  1. Moot because BillVon isn’t electable. . .circumstances, would murder him with the electorate. This isn’t necessarily a good thing, but I doubt he can overcome it. Welcome to Politics 101. Blutarsky 2008. No Prisoners! Already your using mudslinging tactics! Are you afraid to have to share a ballot with Billvon? Focus on the issues! Maybe HH will host the debates.
  2. Actually I just had that song (Alice's Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie) out of my head when I read your post. Sudsyfist 2008 Billvon might vote for him!
  3. Where is the line? When does it go from voting against the candidate you feel is less qualified of the two to voting for the candidate that is more qualified of the two? What is the difference, really, except our personal opinion of the quality of the best candidate running. Gravitymaster, do you really think that GWB was the best the Republican Party had to offer in 2000? What about with the benefit of hindsight? I don't think Gore was the best possible nominee from the Democrats. Nor was Kerry in 2004. With our current system, it would be nice to see two candidates run that had a history of working well together directly in a bipartisan manner, if for no other reason, it would help promote a clean campaign focusing on real issues. Hell, let them hit the campaign trail together so that people can hear what both of them have to say at the same time. That might actually foster more knowledgeable voters. Personally, I believe the nation would be best served by an outsider from politics, someone who can get inside, not help but notice the absurdity of our current system and work for real change, someone who has the integrity to do what is right, and not what is in the best interests of the biggest campaign contributors. I want to see someone in office that is actually representative of the best our nation has to offer.
  4. Well, actually I didn't say what I thought. I think Kerry would have made a lousy president, much better than the one presently in office.
  5. I am confident that many people that voted for Kerry did in fact feel he was the best candidate. Don't get me wrong, there were also many who simply voted against Bush. I think there is a strong argument that they were justified in that action.
  6. My bad. Nonetheless I think the point is still valid for many people. I really wish we had ranked voting, so that third parties would really be an option, and the average voter would not feel as though they are throwing away their vote if they don't vote for one of the Big Two. Incidentally, there is no known system of voting that is fair, from a mathematical perspective, 100% of the time.
  7. So on one hand, you have the option of voting for the least undesireable candidate, and on the other hand you can not vote, which is one of the, if not the, most important civic responsibilities one has in a representative government. Isn't that choosing the lesser of two evils, also?
  8. Good point. I guess I wasn't paying attention to detail. :) For Great Deals on Gear
  9. It is safe to say that is precisely why so many people could not bring themselves to vote against Kerry, as poor a candidate as he was. I think for the most part, their fears have manifested.
  10. I had a 1994 Galant, and IIRC, there was something in the manual about closing the sunroof when and if this happened. It never did with me, so I never had to try out the instructions.
  11. Just to recap: 1. We have a two party system. 2. Neither party has fielded a qualified candidate for at least the last two elections. It is not intelligence that is lacking among voters. What is lacking is qualified candidates and honest debate. It also wouldn't hurt if we had mainstream media that was not owned and influenced by corporations with their own stake in the political game.
  12. Its just as funny the third time! The joys of tech support.
  13. Try this. It will probably be your simplest solution, and least expensive in the long run. No computer tech skills required.
  14. Yeah, I can't see it either be cause it is a winblows media file (as far as I can tell), and none of my browsers support it. For Great Deals on Gear
  15. It is the brave man that seeks diplomatic solutions, and the fearful fool that uses violence before diplomatic solutions have been exhausted.
  16. Well, we have been feeling left out this year on the Florida penninsula...
  17. 13. And why the fuck wasn't it posted in Bonfire? For Great Deals on Gear
  18. Have you read the Constitution lately? From Article One, Section 8
  19. The Constitution grants Congress the authority to collect taxes. If you do not like the way that authority has been used, write your Congressmen, vote and/or run for Congress. The people have control of Congress by way of voting. The Supreme Court is not subject to the whim of public opinion. That is the reason they have lifetime appointments, so they do not need to be concerned with reelection. Two completely different subjects.
  20. By way of a legal technicality, Nightingale is free to steal it, and I am twice forbidden?
