For practical purposes, it is that way here (in Florida at least). With the death of EVERY patient, the nurse is required by law to call the organ donation line immediately after the death and give them specifics as to age, diagnosis, any infections, etc. The nurse has to fill out a form documenting who they talked to and what family member was contacted (if the patient met the criteria) about organ donation and document that they specifically refused for the patient to be excluded from the process. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

Unless one is working in the fields or equivalent, it's really just about how much you eat. The exercise has it's own reward in terms of tone, flexibility and overall feeling good, but any moderate diet will work. When you watch Les Stroud (Suvivorman), after a few days, he has ragged stubble and pouches under his bloodshot eyes. His hair is dirty and he has dirt and grit under his fingernails. The only thing he regularly carries in a multi-tool. He starts fires on his own or does without. He's out there by himself and lugging 70-80 lbs of camera gear. I just started watching Man vs Wild and was talking at work about how much better Bear seemed to hold up and how much tougher he must be (I did wonder about the artfully shaved man stubble)...WRONG! I treat motel staff with respect and dignity. It's the waitress who can spit in my risotto I want to be happy.

Why not? Would you consider not leaving a tip in a restaurant? Do you think the maids cleaning your room are paid better than a server in a restaurant? I have to admit that I don't have a problem in tipping in a restaurant more than 20 percent, but I resent leaving a tip in a motel... especially a percentage of the outrageous bill!!! I've started leaving $5 at the end of my stay, but I'm feeling a little guilty for being so cheap when I'm not cheap in a restaurant. I don't know why it should be any different. The maids probably need it more. I tip generously in a restaurant for good personal service. Cleaning a room is maintaining the motel's property. I don't tip for routine maintenance.
