On my home dropzone, we sometimes attach our main backwards, so we can jump when the winds are up to 32 to 35 mph hour. This makes landing easyer, as you're still facing forward, and you dont have to run backward like an idiot. This had me thinking about about doing wingsuit jumps in insanely high winds as well. Anyone know what the opening would be like when the parachute was attached backward? Would gladly get some tips and info *edit* I know that the spot is quite important in these kind of winds, but I think it wouldnt be to hard opening on the right spot, as I'd have the canopies of previous jumpers as a good guide... Does this mean that the camera shoots 4 times as many frames per second? Or does it just digitally extend the time by displaying each frame four times as long, or does it digitally "fill in" the 3 extra frames with some sort of digital morphing technology? I dont know how the function is triggered, or when and how it goes back to normal filming. But from the samples I've seen so far, the camera actualy seems to shoot extra frames. The only 'but' being, that it shoots them at 1/4 resolution of HDV (so the extra frames fit in the same bandwidth, tapewise..as the camera doesnt speed up the tape for slowmo's, which would make full-res slowmo's possible). So the Slowmo's are on DV-res (and even then look a little blurry) but they look amazing, and unlike anything we've seen so far. I think it wil be especialy cool for people in base, as 3 seconds is about all you need for any slider up type of jump (just have to get the timing right) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I think it depends on how high you value your jumping. Imagine this: After the horrific accident with the space-shuttle...had somebody come up to you, and offered you a ride into space in the next shuttle, even though there was a 99% chance it would go wrong again. The extreme slow-mo option on the camera is what has me most excited btw. Too bad it doesnt seem to go beyond 3 seconds (resulting in a 12 second slowmo). That would be awesome if you could record a whole dive like that. And already proved myself wrong by reading a few more specs. Seems that the stills option shoots 4 MP stills if you use it without video, and 2 MP stills during video...which should indicate that it definately doesnt screw up the video Its just that I had a DV camera from JVC a few years back that also claimed to shoot video and stills at the same time in the initial press-release...while it didnt when I finaly got it... Now let them work on creating a slowmo option that lasts at least 60 seconds for the next camera someone doing it as a hobby Professional> someone who is doing it as his profession (payd) Having expensive stuff doesnt make you a professional, and you can also have professionals who work with the cheepest camera's you can find... When you see the few tiny, less then 1mm thick screws, that are all whats holding your camera in place, you'll probably want to rethink getting rid of your D-Box. I dont think the camera allows for simultanious use of the video and still option. It will probably be like most videocamera's with stills function, you lose a few seconds of video when you shoot a still. Although I could be wrong...but I have to see it first before I believe it JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The Classic I/II from Birdman is also a common beginner-suit, that can be picked up second hand quite easy and at cheep prices too (I've seen them sold for 200 to 250 euros, 2nd hand) It's a bit funny that a design that was called advanced a few years back, is now 'merely' a beginner-suit JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

3dsmax (but also used maya in the past) This is an other (game-res) model I made a while ago. The program you use doesnt matter that much..the technique is always the same..(a bit like working with clay) Quite a few people have asked for the wingsuit model, but the model is being used for a project (not this base game), so sorry about not sharing that one just yet..but you'll like what the thing its being used for.. small update on the canopy (with steering lines and temp. texture) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I know about slider off packjobs, but do you know about vertex', double sided faces, polygons and smoothing normals? (yeayea..nerd! written on my forehead) I'm just modeling a complete canopy for now. Any slider off modifications/mesh-slider variations can always be made later JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
