  3. I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandpa. I lost my dad several years ago...and I was way more emotional than my sister. We all grieve in our own way, and do it differently under different circumstances. Once again...I'm sorry and God Bless you and your family. 4. ***I love to laugh!! When I go to visit my sister in NJ, she says her cheeks on her face (had to clarify that) hurt for a few days after I leave. I just keep her laughing nonstop. __________________________________________________ I have a sister just like you then, in CA, because my stomach muscles get quite a work-out during our visits. ...and speaking of cheeks, one of her favorite things to do is moon me at the most unexpected times. One time she was riding with my mom in a truck and I was following in my car. We had just entered the freeway when, to my horror and amusement, her white butt kissed the back window of the pick-up. I almost had and accident...and I don't just mean an automobile one Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

  16. Thanks Brian, That is a blessing. Fear almost kept me from continuing in this sport....turns out my fear of not living life was greater than my fear of skydiving. I'm going to check out your research. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  17. No Way! It could be dung-bug green...as long as it saves my butt! Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  18. Okay, I realize I'm a newbie as well. I jump at the same dz and also did my training there. I honestly could not tell the difference (as far as control) between the two rigs as I was constantly switching back and forth. My only concern was if I was going to slip out of the dadgum harnesses! I am 5"1 and only 115 lbs. The only thing that sucked about jumping the bigger canopy was when I hit my nose on the step. It took me so freakin' long to get to the ground Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  19. ***You may want to check out the Aerodyne web page, they are offering a special on the seven cell Triathlon for $700, you can get a new canopy for the price of a used one.. skyfox69 __________________________________________________ I think I confused some people because of the way I worded my first post. I only mentioned canopy...the whole rig is for sale for $1200. I need to check on the details and give it some more thought before I decide. 20. I found Ground Rush Skydiving Club through a friend just after I began skydiving. When I first started training with them, they were located at the Beaumont Municipal Airport. What immediately made me nervous was all the other planes that took off/landed there, and the large amounts of concrete I would have to avoid landing on. Despite all of that, I persevered and graduated from the Static Line program in December of 2005. On January 7, I made my first jump at our new location in Nome, TX. It's a little town just outside of Beaumont. It used to be a crop dusting airport. Well, so much for the concrete issue, our runway isn't even paved! It's all grass. It's an absolutely awesome place to jump. Beautiful country scenery; a far cry from the chemical plants we would veiw while gliding to earth in Beaumont. As a newbie who is somewhat comfortable under canopy, I love jumping there. However, as a student just beginning, I believe the close proximity to hwy 90 would have scared me off. Hopefully I am a rare case, because being close to the hwy would seem like a great idea for business.
  21. I didn't even know this guy but I am tearing up big time right now. I can imagine among some of the advice he would give that "LIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE FULLEST" would be the main theme. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  22. I've seen El Cap up close, and that was inspiration enough. I can't imagine climbing it, much less stepping off of it. I can safely say I will NEVER BASE jump, but I would love to watch you and a bunch of others do it. I remember watching the documentary about Jan...shortly after I decided to take up this sport. What an amazing woman. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  23. Fantastic advice.....I will ask my instructor about doing this...I did find out the reserve is the same size as the main (150). Thank you
