Nope, only the ones who earned their slots in those categories. You earned your slot. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

is that it's been discussed/argued/etc. enough. That is not the point of this thread, and let's not re-hash the same frickin' statistics/anecdotes/etc. I guess that's a bit too much to ask, huh? Let's take a look at this. You present your point of view on pit bulls, complete with anecdotal comments, THEN, you call for a lock on discussion. Apparently the 'enough' mark was reached right after you had your say ...imagine that. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

My bad, it's DBRF or Dog Bite Related Fatalaties. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

Seven is not the only number to come up on a roll of the dice ...but it's the smart bet. We did have an American Staffordshire Terrier (aka Pit Bull) in hospital for the past 11 days. She must have missed the whole Pit Bull thing as she thought your lap was where she belonged and that giving kisses was a requirement. Her biggest wrong - being so happy to see you that her tail was wagging so much it hurt if you got hit by it. Let's not get into the whole "Pit Bulls suck" routine, again, k? We already know it. I worked in a large ER for three years. According to their records for the previous 8 years, about 70-80% out of dog attacks were ....wait for it ...Pit Bulls. All other breeds make up the remaining 20-30%. This data is replicated in ER's around the country. It seems what you know is being trumped by what you want to believe. I would suggest you not gamble in any form of dice game. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

The courts dictating what schools teach?!?! I can easily understand that you would call that smart. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

I understand what you are saying, however I have a friend who ran the police academy for 30 years and he is of the opinion the cops are getting way out of hand and militarized. He likes to use his video camera these days to document abuses and try to get rid of some of the worst that LE has. I think it is his way of doing a manufacturers recall. The thing that bothers me the most is the threats he has received on video, by LEOs goes uninvestigated or is simply swept under the rug by the department. I posted some time back about the 'filter down' effect of war on terror to local police abusing police powers ...I was soundly trounced for thinking such a thing was possible. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

No need to apologize . . . to each their own . . . I'll take the front. Wow! No panties makes me hot?! I would have thought it was my eagerness to skillfully participate in a wide range of ...pleasurable activities. You never know what trips a man's trigger(s).

High maintenence is high maintenance. There are lots of boys willing (eager!) to put up with that shit ...not so many men. Whether you are HM, I have no idea. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

It seemed to just get a bit warmer in here. What? No panties? It's not at all uncommon in tropical heat ...and it feels wonderful! ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

Nope. In fact, I should thank you for the glue.

This is where you would be very wrong, I make it part of my professional life to try and instill a questioning mind in all of my charges. Especially the so called "Cultural Norms", we even focus on the make up industry as a part of that critical thinking. So what you may think is apparent, is very much a misconception on your part. You are providing a critical societal function. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

Funny thing about choice. When you 'choose' to do something virtually every other woman in society does, you haven't CHOSEN anything. You're just following the programming ...like the one that tells you you look "pretty" with pigments on your face. By that reasoning, I guess "choosing" to shower each day and brush my teeth means I'm just following the programming as well. To each their own I guess. I'll continue to "choose" to be neat and clean and wear makeup if I want. My choice. I don't have a problem if it's the same choice as someone else.
-
So it's merely conincidence that millions upon millions of women apply pretty much the same pigments in pretty much the same manner for pretty much the same reasons????? Surely you do not believe this. Social conditioning is neither right nor wrong. Cultures depend on non-critical 'thinking' by the vast majority of it's members ...or the culture collapses. The masses who delude themselves with 'considered choice' are serving the critical societal function of ...cultural glue. Social conditioning is so powerful, otherwise reasonably intelligent individuals honestly believe they are making a "considered choice". That's why I posited a litmus test of 'considered choice' If it is the same 'choice as the overwhelming majority ...it's pretty much a lock that you are following your conditioning and rising above nothing (the major exception being survival [e.g. praying to the gods to keep from being stoned to death]). The only apparent truth in squeak's response is his ignorance of enculturation. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
-
What a load of crap if some one makes a considered choice to do somthing regardless of how many people are doing it, it's a valid choice, and need not have anything at all to do with "following the Programming" hehe HEHE BWAHAHAHAHA! ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
-
Or one who needs artificial products/materials/whatnots to do it for her. Do you use store bought shave cream? Deodorant? Toothpaste? edited to add - meant If you do, then you sound like YOUR definition of "high maintenance" ... Just because a woman CHOOSES to wear makeup and make herself look "pretty", doesn't mean she's "high maintenance". Funny thing about choice. When you 'choose' to do something virtually every other woman in society does, you haven't CHOSEN anything. You're just following the programming ...like the one that tells you you look "pretty" with pigments on your face. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

Yup. Lets say owning more than $50 worth of make-up total, or replacing that more often than every 2 years. Or if they ever, ever painted their fingernails as an adult or have painted that metalic stuff on their eyelids or that egyptian stuff around their eyes, or have ever had to take ANYTHING off their face before going to sleep. For me, anything more than soap, moisturiser/sunblock, a hairbrush and a toothbrush is just a little too much. (I know I'm outspoken on this, but I've also found the woman of my dreams.) t It sounds like she has found the man of her dreams, also. It warms my heart everytime I see a man who can appreciate a woman's true beauty. Cheers to you both. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

Should Ahmadinejad be permitted to visit Ground Zero?

I agree on one hand. On the other, how would you feel if your wife, mother, father etc. had died in the Towers. I'd feel that their 'dead' status would be unchanged by anything he did. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it". -
Should Ahmadinejad be permitted to visit Ground Zero?
jenfly00 replied to Muenkel's topic in Speakers Corner
Sure, why not? It's still (somewhat) a free country. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it". -
If that were the case, then Blackwater could conceivably go to work for Iran, AQ, North Korea, or whoever else paid the most. That is absolutely never going to happen. because they would lose their U.S. contracts? I mean, business is business. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

And for that reason, members of our army, navy, air force, and marines have my gratitude. Mercenaries aren't there to protect our freedoms, they're there for the paycheck, and my tax dollars ought to be thanks enough. Blues, Dave They're NOT mercenaries. They are just independent businessmen??? ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

Really?!?!?! The ones my tax dollars trained so that they could quit and sell their skills to the highest bidder I owe my freedoms (or what is left of them) to that bunch of ...er, patriots?!?!? Oh, I really must hear more about this. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
