Cartagena Colombia. The beaches aren't the most beautiful but they're nice. There's a lot of history there, really beautiful buildings and a cool old Spanish castle that's like nothing you've ever seen. Lots of little islands around there and boat rentals are easy to come by. Aside from the touristy sight-seeing stuff, there's lots of nice clubs with a good mix of Colombians and gringos in the evenings, some really chilled out cafes, the place is paradise. It's growing in popularity, but the stereotype that Colombia's nothing but guerrillas and coke has kept it from becoming super-touristy like Aruba. You could probably rent an apartment in the old side for a few months for less than $1K, or if you want to save $$$ there are plenty of hostels. There's no skydiving that I know of in Bolivia at all. There was a place in Santa Cruz but I talked to a buddy who runs a flight school at the same airport last week, and the jump plane hasn't been there in months. I think Lima is the closest place to jump, with Collique just north of the city, but they only jump on Sundays and you'd be lucky to get 4 jumps so it's not really worth flying there. For a bit of money you could fly to Buenos Aires, Asuncion or Sao Paulo for a weekend of jumping. I'm working with a couple of guys from La Paz right now, if you need any info on the place let me know. I got nuthin

I've only made about 50 in the past year. I just looked at my logbook and realized I went 14 months without jumping in 2006-2007. Now I realize why I was so depressed for all that time! I got nuthin -

I just got cut off talking to a friend in Mexico City on Skype and I can't buy more credit cause I've reached my monthly maximum. To call a cell in Mexico on Skype it's like $.33/minute (It's over double that to call long distance from my cell out of North Mexico). Is there any other VOIP provider that's got good rates and good quality? I looked at Cheapvoip.com but their rates aren't that much better (good enough that I'll make the switch though). If anybody knows of a better choice that's got good quality and I can trust with my credit card number please pass it on. I got nuthin

That was awesome! I bet dude with the camera had some serious pucker-factor when Momma showed up. We get a lot of moose at my folks' place in the winter time when there's snow in the mountains, but by the time the babies come around there's enough food up there that we don't see them come down to the town too much. I got one jump at Skydive Colombia about 3 weeks ago. We left Bogota and flew to Flandes, jumped in and then the Caravan broke down. Have you ever seen 28 Colombian skydivers shitfaced at 10am? I think it was funner than a day of jumping would've been. I got nuthin

I've got a company pickup that has the factory deck locked up. It's a Chevy half-ton with a CD/AM/FM. Apparently after the truck battery was changed a while ago, the truck went into 'theft mode' and it doesn't let you do anything without a code. Nobody at work knows anything about the code and I want music DAMMIT! Anybody know how to unlock this thing? I got nuthin

I made one a few years ago just by cutting two slits in beer coozy. It works alright but I wouldn't trust it for deployment, I always hold my 'soda' in my hand until I'm open and then use the coozy to free my hands up for a control check, tag the toggles on the velcro and then it's bottoms up. I got nuthin

In response to your claims of troll on chuteless, his name is Bill Cole and he's an (in)famous Canadian skydiver and not a troll. I'm a Canadian and not willing to follow my government to arms, but I tend to agree with Bill as much as I respect the balls he's shown in his skydiving career (which is a helluva lot). edited for grammar I got nuthin
