That's awesome! What a blessing to be able to do something you truly love for a living. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

***My last one said, "You like Chinese food." I mean come on, how lame is that? __________________________________________________ That's USUALLY the kind I get! I keep the ones that are actually meaningful because they are so few and far between. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

We went out to eat Chinese the same day we met with our realtor. I usually find the messages in the fortune cookies to be pretty cheesy, but I didn't this time. My husband's read..."this is a great day to handle those real estate matters!" ....and as if that wasn't wierd enough, mine said "The path of life shall lead upwards for you!" If 10,500 ft. isn't upwards then I don't know what is! Anyone else ever gotten anything interesting out of those cookies! I usually tell them "well, I haven't jumped out of one yet and I have 31 jumps" ...or "when we find one we'll stay in it." Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28 -
In Texas, quite often we don't have a real winter. This is the first year I have been glad because it was jumpable all year round. It's strange how much has changed since I've become a skydiver Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

I've never seen that video before, I don't know you, but that is absolutely HILARIOUS! Being the newbie that I am, there have been several times when I could have used a push or two

I will be in San Marcos watching my friend jump...she's doing her hop n' pop and is really nervous about it. That seems strange to me because of my SL training. Anyway, it's gonna be hard not coming out to Nome, but hopefully the next weekend will be nice too. Have fun, I hope you do make it out there. Tell them all hello. ----he hands you a big chunk of his hard-earned bonus and tells you "go get your rig babe!" ---he goes ice skating with you, falls down a couple of times and hurts himself, and still gets back out there. Yeah, after 11 years, it's nice that we still love eachother, but even better, we still LIKE eachother Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Kevin, That's awesome...and very encouraging to me that the feeling is still there after a couple hundred jumps. This sport is amazing and I don't believe I'm doing it either. Sometimes I tear up as I'm flying my canopy...I"m a girl so it's okay for me to admit that I hope to see you out at Nome soon. My mom lives on 22 acres and a creek runs through the property. It's in the "hill country" in Texas, or as I like to call it Paradise, TX. The creek is on the lower level and my uncle built a nice dock about 15 years ago. Anyway, my husband and I walked down there one night with a blanket and christened that dock by the light of the moon. Outside sex is pretty cool

You wouldn't know that here in Texas. The trees started budding back in February. The seasons seem to run together, and Winter was pretty much non existent. Can't complain because I got to jump through the "winter".

All I can say is....everything you're saying makes perfect sense. That's what skydiving does to/for you. I hope it all works out. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

I can't believe I'm posting this My mom and I were out shopping one day just after the birth of my first son. I was still nursing and the typical three-hour mark had come and gone. I had forgotten to wear my nursing pads and my "milk letdown" happened before I could feed the baby. So I guess you could say I wet myself, but in a different place That was a trade-off for having a temporary rack. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Static lince progression is AWESEOME! I hope you can get started on that soon. This is truly the most amazing sport and worth everything you put into it. Good luck

***The falling doesnt bother me at all, but stepping off the plane does. __________________________________________________ That is a BIG part of the fun in my opinion. I don't have that many jumps, but I only recently got over that (a little). Good luck and have a blast. Remember, you will only do your FIRST jump once Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28 -
Traveling with your rig & security.

Newbie here.. I haven't flown with my rig yet (on a commercial flight that is). I'm just curious as to why the rigs are swabbed. What are they looking for? Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28 -
I'm this close <> to writing a letter!
skydivermom replied to SkydiveStMarys's topic in Speakers Corner
I don't have kids in public school, but my husband did teach high school for a little bit. He said it urked him how girls were allowed to walk down the hall with skirts that may as well have been washcloths, but he had to keep a tight reign on what was said in his classroom, for fear of someone getting offended. If he allowed a student to say/sing something that might offend another, he could get in trouble. He had to cover his own butt, even though the girls didn't have to cover theirs (literally)! It was not like this when we were in school. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28 -
I'm this close <> to writing a letter!
skydivermom replied to SkydiveStMarys's topic in Speakers Corner
Here's a solution, HOMESCHOOL! No, in all seriousness, I realize homeschooling is not for everyone. I just cannot relate because my husband and I chose to school at home. He did teach high school for about a year and some of the things he told me were unreal. I do not envy teachers today nor do I envy parents. Teachers (it seems) have so much more to be concerned about these days, that it must be hard to focus completely on education. I have not taught in the public schools, so I'm only going on what I've heard. Bobbi, could it be possible that this teacher is trying to cover her own butt? I'm not sure how it is in your state, but in Texas everyone walks on eggshells. There is the political correctness issue as well as the fear of being sued, and it's amazing what offends people. It is ridiculous! I do hope it works out for you. Being a parent is the most stressful job in the world, and being a teacher is no picnic either! Let us know what happens. let's hear about your first really big crush

***She was my first huge crush--let's hear about yours. __________________________________________________ Why, it's you Walt! GOTCHA! My first big crush was Ricky Schroder. I remember getting butterflies in my stomach when Silver Spoons would come on. I even wrote him a letter with red heart stickers all over it. I don't get that same feeling when I see him on Strong Medicine (I don't watch the other one he's in). Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28 -
