95 degrees sounds cool. Try jumping in 105 degree heat, with an unaircondtioned packing area. Fun fun fun http://3ringnecklace.com/ -
How diverse is the skydiving community?
airathanas replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in The Bonfire
I'm Irish, Polish, Silcian, Greek and Turkish...you know...in other words, I'm American. My last name is Greek, which is pretty obvious, yet people HAVE to ask me every time they hear it. Them: "Athanas - is that Greek?" Me: "No it's Chinese, Einstein!" http://3ringnecklace.com/ -
My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years and we split every expense down the middle. He has his money, and I have mine. It does not matter who makes more money than who- you pay for your half, that is your responsibilty. It doesn't matter if it is movie tickets or the rent. At the grocery store we do 2 transcations. For the rent, we each get a money order for our portion. It has been like this from day one, and it will always be like this for us. I won't have it any other way. http://3ringnecklace.com/

I think he's asking if he is able to work at a dropzone, how much work will he get? AND, will he be able to work if he has a FAI rating, not a USPA rating. Sorry buddy I don't know the answers to those questions. If those are the right questions. http://3ringnecklace.com/

Wow and you're SINGLE? http://3ringnecklace.com/

yeah you were spinning the whole time but you did the most important thing: Altitude awareness -> deployment There have been students in the same situation who chose NOT to deploy because they were spinning uncontrollably. Well, we know those jumps didn't end as well as yours did. Showing that you have altitude awareness and you chose to deploy on time says A LOT. Wind tunnel training, relaxing, and working with your instructor will help. http://3ringnecklace.com/

which DZ around Atlanta could you recomend
airathanas replied to Ralph_W's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I would have to highly recommend the Farm as well- but if you go to Skydive Atlanta or Skydive Walton County I'm sure you won't be disappointed either. http://3ringnecklace.com/ -
I smell a story

Hope your birthday is the best! http://3ringnecklace.com/

Ditto on the "because I can!" response. Originally I started jumping because I wanted to do something "crazy". Only when I got more into the sport, I realized that it "made sense". I jump to separate myself from the herd. I jump because I feel the fear and I do it anyway. I jump because I hate anything mainstream. I jump to live. http://3ringnecklace.com/

Welcome to skydiving! I went through the IAF course at the Ranch and I LOVED it! That was 10 years ago and I'm still jumping. All the best- listen to your instructors!!! http://3ringnecklace.com/

Its going to suck if she has a reserve ride. No student toggles, no flare toggles, you're flying the "whole" canopy the entire time and the toggle pressure is higher then on even an EZ-384! I'm a tandem instructor. I am Strong rated and I am a 5'8" 155lb woman. I can't always flare the SETS 400 by myself, so I have students help me flare. Even though I only have ~30 tandems so far, I have already had a cutaway. I was surprised that the reserve did not have student toggles. I was still able to flare and we even had a stand up landing! The student was a small guy, so flaring was easier. If the student was big and I couldn't flare the reserve by myself, I would have put my student's hands in the toggles and I would have put mine on top of his, or grabbed the top part of the toggles. http://3ringnecklace.com/

Actually he was talking about a childhood friend who was extrememly smart, who's name was Norman Einstein. People who hear the quote assume that he trying to refer to Albert Einstein, but he wasn't. http://3ringnecklace.com/

: 10: 0 9 tandems, 1 (unpaid) video I've got bruises everywhere! One of my tandems was 215 lbs! That's the heaviest student for me yet (I'm a 5'8", 155 lb woman). I did a double take when I saw the student, and then I checked the board again to make sure because I couldn't believe that I was taking this guy (mind you I only have ~30 tandems and I jump out of a Cessna 182). Haha!! http://3ringnecklace.com/

I'm so glad you started this thread because I often feel like I'm the only skydiver who doesn't drink. At least it seems that way. I'll ONLY buy alcohol for my rigger if they have saved my life. And that is, if they REQUEST alcohol. I don't see why I should buy beer if I'm not going to drink it. I waste enough money on skydiving as it is! http://3ringnecklace.com/
