Please allow me to introduce myself...(sorry Mick)

I love your stories posted on the thread, "scary stories from the old days". Got any more stories? http://3ringnecklace.com/ -

Ok I'm going to comment on the original subject of this thread--- I played the flute for ten years. I no longer play anymore. When I was in DC once, I heard this street musician playing the flute. I stopped and listened a little bit. I could tell that he was good- much better than I ever played. I gave him all of my cash, which was about $6, and I would have given him more if I had more cash. And this was at a time when I was quite poor myself. But I KNEW from listening to him that he was an excellent flutist. http://3ringnecklace.com/

Ok, you asked for my 2 cents, here it is: Wearing a boogie bracelet after the boogie is over says to me that this person is a low timer is trying to act like they are trying to impress other people because they went to a boogie. It's like those people who do one tandem and they wear a closing pin necklace all the time. Sorry if that's a harsh answer- I don't mean to hurt any feelings- http://3ringnecklace.com/

Welcome to skydiving! Glad to hear that there is another potential candidate out there- Just to let you know, it will probably take more than a few days to pass AFF. there can be many hiccups along the way- weather, shortage of instructors, $$$, enough time, gear available, injury, fail a level and have to repeat it, etc... This is not an overnight process. Expect it to take a little longer than a few days. The first jump course itself takes a half a day to a full day. Blue skies to you!

Hello from Killeen Texas!! Glad to hear that you are repaired and back in the air. Stay safe and don't do anything stupid like kill yourself. Hahaha...no, seriously, don't. http://3ringnecklace.com/

I hit a major milestone this past weekend - I fit into size 8 jeans!!!! Currently, I go to spinning class 2x a week, Body Pump 1-2x a week, plus extra cardio and weights. My habit of going to the gym 5x a week is paying off, but I can't seem to lose any more weight (it's not my diet- believe me I eat well). I would like to keep losing though. But I have started running again, which is a major step for me. It has been 5 years since my last knee surgery (I've had both acls replaced) and finally I can run without pain. http://3ringnecklace.com/

Ok I almost posted this movie as well. I agree- it completely sucked!! http://3ringnecklace.com/

Not sure why my friend sent me this, but it creeped me out.....

This certainly is weird but I think the comments at the end of the article are hilarious!! -
Ok, it's good to hear that I'm not the only one who hates Star Wars. I forgot to mention Clerks and all of the Jay and Silent Bob movies. I'm all for cursing but saying "fuckin'" as every other word is too much. The preview is all of the film that doesn't have cursing in it pasted together. http://3ringnecklace.com/

"Cast Away" has my vote. Wilson! Wilson! Give me a friggin' break. I also hate Star Wars but apparently I'm the only person in this universe who feels that way. http://3ringnecklace.com/

Hell no I don't have a housekeeper! That's jump $$! http://3ringnecklace.com/

Excellent point Winsor. Your post reminds me of a conversation I had with a low-timer this weekend. I'm not a skygod myself, and I consider myself a low-timer as well, but I had to speak up when this situation came up. I jumped with a guy this weekend who said he had 70 or 80 jumps and he's ready to strap on a camera and a wingsuit. Instead of telling him that he's wrong, and that he's rushing things (which would have motivated him more to do those things too quickly), I reasoned with him. I said, think of all of the things that you've learned between now and when you started. Now you never know what you're going to learn between now and 200 jumps. Instead of arguing, he said, yeah, you're right. Now it makes sense to him. I just hope he follows my advice. http://3ringnecklace.com/

Two from a Caravan at Skydive 35 on Jan 3. And see you there tomorrow!! The wind is good and the 'van is waiting..... Arg the winds kept me grounded on Saturday. On Sunday I finally was able to jump in 2009 from a 182 at Skydive Temple. Hoping to do some jumping at 35 sometime soon! http://3ringnecklace.com/ -
Congrats! Now you have to get your water training...

Haven't made a jump in 2009 yet Weather's been bad and I got a sinus infection. But hopefully I will be able to jump this weekend? (Caravan at Skydive 35 maybe? We'll see...) http://3ringnecklace.com/ -
Katee- I remember talking to you at SDA about your job and how much you like it. I was surprised to hear that you were doing trucking because of your expertise and passion about working in the healthcare industry. Glad to hear that things are turning around for you! I'm so glad to hear that you GAINED from the trucking job, despite all of the hassle and unpleasantness that you experienced. http://3ringnecklace.com/

THIS is what I am missing when I don't drink?!?!?! And people wonder why I'm sober.... http://3ringnecklace.com/

Has anyone ever hit a bird?
airathanas replied to Tuna-Salad's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There was some lady (no I don't know her name) who was attacked by a bird of prey while paragliding. Don't know the details but I read an article about it in Reader's Digest a year or so back. http://3ringnecklace.com/ -
The flight-or-flight reaction is completely normal- It is the body's way of getting ready for action. How does that saying go? "the trick is not getting rid of the butterflies, but getting them to fly in formation." From take off to jump run, keep taking smooth breaths. And smile!

Wow - ballon jumps, cross country, DC3s, water training - you're really doing it girl! Are you start swooping anytime soon? Haha All the best Pat! http://3ringnecklace.com/

+1 Don even if you were at the dropzone and there was a plane, and they were putting up loads, and the weather was perfect, you still won't be jumping!! You'd be sitting on the ground making fun of people's landings while sitting on your ass. Sorry but it's true So stop complaining because not jumping is nothing new to you. Besides most skydivers in this country won't make a jump b/c of the weather for another couple of months. Whine whine whine... http://3ringnecklace.com/

How about- "Use a condom." http://3ringnecklace.com/

220 Not bad. I'd like to do 300 next year. But a year skydiving without injury is a good year nonetheless, no matter how many jumps.
