  1. Never mind the camera, where can I get a cool rig like that?!? ciel bleu, Saskia
  2. Well no, I get the slider also and have corrected the toggles error. Got some more coffee inside you now? ciel bleu, Saskia
  3. Anywhere you like the scenery You can do a tandem jump at every DZ. You just need an open DZ and decent weather. A lot of DZ's here are closed for winter untill april or so, although some are open during weekends out-of-season. ciel bleu, Saskia
  4. See my post above, they have 3. ciel bleu, Saskia
  5. Well we still have some 113's lying around... And a 126. 143's are hard to get. This shop in The Netherlands usually has plenty of Lightnings for sale: http://www.parachutecase.nl/theshop/artikel/mains/mains.html They have 11 right now (prices in euro's of course). ciel bleu, Saskia
  6. You ever got -just- toggles with a main? ciel bleu, Saskia
  7. Looks like a miniDV camera to me... ciel bleu, Saskia
  8. You need a medical here in The Netherlands if you want to jump by yourself for the first time, and you need to renew the medical every 2 years untill you have your B. TM's need a current medical too. ciel bleu, Saskia
  9. They may ask you for proof that you already owned it - they did with me twice Definately don't pack the invoices and stuff in the same bag... And don't put 5 new canopies into one tandem main container, they kinda figured out it wasn't supposed to be like that ciel bleu, Saskia
  10. I usually film the swoop comps like this: about 30m (100ft) away from the course sideline, at least 30m/100ft away from the gates - depending on who is swooping and wind conditions etc. If the goal is training, maybe stand inline with the gates, 30m out. No wide angle, no tripod. Camera set to manual focus at infinity. I do zoom quite a lot but really slow so usually it's hard to tell that I zoom, I try to keep the swooper and canopy the same size in the viewfinder. Other things to look out for: position of the sun, other people in the way (judges), if a carve, be on the inside (which put me in the water last comp...). Nice background is also nice. This gets standard video, for other shots you need to be at different places and may have to use a wide angle. I like to put a few tripods up close to the course with wideangle lenses and keep those camera's running. Gate video can also be really cool because it's at a straight line so it really shows the speed. Basically you need more camera people ciel bleu, Saskia
  11. Haven't jumped a prodigy so this is general wingsuit advice. If you're diving, you're using your legs but not your armwings. Usually people try too hard and thereby close the wings. Try leaving room for the armwing to inflate. Roll your shoulders forward, elbows slightly out, don't pull the wing taut. Enjoy. ciel bleu, Saskia
  12. And it is amazing how many get the hint and leave their main at home. Sparky You guys want people to leave their main at home? Over here, riggers will check the main too, as a courtesy, and you NEED to have the risers, pilotchute and bag with the rig otherwise it won't get it's yearly check signed off. Usually you get the main fieldpacked into the main tray, or they'll charge you a lot if you want it packed. Then again, we aren't really allowed to unhook stuff ourselves, here. I once got a talking to because I was hooking up a main. Now, I just do it anyway, and usually I know what I'm doing, although I did end up with a twisted riser once But that was totally my fault, and I still happily hook up canopies, put canopies on risers, change sliders, bumpers, links, pilotchutes, bags, whatever. Comes from doing CRW, mainly. I just try to avoid hooking up stuff on a 10 min call now Pity I really don't like packing, and can't sew..... Cause only riggers are allowed to do stuff like that, here ciel bleu, Saskia
  13. You need the A1 to downconvert from HDV recorded footage to DV. If the camera recorded DV already then you have no problem. I saw one HC1 that COULD downconvert, this could either be a fluke (it just seems to be different firmware!) or maybe all USA camera's don't have this problem. All European camera's do have this issue, and it was a real pain in the *%^ for some of the cameramen and for me during WorldTeam 2006, because they couldn't record HDV without losing too much time borrowing other camera's, too late for debriefing. ciel bleu, Saskia

  15. If your lenses match up now, you'll need to get a 19/1.6=12mm lens to match... ciel bleu, Saskia
  16. I was a 150 lbs exit weight student at one time (or still am, ). A 190 would've scared me for my first few jumps... But the 288 manta was too big (WL 0.45). In retrospect I'd have liked a 230 as a first canopy, which wasn't available at the time for pople without an A but we have a few now. I jumped a few student 230's (zp exe, icarus student canopy) later on for fun and for testing, and they were actually plenty fast compared to the 288 manta/280 skymasters. All our student canopies have longer steering lines so stalls without taking wraps are impossible. As it should be, IMO, for students. I think a 190 is small to start off with, 150 lbs isn't THAT light. After a few good landings, sure. But I'm no instructor. ciel bleu, Saskia
  17. 10 seconds? You really get that much time for a hopnpop? ciel bleu, Saskia
  18. Out of curiosity, how would you judge this? By having a judge at each set of 5 ft course markers. ciel bleu, Saskia
  19. Mmmmyes. I know a wingsuit instructor who tried to sell a skyflyer to a newbie wingsuiter (who had a grand total of 3 wingsuit jumps and ~220 jumps total), because he had one for sale ciel bleu, Saskia
  20. Hey Gary, dontcha need a website or something? I just discovered I need some cash for new toys ciel bleu, Saskia
  21. Yes that's what I mean. Those things look great. But, USD 140 for my D70s ciel bleu, Saskia
  22. I saw a catalog with some very cool quick release bracket thingies that could both be used for regular mounting and for 90 degree angle mounting. They were made specifically for each camera. And of course I can't remember the brand ciel bleu, Saskia
