Where do you jump? Can I come visit? In the name of spreading the love and not the hate, I'm not going to gossip. I just wish people would think about how their actions affect others a little more. The dropzone should be a place to skydive.. ya know what I mean? Mostly Cross Keys, and I was just at The Ranch yesterday, where I noticed the vibe is especially friendly and welcoming to new people -- so I'll be going there more often this season. You should make the visit to either or both, it's worth it! Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

When the left gets ceptic about a topic? I know it is very close to home Trying to make something out of your completely vacuous response. Mind defining "ceptic?" Couldn't find it in the dictionary. New Bushism perhaps? Oddly enough, I couldn't find "commy" in the dictionary either... Maybe you should look in an unabridged dictionary Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up. -

Okay, now in the context of your reply, that makes even less sense. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up. -
The stabbing is a rather isolated incident. I noticed that the vibe is generally good at the dropzones I go to. Is the vibe particularly bad at the dropzones you hang out at? Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

Words of imminent garbage. I didn't bother to read the rest. Is there a communist equivalent to Godwin's law? Seems to be a rule that when some righty is ranting about liberals the commy accusations sprout up sooner or later. When the left gets ceptic about a topic? Nice job man! Just out of curiosity, do you know what the first place finishing time was? Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up. -

You're kidding right? Economics. *Note this data report was done in 2001 and the so-called socioeconomic benefits have only decreased since. Really brief article if you're lazy. If ignorance is bliss, do not click here. I support the humane control of over-populated fish & wildlife. This is simply not the case here. Quite the opposite, in fact. I think you're taking this thread a bit too seriously.

Wow, what an amazing shot. I'm green with envy that you jumped in that sky. Hopefully I will jump in a sky like that one day myself... Thanks for sharing. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

I take it you've been training for at least a couple months for this, no? What's the longest run you've done to this point? about 10 miles... only ran it once though... usually I run 6-7 miles at a time. Definitely do another 10-miler asap; ideally you should have done at least three of those by now. Since you're usually running half the distance, you're probably going to start feeling the effects of the run late in the race. 10+ mile runs will condition you for race distance and push back the wall of discomfort that you'll hit late in the race. Other things you can do are stretch (within your means of course, don't overstretch), cross-train a bit, perhaps a bit of speedwork if you're running for a time (though at this point it's a bit late in the game for that). I'm pretty sure that loading up on carbohydrates for a half-marathon isn't as big a deal as it is for a full marathon, but it might help to do that a day or two in advance. Definitely do hydrate a couple of days before the race to the point where your piss is clear. Bring a few energy gels along for the run, and don't overstride during your race since it can wear you out; keep a modest but swift stride (shuffle) so you don't wear your legs out and have enough in you for a strong finish. And don't forget to smile at the finish line. -

That almost invariably results in a response by some postwhore skygod belittling the newbie for not knowing as much as they do. It happens on here all the time. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

Just a little? Which is why I choose to simply scroll past the drivel that the clique-y postwhores can't resist posting. Not all of us; I respond to a thread when it interests me, regardless of who posted. Some of us aren't in a circle and feel no need to be in one (not that anything is wrong with being in a circle or wanting to be in one). Good to see a self-admitted member of a clique reach out; that's rare on here or in real life. Nice idea. To those who wished me well on the marathon, thanks again. Thanks a million. I ran it today and did *much* better than I could have expected considering my lengthy injury layoff and today's unreasonably windy, rainy, chilly and humid conditions in Hopkinton at race time. 3:20:04 was my final time, and i placed higher than my bib number predicted. My superstitious side tells me that 'good luck wishes' somehow have a positive effect on my marathon performances, and thanks in part to those who wish me well on my marathons, I've always run times I've been content with. This is certainly not the best time I've ever run (actually it's the worst!), but I've never been more proud of a performance than the one I busted out today. I'm delighted with this marathon time all things considered, and I've never felt the kind of joy (or pain) at the finish line that I felt today. Thanks once again for helping me out in my race, it really means a lot to me! Running Boston Marathon on Monday -- Vibes? Please? :-D

Forecast says showers and wind, high of 44 degrees. And I'm not nearly in the shape that I wish to be since I had a 2.5 month break due to a stress fracture. It's been a full year since my last marathon :-p ...so I'm relying on superstition more than any race I've ever done...even one vibe might help, anything. I'll even take a "f.ck you Paulie, hope you get pneumonia" -
My four-year-old nephew was diagnosed with autism a couple of years ago. My sister has been very diligent about working on the diagnosis early. A year ago he could barely speak. Just a month ago, he and I had our first conversation; I was almost in tears. The progress he's made is incredible. Thanks to the OP for posting the link and caring about this -- I'll watch the video when I get home. Hopefully we're not far away from even better treatment, finding the cause so preventitive measures can be taken, and (it's okay to dream) possibly even a cure. A few things - O'Reilly again, and I'm injured...

I call BS on the three months. Get a second opinion -- this is probably another over-cautious doctor doing the CYA so he won't get sued. I'm not saying I know better than a doctor, and he could very well be right, but definitely do get a second opinion. If it's moderate achilles tendonitis, three months seems a bit austere. Get a naproxen prescription, down them daily (no alcohol), do some achilles stretches (bent-knee calf stretch, but I'm sure you know this already) and I bet you'll be okay in less than a month. I was out for 2.5 months with a stress fracture, so I know how you feel, very frustrating. At the same time, remember that part of being a good runner is knowing when not to run. So look at it this way -- you're benefiting yourself in the long term by resting now. Good luck healing.
