    Good point. Someone else made a good point about the less than objective way they measured the variables. Even when considering those shortcomings, it is still pretty disheartening to see that both the US and the UK sucked ass in just about every single category. At least those lads in the UK can look forward to all those smokin' hot British lass when they get older.

    Which was a response to NK aquiring centrifuges for processing highly enriched uranium, which could be used for building nuclear weapons. This was a blatant violation of an existing Non-Proliferation Treaty. Regardless of which president gets the blame or the credit for dealing with North Korea, it seems like all permanent agreements with that country are only temporary.

    I'm not so sure about that. It seems to me that the right does smearing and misinformation better than the left. Well, at least the smearing and misinformation that gets picked up and beaten to death in the "liberal" media. Don't kid yourself. Both sides view the other side as the worse offender.

    What specifically was Colin Powell charged with investigating? Did it require him to investigate ALL RUMORS of misconduct? Or just to look into the letter in question. Here are two possible FACTS - The My Lai incident was part of Colin Powell's investigation. The My Lai incident was not part of Colin Powell's investigation. Your guilt by association efforts are not factual proof of Colin Powell having a role in covering up the My Lai massacre. I wonder why you have not produced a single quote from a credible source, claiming what you claim? Not really.

I can't. They certainly have the power to hurt our economy badly if they choose to. Why would the Chinese want to hurt the buying power of their largest buyer? Ever hear of the word "inscrutible"? How cryptic.

    I think most economists don't see it in such black and white terms. I bring it up because people frequently go all "chicken little" when they hear trade deficit. It's just one piece of the puzzle that should be considered in the context of how a number of other factors are behaving.

    There now we have a better idea of what may have occurred. Investigating thoroughly is all part of being a competent officer. We KNOW he was a competent officer. We KNOW the Army tried to cover up My Lai and succeeded for a whole year, we KNOW Powell was a team player, we KNOW he was part of the process of investigating atrocities and we KNOW he wrote a report whitewashing his division. Waddles like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims like a duck, and you think it's an eagle. Perhaps we should arrest all the middle eastern men in this country, between the ages of 18 and 30, who have a strong Muslim faith and have spoken negatively of the US. Obviously, they're all terrorists.

My post addressed what I know (which is very little) of the handling of a single incident. You in turn try to make it about his general character.
