Fully Agree with you on that. Its all to easy to blame the police, + witnesses would be in shock and distress possibly explaining the bad reports from witnesses
-
Quote Fair play to you, i must have interpreted it differently as to how you would have liked it to be interpreted. Although, lol im not bickering here, but it was slightly vague in that there was no set meaning if you know what i mean, well thats from my eyes. I could be wrong. Sorry for the confusion, and fair play,

Sure, for a mistake like this to happen,. it should be found out and tried to be corrected, but without having consequences for the officer involved. As you lives 10 min away , i guess it will have a different impact for you - i lvie in watford which is NW London which is miles and miles away from that , so i have less "urgency "in my view - do you see what i mean? Im much less afected by it as a result so i will have a much different view - not saying your view is worse at all, not at all, but we might have differnet oppinios slightly if you see what i mean. Like a guy who has never lost a family member in a war will be more likely to support a war than one who has - hope that helps my explanation lol. I hope blair goes, and that he is replaced by someone better.

There are also helluva lot of military guys and Woman that aren't shallow to and don't view themselvrs as "MR Tough". Anyway who fucking cares which are better looking, bit dumb post really. my girlfriend would be very offended if you judged her solely on looks, and didn't even give a rats ass about her personality or character. Although i think she is beautiful her personality matters to me . You might wanna consider that, just a thought, Oh BTW, there is nothing bravado about doing a sport where you can die - you do it because you enjot it. For bravado = stupidity

However i think it is important to also bear in mind that it is very easy to criticise the police, yes ok it looks like they should have distuingished him as being white and the officer shuld have been focused, but i think it could have been still quite hard for them to be totally sure. Thus, we , as people who weren;t there at the time should bear in mind it is helluva lot different for the person actually going to shoot him and make these decisions, and i doubt they would have made these decisions deliberately Obviousely they were wrong, yes trajically wrong, but i still wouldn;t blame them spitefully . Yes some people would say well it is unacceptable, but mistakes do happen - we are humans. Its veyr easy for people to sya what SHOULD have been done, but i would often liek to put them in the situation and see how they fuck up, and then go "oops oh i now see why it was hard for the police". This isn't directed at you at all, just at people in general. With regard to penpushers, the whole police seems to be filled with them unfortunately.

He did not run from police nor was he wearing a heavy jacket that could have concealed explosives as per the initial reports. Most worryingly the Metropolitan police chief commisioner attempted to block the investigation into the shooting saying it would distract his officers from their jobs. Quote I might be wrong on this, but it was eye witnesses who told the police that he ran away and was wearing a jacket - thast what they based their info on. Witnesses are sometimes very unreliable, so if what i said is true = it could very well turn out wrong, then it would be unfair to entirely blame the misinformation on the police. The Commissioner, well i think their is an alarming trend with some of the leaders - they are all pen pushers who get head of a specific area having had no experience serving in it at a lower level- excpt from they have the "managerial skills", who look out for themselves and not their men - John Stevens the previous commissioner and deputy Vaness actually defended their men when necessary and didn;t always think about their own position. Blair isn;t the best of leaders of the police IMHO. So he probably ordered that to turn the attention away from it to stop him being criticsied. that is just my 0.2

Environment vs industrialisation - have we done enough?
Mike111 replied to Mike111's topic in Speakers Corner
the same here is in england, solar panels are expensive and it is cheaper for families to get more electricity from coal power stations thsan to buy them Until the demand for these things goes up, prices will stay quite high. + the weather factor makes few people want to get them A pity really. -
Lol i don;t mean a kite, i mean a real thing. a proper aeroplane. they said it would be slower than todays planes but silent - it is develeoped at the Uni of cambridge . Should be reayd by next decade. No bullshit , Honest!!
-
Yer - but depends on how you define country, An old history teacher said their country did exist - it was where they were settled at the time, the temporary country if you see what i mean. Might sound bullshit, but some palestinians called it their home. From legitimate facts YOU ARE RIGHT. From liberal interpretation, we are both right i think. Sorry if there was confusion.
-
Ahh i see what you mean. i should have been more careful with my words - true friends are hard to come by, and i didn;t didtuingish that i was referring about them and not clingers. Sorry if i wasn't very clear, Thanks, mike
-
Palestine did exist actually, Im pretty sure it did.
-
Sure, but wouldn't it be fair to say that some people would still view someone as a friend even if they didnt; have all those traiyts - they might not have a sense of humour but are otherwise genuinely really good people? Please correct me if i am wrong (which i am probably am lol)
-
I don't know anything on the land claim so i won;t comment there. But yes, good point, i didn't make it very clear that extremeists in both groups. Ill Edit. Cheers mike
-
LOl thanks you gave another one - edited to add - NOT RUDE!!!
-
What would you say is the most important character trait you look for in a friend.? Loyalty? Trust? Honesty? Funny? Polite? caring and concerned about others? Modest? Kind? or any others not mentioned(the list could go on for two days) Or are they all important? mike
-
I doubt the extremeists will be happy - they never are until Israel is completely destroyed, while on the other hand., there are Israeli extremists who will never negiotiate either. unfortunately you can never please some people in this world IMHO. I hope it doesn't cause any more tension between the two sides resulting in more violence and death. That would be trajic, but unfortunately very possible.

Environment vs industrialisation - have we done enough?
Mike111 replied to Mike111's topic in Speakers Corner
i wish that would be the case for electric cars and stuff - cheap. But as they are just been made literally, they are too expensive and uneconomic. -
you must have eyes like a hawk to spot that one!! Very cool though!
-
it was on the news today that they are planning to build airliners which are silent!!!

Would it be fair to say that if energy saving was applied more -we wouldn't waste as much energy at home would also help the environment as less fuel would be burnt. One could prevent this by having good house inslutation to reduce heat loss or use a specific type of light bulb which reduces the amount of energy wasted. That is one step i guess. -

Thanks for that, i never considered the general population side of it, and come to think of it, that is spot on. Here, in the UK, we have counties (equivalent to states just much smaller) and there all have their own policies. Recycling is really stepping up here, which highlights your point about too much crap being wasted and being disposed of irresponsibly, to the point we where we have different coloured bins for different types of watse.
