  1. We take kids from 10 years and up at our DZ, with some kids from 6 years or so (dz kids). We have 2 small harnesses, so if they fit and if they really want to go (and not being pushed by parents for instance) they can. Taking a kid for a tandem jump is a difficult jump for the T/M though, with more risks of a sidespin or ending up on your back. So our beginner T/M's can't take kids. Every kid I ever saw jumping LOVED it
  2. I tried that last year at Xmas, Ryanair. Had to check in the rig before boarding the plane on the way back was pretty pissed about it, because others WERE allowed in with their rig on their backs on this same flight And mine was in a stashbag too. On the way over it wasn't a problem ciel bleu, Saskia
  3. There was at least 1 person jumping it during Extreme Week Norway, so it's in my video (that's still not ready yet, sue me, we had Nationals last week ) I saw two of the test canopies in the last year or two, the first was not so good but the 2nd one looked fine and the ones in Norway were production models. ciel bleu, Saskia
  4. I know a jumper that had the same thing happen to her, and she was wearing gloves too! ciel bleu, Saskia
  5. I jump my Nikon D70S on aurofocus when doing wingsuit jumps yes whenever i turn the camera on the autofocus keeps going (i'm using stereo bite/tongue switches from conceptus) plus the lightmetering. If I shoot manual the light metering keeps going. So you have to watch your batteries a bit more. But it still shoots at 3fps for as long as I want it to... No clue about the pro mouth switch. But you definately need a stereo plug if you want to shoot autofocus, and you also need a stereo plug if you have a Canon 300D/digi rebel (even when shooting manual focus) because otherwise it won't clear it's buffer as fast. ciel bleu, Saskia
  6. Do a search, we've talked about that a couple times. ciel bleu, Saskia
  7. Maybe just a bad disk? I had trouble one time with VE because I had some conflicting codecs installed (do NOT instaal ANY codec pack ), but that gave a very different error log... You could just burn the DVD to a folder first and then burn it to DVD with Nero Burning Rom ... ciel bleu, Saskia
  8. Well it will let you create a dvd on a disk or harddrive. You cannot save a single video file to a single vob file AFAIK. So you create an avi for VE or avi/mpg4 (saves re-coding time) for Encore, and use those to create the final dvd. ciel bleu, Saskia
  9. You need a DVD authoring program. Adobe Encore will do this (stay away from version 1) but Nero Vision Express is much easier. Other manufacturers offer similar programs (Ulead etc). Newer versions of Premiere will also burn to DVD. ciel bleu, Saskia
  10. Get a raynox hd lens (the .3 is called HD3030) ciel bleu, Saskia
  11. No CF Not enough teams on the days we were allowed to jump. ciel bleu, Saskia
  12. Yeah we have to pay taxes over 2nd hand stuff too, and also over the shipping costs ciel bleu, Saskia
  13. At work we have something called a Beetle, it's a shuttle-like computer with a graphics card that outputs to 4 lcd screens (plus the regular monitor), we display graphics and html pages and videos that way (2x2 is best, 4 different displays esp moving ones are kinda much for the system). ciel bleu, Saskia
  14. I hope you are not mistaking about the function of an rsl. This statement makes me think that you believe that the rsl will perform a cutaway for you if you pull the reserve. Please tell me this is not what you think. I'm thinking she means 'arch after pulling reserve', and 'if you have an rsl, arch after performing your cutaway' because the reserve will be out before you pulled the reserve yourself thus your arch would be late ciel bleu, Saskia
  15. Mmmm JC is PD Team now Pity I had to leave earlier, didn't see much of the BASE stuff. Didn't see any (skydiving) wingsuiters at all although I heard there were 3 or so.... ciel bleu, Saskia
  16. So, file>new>title create title with logo's, text etc close title when ready, it'll show up in the bin on the left place title on timeline (on top) finished ciel bleu, Saskia
  17. The xfire will have a lot of forward speed you need to get rid of, plus because it's wider, if you're in the burble of a stack, the endcells have no/less burble, which doesn't fly very well. also the openings are slow so you'll end up much lower than than the rest. A crw canopy is much better, otherwise a regular tri/spectre etc but these open much slower which can be a problem. ciel bleu, Saskia
  18. The swoop competition during the EkstremSportVeko in Voss Norway 2006 has finished. After a dreary sunday setting up the course on the same golf course as last year, monday was cloudless and hot and sunny. Tuesday we had one weather hold but still, decent weather, I got major sunburn to show for it.... The finals on tuesday were shown live on national tv, and of course there are the today's movies in the party tent every night, which shows daily highlights of all the sports, really really cool! Results: 1.Jonathan Tagle, USA. 2.Jay Moledzky, Canada. 3.Jeff Provenzano, USA. 4.Hans Christian Amlie, Norge. 5.Alastair Macartney, GB. 6.Shea Convery, Irland. 19. Ditto, I can do it but I'd like some more details on what it is you want. ciel bleu, Saskia
  20. With 10 flyers we made plenty of jumps, taking full advantage of the good weather. Some pictures here: http://www.paracentrumteuge.nl/index.php?option=com_datsogallery&Itemid=468&func=viewcategory&catid=18 Marli made her first-ever dock, Marius got some bigway experience, Garritos' Firebird finally got photographed, Costyn got to borrow an S3 , Jarno did some jumps WITHOUT camera, I got to jump my new suit 10 times, Henny managed to get ONE wingsuit jump in, Rob got to chase formations, Johan decided to hang out in the camera spot, and we got an S-Fly in the formation for the first time. All in all, I had a nice weekend ciel bleu, Saskia
  21. Here's a map of all Dutch DZ's, with links to their websites: http://www.parachute.nl/paracentra.html Amsterdam is not shown but if you draw a rectangle with KNVvL, Rotterdam and hilversum, Amsterdam makes the 4rth corner. Sort of LOL. Teuge and the 2 Texel dz's are the biggest and are open full time, the smaller ones are not. Teuge is 1hr away from Amsterdam, by train. ciel bleu, Saskia
  22. Staying in the burble is the easiest way to stay with a 4way stack, I could usually even keep up with a team flying at a wingload of 2 when I was jumping 1.3 although that was pretty hard and not advisable LOL. If you don't jump a wideangle you can't stay in the burble! Just get close, you shouldn't interfere with rotations, or if you do, the jumpers are doing something weird like rotating over the back ciel bleu, Saskia
  23. I chopped a similar mal, was reaching for the risers to try and clear it (I was at 3500ft or so) then it started to turn and i just chopped it without thinking about it any further. I think I had about 300-350 jumps at the time. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1984 ciel bleu, Saskia
