  1. Thanks Kelpdiver and JTl, I must agree that it should help our confidence in our ability to deal with a situation because at least we know what to roughly expect, and it will come as less as a shock if we experience it againn. Although we had these bad experiences, i think we have had least learned and gained valuabl lessons early on, and as you said, have the correct responses burned into our memory... ... With regard to panic, as others have kindly stated above, i think these experiences and practice EP's or whatever other methods we use will help us over these things and allow us to reatc calmly and collectively and solve our own individual issues. Anyway, glad you got your main out, even if it was a bit late, better than nothing out[;)
  2. Im only a newbie and don't know anthing about USA, but in UK the Prime minister gets 4 hours sleep a night on average due to work intense loads... ... 365 days a year all the time non stop - i would say 5 weeks vacation for a president of the USA is veyr justified given the amnount of work he has to do and how little sleep he gets. That is only my humble opinion, feel free to disagree. mike

With regard to hop and pops, AFF 8 (im not quite there yet) is from 5,000 - the A license minumum altutide is around 3,000 opening tiem I think - would you recommend going from 4,000 or 5,000? Thanks for you help, Mike
  16. Having read another thrad "Thoughts on Panic", and a few posts in the incident forum of where jupmers panic and hurt themselves, it was mentioned that the best way to train people is to drill in the proceedures under extreme pressure. On one AFF level 5 jump, (and on pulling parachutes), i panicked badly when tumbling and spining and my instructor bailed me out thankfully, but i failed to react to the situation although knowing afterwards what i should have done. Are there any such such circumstanes where a student can tain themselves under extreme pressure to help combat this panic and make sure they can react cool and calmy?. I did think about quitting because i thought i wasn't suited or capable of engaging in the sport, but there have been situations outside of skydibing where i have remained fully calm - could it be lack of awareness of the new environment? IF someone has panicked before, does it mean they have the capabiltiy to overcome it, or is it an ingrained thing which can never be resolved? Does relaxation in freefall and slower calmer movements help in preventing panic? Any advice, thougths or tips would be greatly appreciated,
  17. Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Ill definately plan a visit there sometime this year to chekc it out, might even bump into you there!. Good luck with the rest of the training, i hope you solve any probs you have with AFF.
  18. Hey, Just to stay don't get too flustered by it, i had the same problem on level 5 but was tumbling and flipping like you were. 21. I think its very hard to answer that - from the American point of view it saved their solderi's lives, but it killed thousand of innocent civilians. Overall it was probably worth it although there are veyr serious consequences. A veyr trajic and unfortunate incident though to happen Mike
  22. Tandem - good introduction to see whether it was likeable without all the hassle of a lot of training. Perfect really.
  23. Capital FM. Best radio station in London, without a doubt.
  24. Hey, I go bakc and forth to - i get really scared when im up there and find the freefall uneasy ,but really wanna do it again when on the ground and miss it. Weird innit? Once the fear is reduced eveyrone says thats when you really start to enjoy it. Like you do, i love it totally but can;t really work out why just yet. Oh the instructor got me out the plane, or i would never would have gone on my first jump which was a jump. Good luck with the rets of your training,
