  1. I'm afraid you can't/shouldn't mount a docking station, top- or otherwise, and most smaller Sony's come with a docking station these days. All the people I know with these cameras do indeed have to take it off the camera each time Sighting is not a problem of course, since they use either a quick release or a screw to hold it in place. It IS a hassle. You can always try ebay or similar and find a 2nd hand non-docking station camera, I hate docking stations ciel bleu, Saskia
  2. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/johnret/150406022.jpg Fixed it for you Try using the url button below the post. Inline images don't work here. BTW hey I know that plane ciel bleu, Saskia
  3. Even IF your AAD fires in the situation you describe, which is not bloody likely, chances are good you'll be able to land the resulting 2 canopies or main-canopy-plus-freebag just fine. ciel bleu, Saskia
  4. What do you mean by "stab" the brakes? Going to deep brakes really quick, for a short period of time. Hands up - down - up - grab front risers and pull. ciel bleu, Saskia
  5. Yes it also works on front risers, however most sports canopies have diveloops (or blocks) which makes this unnecessary. On manta's however I got this to work, even though it didn't dive worth a damn Oh yeah, a tip for making frontrisering much easier: stab the brakes first, then quickly pull in your fronts while the canopy is still recovering there will be much less pressure. ciel bleu, Saskia
  6. Have you tried grabbing the risers with your thumb pointing downward, followed by rotating your hands back to thumb-up? That works for me on big canopies and/or slippery riser/glove combinations etc. Maybe tacky gloves might also help a bit? ciel bleu, Saskia
  7. If you mean "jump without an accompanying instructor or jumpmaster" in The Netherlands an "A" is sufficient. If you mean "jump without any instructor anywhere on the ground or in any way responsible" you need a "C". http://www.parachute.nl/fileadmin/knvvlpa_upload/pdf/BR2005.pdf (in Dutch) ciel bleu, Saskia

  11. I'm not holding my breath, Koppel - don't forget I can read your signature line... *** me,me,me and the rest can die... What ever could he mean by THAT?! Actually it's: me me me and the others can choke, meaning: me me me and forget about the others. No comments on what he means by that ciel bleu, Saskia
  12. Student gear should be able to take a few tumblings. That's what students DO. If you hold a sit for a long time, not such a good idea, because then the velocity goes up. But a sit exit, or any kind of exit, shouldn't be a problem. If it is, you need new student gear! ciel bleu, Saskia
  13. The extra harnass I jumped with twice has a round belly reserve. You need to manually deploy the round, the old fashioned way, no pilot chute. You need to deploy this canopy into clean air. You cannot get rid of your reserve in case it malfunctions so now you have 2 canopies, one malfunctioning square attached to your shoulders and one hopefully okay round attached to your belly. Good luck. It's never SAFE. Also because of the round I had to change my emergence procedures from 2 hands on each handle to one on each since I couldn't reach round the damn thing. An added complication. There should be better setups than this one but I doubt anyone could ever call a 3 canopy setup "safe". You're better off demoing a reserve setup as a main, in most cases, IMO. My particular reserve doesn't come as a demo or with a pilotchute attachment point and had opened iffy when I needed it once so I jumped it on purpose. It was fun, but I was mighty glad I didn't have to deploy that round as I never have jumped a round before either. ciel bleu, Saskia
  14. Electra reviews: http://www.dropzone.com/gear/Detailed/292.html Atom reviews: http://www.dropzone.com/gear/Detailed/291.html Atom size chart: http://www.parachutes-de-france.com/sources/html/clients/fr/produit_t/97.html Scroll to the bottom, can't get the english link to work What reserve is in the rig? The 150 main/128 reserve combo (Atom 00) seems to be very popular, but may not be the smartest idea The Atom is made in standard harness sizes, L1 - L4, with L1 being the smallest. Atom have reversed risers, if you're not used to thes they may look funny ciel bleu, Saskia

  20. We just had a technical bulletin come out: http://www.parachute.nl/tb200602.html (in Dutch). Basically it says to change the new design reserve top flap to the old: http://www.parachute.nl/fileadmin/knvvlpa_upload/pdf/2006-02_Odyssey_Procedure_Flap_replacement.pdf ciel bleu, Saskia
  21. Well I have no clue how it works on your side of the pond. But indeed, over here we transfer money to others on a regular basis this way. It's perfectly normal. How do you guys do it if you can't reveal the numbers?!? To PAY with someones account you need the card and a personal code, or when online there are various ways of proving you are who you say you are, either with a list of codes or a card scanner, stuff like that. Creditcards are another matter, but you hand out your creditcard numbers to others too right? At least to businesses. From our point of view, it's safer to give bank account numbers than creditcard numbers that's for sure. ciel bleu, Saskia
  22. And what about if this student has been taught to always cutaway? How does he know FOR SURE there's no pilotchute out? Was he taught a hard deck for just pulling reserve? You may just have screwed up his thinking. With so few jumps, a student needs to listen to his instructors. PERIOD. ciel bleu, Saskia
  23. Not long after the spambots get it... (Edited e-mail address) t That email address is already on the 'net, is where I got it too. ciel bleu, Saskia
