lai as proof he played an active role in trying to cover up the my lai massacre. It seems like every few weeks you make some bullshit claim that you won't defend or admit you got wrong. Hmm. Why is that?
  19. I see. It's a question built on a faulty premise. Stellar bit of critical thinking, mate.
  20. The central theme seems to be "Are you just a mindless sheep of the extremist fundies, regarding the subject of Evolution?" To that, the answer is NO.
  21. This type of vitriol does a good job of keeping more rational people out of the discussion. Seems like a few on this thread share the same level of ardor.
  22. For NcClimber. (Barrage of questions? More like variations on a theme I'd say.) Which question was it you wanted me to address?
  23. No. This would be an example of a far left wing over reaction and the parroting of such by ditto heads that don't know any better in an attempt to say "gottcha!" which then turns it into far right wing media attack. For information on the legality and "endangered" status of "Chilean Sea Bass" see; http://www.state.gov/g/oes/rls/fs/2002/8989.htm. Ha ha - looks like another "Where's my jet" thread. It was a question. Sorry you all seem so upset by it. Tissue?
