  1. The Omni is more HP than the Omega and not recommended for low jump numbers, then the Omega is a better choice. ciel bleu, Saskia
  2. Did you try to do handle checks? ciel bleu, Saskia
  3. An older Atom size 1 would also work if you can find one. Look for tucktabs on the risers, good main pin and bridle protection, BOC deployment, and maybe add a crw flap to prevent the reserve flap opening when flying head-up. Older javelins, vectors etc can be used for freeflying after some mods. Did you ask a rigger about modding your zerox? ciel bleu, Saskia
  4. Stepping down is never a good choice Stepping up shouldn't give a problem, but you never know. Be sure to check the footage on a pc too, as vignetting doesn't always show up on a tv. ciel bleu, Saskia

    160 ft2?

One reason: our canopy rules. Sometimes people allowed to jump say a 150 have trouble jumping a 149 at some dz's (not at all dz's). Ordering a 150 takes care of that problem ciel bleu, Saskia

    160 ft2?

What would be wrong about going to a 160 from a 170? ciel bleu, Saskia

    160 ft2?

Icarus will make just about any size for you, and Aerodyne makes the Triathlon in size 160. ciel bleu, Saskia
  8. You mean a chapter per clip, not per frame I think? Otherwise you'd get 25 or 30 chapters each second You can capture video with clip detection, adobe premiere pro can do this for instance> That way you get a seperate avi file for each clip (provided you use the timecode on your camera). You can then use Nero Vision or similar to create a dvd with chapters for each clip. ciel bleu, Saskia
  9. Please ask your own instructor about that. ciel bleu, Saskia
  10. I did the Dutch Swoop Tour 2005 DVD on those (Ritek), I like ' em. Holographic, no, but they do look more professional imo. Same as with regular printables there are differences in how far the top layer goes, mine goes all the way to the hole but some others I've seen leave a big circle in the middle, doesn't look as nice imo. ciel bleu, Saskia
  11. D'oh I shouldn't have done my one jump this weekend filming my FS4 team, I should've just gone wingsuiting..... Was going backwards with my spectre 135 and 4.5 kg of lead ciel bleu, Saskia
  12. In no way were the ribs in my way when I pulled. Haven't heard from anyone else that there are either. Maybe you need to learn to fly the big wings first without adding ribs ciel bleu, Saskia
  13. Me, while chasing my team around the sky this afternoon ciel bleu, Saskia
  14. but you can before you put it on? You SHOULD before you put it on ciel bleu, Saskia
  15. In Thailand they had to turn off all the AAD's when goin down with the plane (after pressurization problems). If you shrug out of your rig a bit usually someone else can turn the AAD on or off if it's on your back. Except for the one Vigil the guy couldn't rightly see and turned it back ON again, result, poof. So maybe getting out of the rig would've been smarter here... We also had an Argus for testing/datalogging purposes that was in the lead pocket of a Javelin. So when peeps were turning each others AAD off, Henny just grabbed behind his back and pulled the Argus out, wires cutter and all. "Here, it's turned off now!" "But but but but .... You are not supposed to do that!!!!!" ciel bleu, Saskia
  16. What special handle? And not used otherwise, hmmm, then we'd still be jumping bungee pilotchutes, nah I presume all changes are rigger approved, so we'll make up our own mind about not wanting the LOR system thank you.... Like Peter Liemberg said, there is probably a reason us Dutchies don't jump it, even if the French DO ciel bleu, Saskia
  17. If you check our profiles you see that Liemberg and I are not from the USA We do modify those Atoms here in the Netherlands! And Belgium, and probably other places too. Like I said before. I don't think PdF even SELLS in the USA. I totally agree with you however that the the USA is not the center of the world OTOH = on the other hand ciel bleu, Saskia
  18. Sometimes. I did it a few times at the riggers' loft so I could leave the rig there and not have to lug it around. I also pulled my reserve in the air a few times, with an extra reserve of course. Usually now I just hand in the rig packed. ciel bleu, Saskia
  19. Paypal is easiest, and works fine over here, otherwise creditcard, or cash if we can arrang something with jumpers going to/from the States (or wherever). I have never transfered money to/from the States by bank/wire whatever, but from Thailand, Eastern Europe etc bank transfers work fine too. Cheques are also ok but kinda costly over here to use. ciel bleu, Saskia
  20. Yeah I know, I'm from over there And I got 2 Atoms myself. However apperantly besides on Ameland most Atoms here have been de-LOR-ed. We only have sports Atoms on our DZ, no student gear and no tandems. Apperantly sports jumpers here don't want the LOR. Or our riggers don't I don't know. But has been a long time since I saw one. ciel bleu, Saskia
  21. Whenever I get a PM or a response to a forum message, I end up with 3 emails saying so. I use Outlook 2003 and have a lot of rules set, weirdly enough 2 of the mails go to one folder (depending on which account I use) and one goes to the skydiving folder I want it to go. Changing email accounts on dz.com doesn't work. Dz.com mail is the only mail that does this. Replies to advertisements work normally though. I have a forwarding account that I checked, only the one copy of each message ends up there so presumably dropzone.com works fine the problem is on my end. WTF? Could use some tips here! ciel bleu, Saskia
  22. Does a 2 pin setup like this require a 2 pin AAD? ciel bleu, Saskia
  23. If you can't pick it up yourself or have someone take it with him, send it from a person not a business. If you're buying from a dealer they will usually not put a lower value on the package. If you ship from the dealer to a person in the States to you, that person can put a way lower value on the package and send the bill separately. Then if you have to pay import duties (and for us Dutchies, just about EVERY package get taxed these days, don't know if its the same for you guys) you pay much less. You also have to pay taxes and import duties over shipping costs BTW. ciel bleu, Saskia
  24. I wonder why. The only downside I can immediately see in the double loop system is that it's apparently a complete bitch to pack. Don't know if they made any changes but the older LOR lanyards were pretty wide and very yellow, so underneath your reserve flap it looked very busy and very weird if you're not used to it. Maybe that's all the reason someone needs? More stuff = more chances of stuff going wrong? ciel bleu, Saskia
