  1. But you consider him your friend, so irrelevant. Try acting like a friend.
  2. I hope it's crappy so there is nothing I missed drinking! Unfortunately, my ticket has not been thrown out...but I escaped a red light ticket around a year or so prior since it was from and old book and never entered into the computer.
  3. Hey man! Hope you doin' well! This was for a speeding ticket way back in July...in Monterey Co. south of King City on 101. I was originally given a completion date of 12/28/05...but the paperwork never arrive. I found out that the stupid cop (who gave me a ticket for going 75 in a 70 - ridiculous) reversed two digits of my address. The mailperson figured it out the first time, but not the second when the Traffic School paperwork was supposed to come. I called early December to find out WTF was going on and figured it out (by looking at the ticket and hearing them state the wrong address on the phone). I wrote a letter to change the date and it just arrived in the mail yesterday (with the right date)....with a new completion date ONLY 9 DAYS AWAY!
  4. You definitely have a point. I usually make a trip when I visit my parents in Goleta.
  5. Traffic school all day tomorrow.
  6. Jesus! I only just make a few hundred per month, most of it will go for the jumps, and the (very few left) is going for secondary stuff, like food and clothes I know a guy who works for an insurance broker, they check what the best deal is for me then they tell me how much it is...now if it's, say, 60 bucks a month, I am good, but anything more than that I really can't affort it But surely there must be not-so-expensive insurances around? Go back to the search link NWFlyer posted. Health Insurance only for major accidents is discussed. You should have this at minimum to prevent another Shayna Richardson situation (situation being not being able to pay for $$$$$ medical bills after a skydiving accident).
  7. Yes....and a good way to get "cheaper" (i.e. lower premiums) Life Ins is through your employer if you work in a corporate setting. Many corporate jobs have "free" Life Ins (i.e. as a benefit) 1-2x your annual salary with an option to increase the multiplier of to a maxium amount or multiplier by paying extra. With a Group Life policy that an employer buys from an insurer for it's employees, the insurer doesn't individually underwrite the employees, but would charge the company premiums (passed on to the employees for over the "free" policy amount) based on the overall group risk characteristics. For example, the employer would probably be charged more per employee for a Manufacturing company vs Bank employees. The vast majority of Group Life policies are 24 hour coverage, without hazardous sport exclusions. Your worker's comp policy, on the other hand, will not cover your skiing accident, unless your boss is requiring you to go skiing as a condition of employment....and that is what your company Health Insurance is for.
  8. Over time (lots of time), you can develop some interesting statistical data even with small numbers. It might not be relevant to dropzone, but by doing a pretty thorough causal analysis of each fatality, you can probably see some common threads among them. Right now people are seeing them in an informal manner (e.g. "any idiot can see that canopy was too fast"). A thorough causal analysis would look at the factors that didn't look likely as well, and begin to see which ones might either be common, or that might be markers of a variety of problems. Wendy W. As someone with a degree in Statistics, yes and yes to kelpdiver and Wendy respectively. As to "Culture of Safety", yes, this is difficult - especially due to the small number of incidents to a particular location. A place with a strong sense of "CoS" may have had a couple of incidents due to stupid mistakes or blatant disregard while a DZ with an apparent complete lack of a "CoS" may have had none. Again, looking at the details of the particular incidents and the "lessons learned" are what is important.
  9. Being all sweaty and smelly most of the day, packing in said heat, smelling other sweaty people you may not want to smell, can't cool off, etc...
  10. I'm tired. I'm going to bed now. Good night.
  11. OK. That's legit....but it will be hotter than hell there only too soon.
  12. What - did it get down to like 40 degrees at altitude or something?
  13. You see, that is a reason why your's is NOT the best....because it is near Atlanta...or more generally, it is in the hot, humid, yucky southeast.
  14. I do miss South Park, Chapelle and other things. I keep hearing about this Bit torrent thing I must do.
  15. Yeah, there is a little withdrawl, but I plan to substitute it with something more....commendable like NetFlix.
  16. Ok you're not going to believe the later part, but where I live a 2 br condo starts at least 250k in a crappy area and in a upscal area it can run up to 800k USD not to mention monthly maintance fees. Most of them only have 1 or 2 parking spots. You're in NY. Duh!
  17. Please discuss. Well, it's "lifeline" at any rate. I only see snow or a blue screen right now. To see something, I have to insert a cartridge or a spinny disk thingy. I told the lifeline to, "Die! You die and go to hell!" That reminds me - I need to pick out a new DVD to buy as I'm getting sick of Good Stuff even as cool as it is (yeah know, Gasson IS in it). Suggestions considered.
  18. Yes, it may stop the strap from slipping out, but it would still widen your shoulder straps so much that you could potentially fall out - especially if you went head down. The correct answer is to make sure to always route it correctly through the buckle.
  19. It does? You sure about that? Yeah, it's in "More Stuff". (also on the DVD)
  20. Watching Pete splat in the pond sure was.
  21. Shy.....WHAT-EVERRRRRRRR!
  22. Here's one then, "Dont land in a Blackberry Patch".
