  15. If you've never seen Patrick Passe's movie Cross wind, see it, the footage is 10 years old but still shows wingsuit flying with an amazing grace and precision still unmatched today. As Ed says there are other worthwhile things in life that do not involve a parachute Loic retires a living legend, the better way to step down. Honor his flying by improving your own. BASEstore.it
  16. When i used to skydive (prior to becoming a sleep deprived diaper engineer) - when my slot was paid I used to give photos / video to the jumpers involved for free. At the same time if a magazine or publication approached me I would ask $. If a jumper has Mad "Kent" skills then i would understand them being more fiscal. 111 is on his way but no-one is there yet. Breaking even in skydiving is already a massive achievement. BASEstore.it
  17. As you slide left of the mean the letters TROLL get larger and larger. BASEstore.it
  18. You want to jump a wingsuit, you don't satisfy the requirements BUT you have mad skillz. There are those who occupy space in that small crack to the far right of the normal distribution, they are incredible natural athletes and can take to new things with little or no effort. But odds are you are not from this place. Maybe we should modify the FAQ to cover all possible variations of "I want to jump a wingsuit, don't have 200 jumps BUT ......." 200 jumps in modern skydiving is nothing, 1 year doing 4 jumps a weekend! BASEstore.it
  19. I used to have a leg cut away on the S1 and S3 - the relatively narrow leg wing made landing or kicking out line twists with the leg wing in place difficult. The modern suits have much wider leg wings which allow a greater range of (leg) movement so I haven't gone for a leg cut away since. I know some guys who go for the leg cut away as they struggle to unzip their legs under canopy. If you need a leg cut away in BASE you should pull higher IMO BASEstore.it
  20. Agreed, wings should be cut away in freefall as a last resort. They are primarily for use under canopy, when a zip gets jammed or blocked (tab blown under thumb loop). I've had to use mine on S3, Vs and Stealth. Especially useful in BASE environment where canopy time is precious. BASEstore.it
  21. 2001> footage from first jumps: http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=24 Comparing the two - we didn't come so far! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMbeGJQFFqo&feature=channel_page BASEstore.it
  22. High altitude jumps have it all, apart from being risky, time consuming and expensive
