Hey Chicagoland, Are you paying close attention to this thread? http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3834271;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread It's talking about the DZO's who accept sLyride and you are one of them! The question is, have you made enough money from sLyride to support yourself if you were to get drug in to that court case? Refuse to Lose!!! I noticed. Larry Hill would be within his rights to bring litigation for aiding and abetting a bad act agaisnt those that continue to take the certificates. (Larry really is a nice person so I would doubt that he would. I cannot however speak for him) I can't answer this at this time. Next step....JAN

Job well done! Maybe this will make the Skydiving world a better place. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

So what about that contract Chicagoland? If the rumors are true, you don't have one, it's all a deal where they just send you your own customers with a GC, then you turn it in. I'm surprised, but I shouldn't be, that you have not yet answered this important question. So, what about it Chicagoland, Do you or do you not have a contract that legally obligates you to accept GC's from 1 800 Skyride?? Refuse to Lose!!! First, What list are you talking about? Secondly, simply because there's too many jumpers out there that only care about jumping Turbines and don't give a shit how or where the DZO got the money to purchase the Turbine A/C, I don't suppose the will be any "Sanctions" on DZO's or USPA unless enough people got together and boycotted them. I'm not holding my breath. Besides that, 1800skyrideripoff is not written to educate skydivers, it's written for wuffo's. And no, it's not eye candy by any means. Refuse to Lose!!! Here's how I see it, Wuffo's generally don't read these threads about the sLyride scam, and we all know that they don't know about sLyride and their scam, until after they've been scammed. So the way I figure it, we need to get the word out to them so hopefully, they will deal directly with the DZ's and NOT the middle man. Maybe this will help with that. http://chicago.1800skyrideripoff.com/ Google should pick it up in a couple of weeks. Refuse to Lose!!! This may be a possible solution to this problem since we seem to have some who are for the middle man and some who are against the middle man, I checked it out and as far as I can tell, all the travel companies offer an affiliate program which is essentially the same as sLyride and Pro, the difference is that if a DZO signs up with let's say Travelocity, they get added to the itinerary possibilities for whatever city on a customer's travel plans. It markets to the traveler who may be traveling to Chicago, Nashville, New York etc. The customer is looking through the "things to do" section of the Travelocity site and they find that they can go Skydiving in or near the city they are traveling to. That customer may not have even dreamed of skydiving before they saw that opportunity, then they decide, "Hell Yeah, I want to add that to my itinerary", They book the jump, and yes, they still went through the middle man, BUT, they got sold something that they were not originally thinking of, and they can do it in or near the city they are traveling to because it was marketed in an area other than skydiving. The way I see a lot, maybe most DZ's marketing, and I'm guilty of it to, is they only have skydiving oriented keywords, titles and description meta tags and content in their sites. Therefore, the only people who find their sites are people who were already looking to jump, so they naturally are going to Google "Skydiving in or " If the DZO's who prefer to use middle men would drop sLyride and maybe PROSkydiving and sign on with the travel companies, that could be a win/win deal as opposed to the fraud and crime done by sLyride Just a thought... The problem in Chicago is that one of the 3 local DZ's has very deep and strong ties to SkyRide. (not CSC) If CSC bailed on Skyride, literally this third DZ would get enough work for all the instructors to buy new BMW's. The SkyRide business in Chicago is huge. In Chicago, to walk away from SkyRide is to walk away from a LOT of money. Sure, it's easy to walk away from SkyRide when you're in a small center and the impact is minor. This is evident that most of the people throwing stones come from very small DZ's. It's a lot harder when it's making a significant impact to your business, and ultimately your family. It's awfully tough to walk away from a big pile of money and hand it, on a silver platter to your competition. That's exactly what everyone is suggesting. Doing so won't hurt Skyride either, because that third DZ has strong ties. As an aside, I would think that someone who wants to see SkyRide go away would be happy to see some ethical competition. As much as Doug doesn't think of his business this way, ultimately he is offering a competing booking agency with national exposure. I would think all of you would want to see him succeed. _Am What DZ's are you referring to that Accept sLyride? Inquiring minds want to know Refuse to Lose!!! Besides all that, I learn my lesson after the first time which I mentioned in that post as well.. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

You are totally right, and that is what I was talking about. I didn't do my research and didn't know anything about travel at the time. That was 6 years ago and it was the first time I had ever traveled anywhere I couldn't drive to, so, yes, You are right, shame on me for not knowing, BUT, The comparison is that there are lots of people out there who get stuck in the same situation whether it be a trip to where ever, or a skydive. I definitely see how you could see it was a lame example, but I did acknowledge that it was a bit off topic at the beginning of that post. Go ahead and feel free to crucify me for using a bad analogy, but hey, I don't accept sLyride! Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

You are right, I did knowingly use the service. It was not online, it was a local service here in Nashville, but Knowing what I know now, I'd rather make the three calls I made to book my Room/Air/Car. The whole second trip was booked in about 30 mins after about an hour of online research through the airlines sites, and I ultimately used the links in Jason's site to find the Punta Maracayo, and called I AVIS direct. I saved 1400 for about 1.5 hour of my time. The whole point was to make an example of a true life situation of the middle man raping the customer's bank acct. Refuse to Lose!!! This scenario may be a bit off topic at first, but you will see how it relates to the thread. Speaking of the middle man, The first year my wife and I went to the Puerto Rico Boogie, I set the whole thing up through a travel agency, paid almost $2,000 for the Air/room/car and added some of the tours and BS for an additional grand, still had food (if we ate away from the hotel) and gas for the car and of course the expenses for the Boogie itself, souvenirs for the family etc on top of what we paid the travel company. We ended up spending just under $5100, The second year we went, I went straight to American Airlines, Punta Maracayo Hotel, and AVIS, Got the same flight, even same kind of plane, Airbus 320, Nicer Hotel, 1 level up on the car, made 20 jumps more, stayed one night longer, had a lot more fun and did a lot more stuff in PR and only spent just over $3700. We got the air for $387, car for $129 and the Hotel was around $600 and we did the tour stuff and spent a hell of a lot less (I'd rather stayed at the Boogie). It was $1400 less to deal straight with the companies. That's the difference between not knowing and knowing about the middle man. That was one person (couple) on one trip, so how much does the middle man make in the travel industry? Scale that down to the Skydiving industry and those middle men still make a fat bank roll. Are you listening to what we are saying? You said earlier in this thread something about you would rather not get beat up here in the forums, (or something to that effect), But first, when asked if you accept the sLyride GC's, yes, you did give an honest answer of "Yes", That's respectable that you were at least honest about that, BUT, the cloud, very DARK cloud is still hanging over your head and the ONLY way you are going to get rid of it is to sever your ties to sLyride. Do the right thing and lead by example. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

I think you are wrong about slowing them down. Now, I'm going to intentionally contradict myself for a minute, You are correct, you quitting them will not slow them down, but it would be a damn good start, AND, Now back to being consistent, If you quit them, and other DZO's decide that your PROSkydiving is, or can be a better system, sLyride will either go out of business or the Government will get enough reports of customers being scammed that the Fed's will put them out of business. Just my opinion... Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

I will say that, like the other guys pointed out, you made some changes to the text for the Non members, That speaks volumns, but one question I've been setting back wondering someone else would ask, and as far as I can tell, it has not been asked, so I will; Now that your affiliation with sLyride has been exposed in a public forum, and you know who you they are and what they've done, Do you plan to stop accepting their GC's, get what ever money is due to you from them and sever all ties to any and ALL of Cary Quattrocchi's business names? If you do plan to stop, when? Edited to add, How can you set up a system to compete with an entity if you are an affiliate of the same entity? Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

I didn't call you a liar or a cheater, I did imply that you are using the same strong armed tactics as sLyride to get the DZO's to sign on. Had you done this before sLyride, it may have been a huge success, but being that you are about 10 years late and $75,000 short, I think you're in for a major uphill climb. I don't know if 1800skyrideripoff.com is actually doing much to educate the public about the sLyride scam since it only gets around 1,000 uniques a week, but hopefully you won't build a portfolio for PROSkydivingripoff.com. No,,,, I don't have that one. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

I'll skip the Nixon one-liner I had for this Before anyone starts taking Doug at face value, it would be good to do some background research. A good place to start would be to find out why a four decade legacy of skydiving at Hinckley is coming to an end with Doug's lease expiring. Go into Google, type "Hinckley Airport" and follow the airnav.com link. It has a phone number for the airport owner on the bottom of the page. Another good place to do some research is with DeKalb County, IL. I'm sure through FOIA there is plenty to be learned. Do tell...

You are right, so I will say that since it has not been exposed on this level that it was not very openly known. In other words, we all know there are several DZ's in California, Florida and Texas that accept the sLyride GC's, this was not known that widely. I will add that since we started the DZ's page, nobody has mentioned anything about CSC, unlike a lot of others. We have had at least a dozen DZO's say, "we don't, but that DZ down the road does" . And to be fair to everyone, We are not adding any DZ to that page without confirmation from the DZ whether they take them or not. Refuse to Lose!!! Given the fact that he's been very forthcoming and has been listening to people and changing things that have been pointed out, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt if he said he no longer dealt with Skyride. I would be open to that, BUT, I as well as a lot of others will probably not drop our guard to that situation. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

Yep that's a good change. Now if they would just stop working with Skyride at his dropzone! That's some change I could believe in Even if he did stop dealing with sLyride, how can we be sure that he did. It is obviously something that went on for a long time without anyone knowing. PROSkydiving.com is a website, Right? With sLyride, and now PROskydiving in the mix, how can they know where the nearest REAL DZ is? In Tennessee, the only PROSkydiving member DZ that is listed is Skydive East Tennessee, does that mean that if someone in Memphis finds PROSkydiving, they are going to assume that they are going to have to travel over 400 miles? Furthermore, are they to assume that since you have MIke Mullins' two DZ's listed as "Non-PROSkydiving" DZ's, that those two DZ's are somehow inferior? I also noticed that you have not removed Skydive Smoky Mountains from the Non member list. Also, when did AFF's cost $55? That's what you've got the "Starting From" price set at for SkydiveET Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

First, You say you are "marketing skydiving on the national level", as has been said already in this thread, Skydiving in a regional activity, so why would someone in California need to see an ad for a DZ in, let's say Ohio or North Carolina, and what business does a DZ have marketing as such? The answer is They don't! If someone want's to schedule a jump in a state that is, for example, 2000 miles away, wouldn't they Google search for a DZ in the area they wish to go to? They don't need a bunch of websites for DZ's on the East Coast showing up in the search results in on the West Coast. Secondly, you are concerned about us comparing you to sLyride, well,,,, I respectfully suggest that you step out of your box for a minute and look at yourself. We all know what sLyride has done and how they've marketed, so even though you appear to be attempting to do this in a more honest fashion, you're still the middle man. And being that you got exposed as a sLyride affiliate, well,,, that speaks for it's self. Had you never been affiliated with them, you would not be getting hammered as bad as you are. You brought that on yourself. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

One thing I will add to that Martin, and you mentioned it, but did not spell it out quite like this. Being that there's no clickable link to the Member DZ's websites, that does not help them one bit on their SEO, so from that stand-point, the Non-members get the better end of the deal. BUT, they are still being listed/linked by a website that was created by sLyride's dirty money. So if someone is looking for an incoming link to help with their SEO, this is NOT where to find it.
