  1. As I explained, he didn't do an "about face" on Rumsfeld. Seemed more like you just tried to excuse it. Funny how people tend to not view a 180 as two-faced, if they like the end result.
  2. I officially name you blah blah blah Does this change the fact that you were wrong? No kidding? http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/calendar/page.cgi?g=Detailed/1385.html&d=1 You're just a font(sp?) of knowledge today. When Winston Churchill, a winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, referred to "the few" he was talking about more than two thousand pilots. Now pick on Churchill. Another classic Kallend diversion?
  3. As I've already stated "a few" times, the thread title was intended as hyperbole. Sorry you are having such difficulty with that bit of bait. What is the direction of this thread? That McCain is doing an about face on Rumsfeld and that the people who like his new sentiment now think he's a real standup guy and that there is nothing questionable about his two-faced behavior? What's the relevance? Oh yeah, if you wouldn't make misleading and incorrect posts, these kinds of digressions could be reduced.
  4. Didn't you know it is perfectly acceptable to apply racist labels to African-Americans who fail to overtly act in the best interests of African-Americans? Black tyrant... house slave... "Hitler had a lot of Jews high up in the hierarchy of the Third Reich. Color does not necessarily denote quality, content or value," High tech lynching, indeed.
  5. For some, it's easier to repeat "you're REALLY scraping bottom trying to pick a fight" over and over, rather than admit they were wrong.

  7. What does this have to do with whether or not you remember 1947 well? Another classic Kallend diversion?
  8. Hey Narc, No defense of Oh. That's right. You were wrong. Or did you think the Secretary of the Navy (pre-1947) was irrelevant?
  9. I remember it well, just a few decades ago. Remember it well? How old were you in 1947? Older than you, apparently. Considering you remember it well, I'm guessing you were at least four. Are you really 64? Or at least 63? Next month I shall be part of the SOS world record attempts at Lake Wales. More than that is private information. You do seem particularly reluctant to admit when you're just blowing smoke.
  10. Right? Two jobs were merged into one. Sounds like it was more than a mere change in title. And does anyone really consider 1947 a few decades ago? I remember it well, just a few decades ago. 11. 5 decades. That's more than a couple, but "several" seems like too many. "Few" appears to be the winner here. Five decades?

  13. And then there's the whole business about nicotene being an unregulated drug. I guess implementing government controls that would drive the cost of cigarettes up, would be counter-productive to tobacco tax revenues.

  15. For most of the US's history, the job title was "Secretary of War". It was only changed to "Secretary of Defense" a few decades ago. Try again.
  16. Nice contrast to last November, when he said: "While Secretary Rumsfeld and I have had our differences, he deserves Americans' respect and gratitude for his many years of public service" And since you're all gushy about McCain, what do you think about his opinion that we can succeed in Iraq with additional troops?
  17. The deficit is an annual accounting of the overall economy. The debt is a grand total of the economy and complete spending scheme. Did you come up with this all by yourself?
  18. Presently, I'd say it's true. I think any politician that has not been affiliated with any church in their adult life wouldn't be able to win the Presidency. Even if it was a non-issue for the candidate, the opposition would force it into the limelight. And that would be a huge negative to overcome. That said, I think a bunch of politicians attend church for solely for appearance purposes.
  19. That is good news, Bill. Having ALL countries share the burden in reducing emissions is the way to go. What's William Ury up to these days?
  20. Here's a new report: http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2007-02/osu-atd021207.php
  21. How generous of you to put the onus on me. Perhaps you can elaborate what you meant by trading "with the Africans for a fair and competitive rate for their goods" and selling them "the drugs and medicines they need for a fair and competitive rate"?
  22. Lot's of people in that wilderness with me. I think you are engaging in wishful thinking. If you say so.
