    +1 I can vouch for skydivercowboy- he's not a troll. He's a student of mine and he's just looking for advice/encouragement. He's a great guy so cut him a little slack. He's been through a lot of shit and wants to become a skydiver with all of his heart. He's already hit some obstacles along the way through student status but he hasn't given up and he is finding a way to make it work. Let's try to welcome him into the skydiving community instead poking fun at him. I know there's a lot of mud slinging here on dz.com and we all need to have a thick skin to survive in the skydiving world.     After I packed someone a slammer, I was feeling really bad. Then someone reminded me that you pack the chute, not the opening. It makes sense to me. I still feel bad that I did it, but things like this happen. At least it didn't turn into an injury or a fatality because of the pack job.     : 11: 0 The weather was AWESOME in Texas this weekend!! I did 8 tandems, got taken on a tandem for someone else's tandem certification, and 2 fun jumps. I landed ALL of the tandems by myself (aka didn't have the students help me flare). It's nice to see that 10 hours at the gym a week, hiring a personal trainer, eliminating complex carbs, and drinking protein shakes is paying off!!

    I did IAF at the Ranch in NY, so I only had one instructor during the jumps. I flip-flopped back and forth between Carol and Maria. They were both awesome!!

    It's good to read that you followed emergency procedures and was able to save your life. I'm going to add my 2 cents in here: Remember that 2500' is decision altitude. Meaning, that if you need to have a good canopy over your head by then. Instead, you saw that it was 2500' and you decided to reach once again instead of going straight for silver. Then again, it is very easy for me to make judgments when I haven't experienced this situation myself. Glad to hear that you walked away with no injuries and that you didn't depend on your AAD (although you came close!). Congrats!! http://3ringnecklace.com/

    Tru dat- I don't have the amount of tandems as Aggie Dave. I will say this though ~ all but two of my tandems are out of a narrow body 182. I don't have to spend the entire ride on my knees with the tandem rig on either. Being flexible and a 5'8" 150 lb woman has its advantages! [dirty joke here] http://3ringnecklace.com/

    I didn't tell my Mom until after I made my first jump. She wasn't very supportive when I was a student. I had to call her after every jump to tell her I was ok. (well I was 19 at the time) Now, she has done a tandem jump. She brags big time about her jump, pulling out her still pictures to show everyone she meets in a public place. She brags about me too, (because I'm an instructor) to other people. Funny how they don't support you when you start jumping, and then when you do well, all of a sudden, they support you as if they did right from the start. And NO I don't call her after every jump anymore to tell her that I'm ok. Geez. I'm 29 for pity sake. http://3ringnecklace.com/

    I used to have this "egg chair" in my office- It's a chair with a hood. I would curl up inside and take cat naps when I really needed it.     I used to not rinse the dishes off before putting them in the dishwasher. Then my ex go me into the habit, so now I do rinse them off. Makes little sense though- it seems as if I am washing them before I am going to wash them. Kinda like those people who clean before the maid comes to clean the house. http://3ringnecklace.com/

    +1 I was vidiot on one such jump. The scream was so loud that the camera recorded it even if it was in the box and in freefall. Yeah My mom did this on her tandem too! http://3ringnecklace.com/
