Never recorded over, never formatted, no deleting, just disappearing. How do I get them unhidden? No error message, just went back to one, but the first file number of the video is 83 meaning 1-82 are missing.

Hey guys, So during my last trip, I noticed my go pro randomly started recording from file 1 again. When I open the card, it says there are 3 gigs available on the 32 gig card, but I only have 10 gigs of files I can see. What happened to the other 19 gigs and why cant I see them, and more importantly, can I recover them? Anyone have any suggestions? And now I tried plugging it into a PC to see if the files were hidden somehow, and it says I have 20 gig available, what the fuck just happened.

Nice, new suits look cool. Hooray for continued drive to make suits better performing and safer across the board. I think its interesting that we may have indeed maxed out on the size potential of suits and are now tweaking other aspect like the V5 seems to be over the V4. I must ask, what was the tipping point for finally getting rid of the mylar in the leg wing?
-
Yah I agree with everything said here. And yes, backfly inlets are not in the stated purpose of the suit. Im sure future offerings intended more for the skydiving world will be. Innie outie is the exact same mod that tony suits is now putting on the apache to make it more skydive friendly. The stiching looks like stitching, and is well done.

larsen and brusgaard customer service
hjumper33 replied to c10edges's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Send another email, something must have glitched in cyber space. I have never waited more than a day for a response. My protrack battery cover cracked, same thing, free one shipped to me within a few days. They are the best company in the sport, bar none. -
Ok guys, so had more time to fly my demo, and recieved my very own suit when I arrived back in the states yesterday. I am very impressed with even the packaging of squirrel. It comes with tags and instruction booklets that youd expect on any high end outdoor gear. Its a little thing, but a really nice touch when youre spending $1700 for a piece of high end custom gear. The suit is interesting to fly because it has so much range. I need to actually get out a flysite to find my perfect glide speed. It feels awesome divey and fast, but also very stable slow and floaty, so its hard to tell when it flys best at. Did my first base jumps on it down in new zealand, and holy shit does this thing start fast. I in no way was starting aggresively, and you can just see the suit instantly wanting to inflate. Super stable in turns, and definitely much easier to fly than an apache as far as diving sweeeping turns go. Ill post some pictures on this page later today when I get a chance to, but you can see my first base jump on it if you go to the squirrel facebook page. Like I said before, if people have specific questions, let me know.

Edit note: this is meant to be 100% positive to jeb and everyone to take away any doubt, Everyone has an opinion on all this stuff, and its kind of hilarious. Excellent response from jeb by the way. For every person in a sport like this that gets to be a "professional", there's 100 that think they're better, and a fair few who actually probably are. It's all in how you sell yourself to the general public that creates interest, and agree with it or not, jeb does an excellent job and has a personality that people are intrigued by. People will rip him for hitting a cliff, which did suck ass, but surviving it was incredibly skillful. I had my own opinions based on what most people's are as well, but gained a huge measure of respect after I saw how you reacted to the 180 line twists in kl or where ever it was. Keep doing what you're doing, but please keep it all positive for base. Douggs is an incredible spokesman for the sport, says only positive things, and talks about how he wishes more people were accepting of it. You have an incredible opportunity to advance the sports future in ways that the people who also have tremendous skill, but no media exposure could only dream of. Anything you say reflects on every base jumping in the states, like it or not. Base and wingsuits are on the forefront on many people's minds that will never do either. China was a great start, keep up the positivity and it will only benefit everyone.

So I got my first 5 flights on a Colugo yesterday, and wanted to post some initial impressions. I should also thank Matt with Squirrel who sent me the suit that you see on their main page for my upcoming travels as mine wont be ready for another week after I leave. I only have 5 flights on it, and it is admittedly about an inch and a half too short on me as well, so take this with a grain of salt. Build quality: Right up there with any of the big wingsuit manufacturers. I was very impressed with the fit and finish of the suit. Carbon grippers are very light and feel stiffer than the standard metal ones on most suits. The 3D vent design is one of my favorite features. It seems like you could crush them down, but they always pop back up into the perfect shape. I really like the attention to detail in a combined chest pocket and camera zipper as well as the pouch in the leg wing which will be perfect for a waterbottle or stash bag. I wasnt a fan of neoprene on a leading edge on previous suits, but the glide skin on the colugo seems a lot more durable with a different feel. Flight: Even with it being a bit on the small side for me, this thing cooks. I was really impressed at the combination of forward speed and float as well. I was flying with V4s and an apache and was really impressed with its range. The best part about this suit is the control though. I always liked how easy it was to fly a V4, but liked the ability to float in an apache, which is why I had both, but hated having to switch between two very different suits. This suit floats and has the desired flight characteristics of a big suit with the ease of flight and turning characteristics more like a PF suit. Matt says that his goal was to build a really well rounded base jumping suit with this design, and he has done exactly that. It glides effortlessly, and can turn on a dime. Also of note, this escape sleeve design is the first one ive used that I feel confident in and wont grab my sleeves. I will hopefully be base jumping it within the next few days and will report on that as well. If this is just a prototype, I cant wait for my full production model.

i feel like freefly is dead. What is your perception?
hjumper33 replied to IMGR2's topic in Freeflying
I think that freeflying has progressed so quickly and is so advanced now that there are fewer new people doing it. I used to be one of those, "hey lets throw a 4 way out of a plane and play head down" people, but now there are only two kind of groups, the random ill try to sitfly without corking group, and the lets turn 11 points with transitions and docking groups who spend $10k a year in the tunnel. I dont really fit in with either of those groups, so ill stick to my wingsuit. -
I could care less about swooping or cross braced canopies, but reading this thread is hilarious. Those two canopies look vitually identical, and if they were developed without any knowledge of the other, i would be shocked beyond belief. The tire comparison would be like two people on opposite side of the world coming up with the exact same tire dimensions, tread pattern, and measurements. Not exactly apples to oranges comparison people are trying to make it. It happens in the BASE world which I am very familiar when people straight copy designs. I just think its funny that people are saying "no theres no way possible, that could never happen!". It happens.

Ps my comment was just to state the obvious. I wanted the guys in the know to tell the differences which I'm sure are man. I know squirrel has little tweaks vent changes, ect that are unique, just wondering what that is for this suit?
-
From pictures I have seen, the viper looks a lot like an apache with squirrel vents. What are the differences?
-
There are multiple threads on how we should teach people, and who is better, and GPS goggles, and all sorts of shit. No one has started a thread for the brand new phoenix fly suit coming out. Where have our priorities gone?
-
Hmm perhaps my order somehow didnt go through, I was pretty sure I got a confirmation screen at the time though, odd. I guess ill have to pick up some used ones in a month
-
Not sure, did you get charged recently or when you ordered?
-
I've literally never gotten anything
-
Has anyone else not gotten any emails from recon? I was in the 60s when I ordered and haven't heard shit.
-
Reason to bring up the RSL debate again? Had he had more speed, would there be less burble and therefore a clean extraction?
-
Should have one within the next month, and will post a full review. No one has discussed how awesome the innie/outie feature is. Ive jumped an apache for a while, and it always feel just a little sketchy. I also had a reserve pull on opening early on with a prototype apache. Pricing is supposed to be somewhere around the $1500 range, but Im not sure that has been set in stone yet, which would make it relatively cheap to similarly classed suits.

Videos That Demonstrate The Best Wingsuit Glide Ratios
hjumper33 replied to Jamesmap2's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Ive got some awesome first person max time flights that you might like. EXTREME!!! -
Plenty of people that jump slider up vented canopies get pretty hard openings wing suiting. Mine are plenty crispy if I want them to be slider up. You might get away with a few, but sooner or later, probably sooner, I think youd get destroyed and go right back to slider up. One of my buddies did one in a phantom by accident some years back and he didn't really get hurt at all, but I don't think he'd repeat the experience.

Awwwwwww please done ruin this thread. And if you want to reply and have any real point to make, please dont copy the previous 11 replies, just respond. If you look at the grippers on many recent suits, they are up to 25+ cm long, this has been happening for years. To my knowledge, they have no plans to make meter long grippers or anything like that. From what I understand though, if we do add longer grippers, we can just dive and then gain altitude so be able to fly forever without any thermals!

I think the mylar fabric in the flexible woven part you see just above the vents, not the stiffeners that we still see in the v series suits that do seem to cause issues from time to time. Chuck- still have to deal with it with the V4 and putting it away very very very carefully not to bend or break it
