Are we allowed to do that? I thought the suits might explode if they are flying too close together.
-
Pictures? Demos? Pricing? I mean, im more than likely going to get one anyway, just wanted to know!
-
No flocking talk allowed, I started this thread to try to figure out what my suit for base will be next season!!!
-
BASE is what im looking for. Tell me more, and send me pictures. Im hoping the next big thing isnt just bigger. The xwing it kind of the upper limits of what I want to proximity fly with.

Seems like the V4 is coming out this spring, whats in the stable for a new tony suit? Anyone got inside info for anything else cool coming out?
-
Sabre 1 120 at around 1.6 or so. Sabre 1 is perfect for bigger wingsuits as is still has mildly positive openings, and you can get a decent used one for like $400. With the X-wing i wouldnt want anything opening slower. Nothing id rather be deploying other than a base canopy if I were to uh, lose altitude awareness and maybe smoke it a little low.

The number of base jumpers to base numbers is pretty far off, and a lot of those guys who dont have one are only flying wingsuits off big walls in europe. I think my 500 figure is a lot close to actual than the 100, but id be interested. I ordered my V3 after it was in production for almost 4 months and I was #86 in line at the time, and theyve sold many more since that, and thats only model of suit. They made those 86 suits in about 12 weeks, so I dont think 10 a week is that far fetched. Team ill vision ordered at least 20 suits in the last 2 years on its own.

Id bet robi sold at least 500 suits last year if not more. Wingsuit skydiving might be somewhat stagant, wingsuit base jumping, however, continues to explode. Id say the number of people who fly wingsuits but rarely skydive to far larger than most would expect.

Hey to be fair thats Matts footage so he has been jumping that stuff for a while. On the other hand, he is gayer than the day is long. Im going to be jumping an x-wing and a V3 soon enough. Cant we just all get along?

Last base trip before I started residency. Im no Jokke, but I just like to fly! Hope you enjoy. http://vimeo.com/12971168

I think its silly that people use their BOC on the V3 or any V series suit. Theres a leg pouch there for a reason, just use it. 100+ base jumps on v series suits and ive never had a double pull or missed pull (knock on wood). A lot of missed pulls in Z-hills, I wonder why... just kidding, tony suits are great and im thinking about getting an s-bird.

What's Jeb Corliss doing?
hjumper33 replied to skydiverkeith's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Jeb was at the perrine with his gf like 3 weeks ago, didnt talk to him, not sure what hes up to. -
Mostly walking around or going to exit points. It seems to be a pretty common issue (look at the leg wing of the v3 in the classifieds)
-
has anyone thought of a clever way, besides just putting gaffers tape on it, to stop wear on the trailing edge of the leg wing where the mylar ribs are? Post pictures.

Yah im going to say just wait on the wingsuit, and especially the wingsuit base if thats actually the case. We are losing a lot of good people through proximity flying lately, and exploring the limits of wingsuit flight in the base environment. People see awesome stuff on youtube and cant wait to fast forward to flying 4 feet from cliffs. I do just about everything in a stupid accelerated manner, but I actually waited to wingsuit base, and im glad i did. Once youre dead, youre dead, take your time, itll come. Just think how much more awesome the sport will be when youre ready.

If someone can come pick me up in Kona, loan me a rig and a wingsuit ill be right over. Its raining like crazy here today.
-
Speaking of which, are you going to have a fallrate maximum, or could this turn into a freefly festival?
-
how did the leg mount work out? I think I see it on him during the exit shot.
-
Youre neither, you just know your limitations. Different people have different tolerances for risk, and different skill sets. I think those are decent starting numbers for not going out and killing yourself in a particular suit, but they dont mean youll be able to fly that suit well. Oh, and very nice website, did I miss a pricelist on there somewhere?

How often do people really grab the toggles without unzipping? The situations I can see this being useful in are when flying with a large group and opening close to someone and needing to avoid them, and base jumping object avoidance, neither of which someone first flying a wingsuit should be doing. Also, I agree with the S1 not being the best first suit. That narrow leg wing is pretty twitchy.

Bill Dause Recieves "Chesley H. Judy Safety award!!!"
hjumper33 replied to DON321's topic in Safety and Training
For the amount of jumps done there, Id dare say that Lodi has the best safety record in the country in tandems, and perhaps fun jumps, though a horrible tragedy last year boosted that a little. The lodi sequentials are some of the best freeflying ive ever seen, you have one of the best crew teams in the world training there, some of the best wingsuit regulars in the country, and countless foreign national teams, and even a recent group of airforce cadets that all jump there. You make any mistakes in safety, bill will throw you off but quick. Say what you want, but Lodi is a pretty special place. -
Had a chance to fly one today. Too big on me, and first flight on the suit, and still averaged 36 mph. Pretty bad ass, with an amazingly wide leg wing stance. Going to wear some hiking boots next time and really try to max it out.

Youve got to learn, when you reach a certain level of awesomeness its no longer cool to provide your number or jumps anymore. This is confusing if you dont know the super cool people in skydiving already, and could confuse them with commoners. I split the difference by only putting base stats in my profile. Do I have 10 skydives, 10,000? Are those 60 wingsuit base jumps, or wingsuit skydives, and im flying a classic in the picture, how will anyone ever know whether or not to directly follow my advice??? The other end is to put 999999 for both years and skydives, either one really does make you infinitely cooler, but only if youre a known entity.

Man, im like 6'1 165 and I thought I was skinny. Eat a goddamn sandwich ladies.
