  2. Such a feature would rock though...would mean other mods dont have to step in to unlock threads some mods decided to censor and keep clean for their own benefit, and would actually make everyone posting equals Its easy to talk down to people.....but make sure the same rules apply to every post thats being read, watched and/or kept clean to actually validate whats being said.... 3. Im a big fan of Juan Car's English, it makes reading much more fun. Dont mind Gábor too much, he is famous for complaining...must have sand up his vagina or something JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. Im editing 2 videos side by side...one of our flocking weekend in Belgium, the other on the N4S stuff. The sad thing is, even though we have some awesome footage from our flocks, it all looks very pale, simple and silly compared to the tree-buzzing stuff But yea...soon is soon...but never soon enough... 5. Cant you rent like a Navigator 280 or something, so you can land on one foot JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Most dont...they just select the text with their cursor, rightclick and choose> go to URL. Most browsers also support this feature JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. I did that once (sadly had no other option) after tearing a shoulder muscle. If there is one thing worse than not being able to fly, its being there and watching others fly.... Still would be great if you could hang out, feed everyone GoFast bubble-gum and talk crap during packing etc. Maybe shoot some cool ground to air video? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. Was also posted on wingsuitnews.com I see you had fun, and also got to fly with my teammate Alejandro JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. And from the sound of things, we now also have a Canadian team added to the list! (as well as several nameless French teams.) Also noteworthy: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4087287;#4087287 JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. Soulac Sur Mer will be host to the 4Fun Summer Boogie again this coming year! Its perfectly timed, one week before the Intl. Artistic Wingsuit Competition in Gap. The Dropzone in Soulac is close to the beach, so next to skydiving there is also a lot of surfing, swimming etc possible. There are parties, DJ etc. And a lot of stuff happening on the campsite next to the DZ. Alejandro of FlyLikeBrick will be doing LO and 1 on 1 coaching (with me maybe jumping in here or there if needed, and otherwise attending the boogie as a funjumper/guest), so teams looking for some competition specific training on aerobatics are invited to spice up their flying! For more info, see airboss.nl JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Another quick snapshot, taken just after exit....its not high exit points I tell ya! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. I just received a batch of footage from last weekend from Jean-Noel, Robert, Ludo and friends of the Need4Speed team...and daayummm.. Im hoping to have the edit finished before the end of this week. You people are in for a treat...in terms of short exits, fast flying and snowy treetop skimming, this is as good as it gets! Breathtaking low (long and fast!) mountain swoops! Some of the exit altitudes (or lack of altitude is a better wording) will make you scream like a girl! Stay tuned for more! My hands are itching to finish this baby and hit 'upload'. Attached some 'free samples' to get the juices flowing JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Personaly Im not the biggest fan of intentional spins, thinking you're also not packing intentional malfunctions into your main to learn how to deal with those. I do think a lot of practice with barrelrolls, frontloops and other in-air shenanigans gives a person a great body awareness and ability to recover from almost any type of instability. As DSE also mentioned, the traditional 'balling up' method doesnt collapse all the armwing thats on the body/outside of the leg, and thus can still keep the momentum going in a spin. Grabbing ankles when balling up does collapse all wing, and is a good update to that technique. Making your recovery a 3 step proces 1. Arch (fly out of it!) 2. Ball (grab ankles! Spin stops, fly out of it) 3. Deploy (pull main, better at 6000ft with 20 linetwist on your main, than 500ft and 20 linetwists on your reserve) We made this video with some examples JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. So far jumps on the same location in France, show the Venom doing similar speeds as other 'big wing' designs. Taking roughly 5 to 10 seconds more to pass the same point (tree) thats normaly at the 18 to 22 second mark. Which indicated the V4 being almost 1/4 faster. The speeds seem comparable to the fwd speeds flown in the V3. Only showing increased glide, so passing the same point higher (also related to the much faster start). With a big tailwind the Venom seems to fly further, yet in no wind/upwind situations the V4 so far seems to fly further by quite a large margin. The larger wing of the Venom and comparable big-wing designs make for a bigger surface that not only slows down the vertical speed, but also adds a lot of drag to the forward speed. Jump out of the plane with a 3 meter flag/tube, and jumps out of a plane with a 5 meter flag/tube. You'll note the increased size presents more drag, and slows down the jumper more. We're seeing a similar effect on these bigger suits. The higher speeds make the V4 a lot more agile and give the pilot a lot more visual feedback related to the glide-angle over low terrain. The higher speed also gives a flyer more range when it comes to flaring out of a tight corner. Which is one of several reasons Robert/JNO etc prefer that one for base. Jokingly the Venom and V4 are refered to as the 'Cruiser' and the 'Lamborgini' in the product line, related to their different flying speeds and handling characteristics. 15. Jii-Wings is actually the one that should be credited for that. The GS1 already had those in 2006/2007 (and probably the sugarglider before that). Birdman also briefly used a similar cell setup on the Blade/Firebird in the last series of the suit. (Though they simplified it by not adding a cell-wall in between, and effectivly killed the last 15 cm of the wing, as the stitching pushed it shut.) The V4 will most likely not feature this setup. Next weekend we're testing some new legwing designs as well that dont feature this half cell setup. Testing shows its the cleanest way to get airflow over the last part of the legwing, which has several advantages related to burble/pull. And the bulge the deflector creates cleanly connects with the rig, making for a smooth airflow over the whole back, again also aiding in a much cleaner pull/deployment. The reason no other suits in the PF line-up use the system, is that the V3/V4 are designed for performance only, and thus dont feature backflying inlets (which would not allow for the back deflector design, and would mandate a design more similar to the one found in the phantom etc) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  20. Didnt those mostly seem to be on your own threads? Joking aside...moderation is always a delicate balance. You dont want to have things go to shit, but you also dont want to turn into China, and turn moderation into censorship.. That said, its easy to sit and point fingers. But some of the people throwing poop here and there are the same people that are out there actively flying and doing a lot of other stuff that makes the sport and this forum a good place to learn as well. I dont think there is a single thread on this forum (not now, not 8 years ago) that doesnt have some degree of thread drift. Its sad to often see it go the same direction again and again. But similar to 'do I REALLY need 200 jumps, he had 85 and did okay' I dont think its the last we will ever see of it here. Much like music and fashion...its an ever repeating cycle.. Enjoy it for the good things, and ignore the bad ones.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. Actually in flare, we have reached that point. But the forward speed, timing and method of stopping are the obstacles. The vertical speed is the ONE thing that isnt. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. Performance competition: If everyone wants to collect money to get Klaus over there with the whole bag of toys. For sure its possible. But maybe better to plan a seperate event for that one, as its quite a lot to squeeze into one event/location. The option of high altitude and night wingsuit jumps was already mentioned a few times..for sure a lot of cool things will happen! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. Coming soon, is a date not yet communicated. But give DSE a shout via PM or call and he may be able to accidently tell you more..even though he cant And wont.. But yea... Man..so many cool events happening in April..wonder if Robi may premiere something here or there at one of those US events he is attending... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. Even if it was temperature...20's is quite nice for us a**holes who are on the metric system JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
