  1. Thanks for the review, footage looks great! BASEstore.it
  2. Hi, did the AX100 review appear online? I had a quick search but didn't find anything. Interested in image stability, I really liked the PJ790 Stabilizer. thanks J BASEstore.it
  3. Hi, does anyone have photos or specifications for a line twist simulator? I wish to install one at my local BASE site as we've had some incidents and near misses from jumpers handling line twists & off headings poorly. I've heard of simulators being a large suspended metal cross , with line set and harness. How large does the cross need to be? How much of the line set is used? Thank you, James BASEstore.it
  4. Fast back is standard on all suits (since 2 years or so) BASEstore.it
  5. Can someone please post their config file to use the "speech mode" , I haven't managed to get it to work.. BASEstore.it
  6. Many BASE pilots are flaring now before deployment (as seen in the WWL, wing suits can't fly up video). Good speed, throw the PC after the apex. Climbs of 20-30m quite normal followed by soft subterminal opening. Best learnt from the plane, YMMV BASEstore.it
  7. Yves Rossy created such a system about 10 years ago for his rigid wing project. Nitrogen if I remember correctly, he pulled a tab after exit to inflate the wings and then an onboard sensor corrected the inflation for the varying external pressure. Complex and expensive but doable.. BASEstore.it
  8. Skydiver Alexander Gerst just arrived on the international space station for a 6 month stay, I met him in Germany a long time ago when we were both students. (I guess he's not the first skydiver on the ISS, but he is the first i know! ;) Please like and share his FB page: https://www.facebook.com/ESAAlexGerst I think if we all ask him nicely he will perform a David Hasselhoff song for youtube! 9. Everyone put down your keyboards and go jump. BASEstore.it
  10. The X3 has better vertical range than the X1 /2. It has more surface area and slower stall speed, ideal for XRW. BASEstore.it
  11. Hi Chris, I don't check this forum that often so if you have specific questions you can email me james.boole@gmail.com or Patty patty@tonysuits.com Cheers J BASEstore.it
  12. The X3 and Apache are quite different (if you re-read my post), there is more sewing in the X3 hence the higher price BASEstore.it
  13. -What is the difference between an Apache, Rebel, X and XRW? Apache /X = Apache Performance suit, thinner profiles, wide leg stance, good BASE starts, great glide, higher stall speed works ok for XRW Rebel / XRW / X3 Performance suit, fat profiles, slightly narrower leg, amazing BASE starts, great glide, slow stall speed great for XRW (and landing in Gary's case) -What is the difference between whatever the current Apache is, to the X3? This is covered above, the X3 is the skydive version of the Rebel -Is there an X4 on the horizon Or an Apache Beta 3. No X4. Apache 2 is on the way (prototype name was Jedi but Disney put a stop to that) Tony is playing with the Fusion and racing suits at the moment. The Apache Scorpion is a "small" Apache, with speed racing in mind, those who have tried it like it.. Will try and get Tony communicating more via the INTERNET but rest assured he is flying, testing and sewing as we speak.. BASEstore.it
  14. shouldn't the dildo, i mean probe be able to rotate into the relative wind (weather vane)? Yuri had done something like this a few years back BASEstore.it
  15. I heard a rumor that inside the FND 10 goodie bag there will ge a pair of Wonder Woman bullet deflecting bracelets. BASEstore.it
  16. Use of the RSL is a personal choice, depends on main canopy, deployment altitudes etc - from a fast spinning mal with a big suit I would want time to get stable before pulling my reserve. BASEstore.it
  17. Good news, Klaus is making Paralog Recon HUD compatible :) So no conversion needed. Plugin, click and look at the graph. I was just playing with the beta but I think it may be live soon (Klaus?) Engage isn't working on my Mac at the moment and even when it does is not very useful for flight analysis. BASEstore.it
  18. Due to the recent incidents involving accidental reserve parachute activations on modified Apache / Rebel wingsuits we are now offering a skydiving modification to Apache and Rebel customers. The Apache and Rebel are the highest performance suits available on the market and were specifically designed for BASE jumping, enclosing the parachute harness inside the suit to improve aerodynamic performance. Some customers have been modifying their suits so they can be used with a skydiving parachute system, exposing the emergency handles through the front of the suit. Such modifications are not recommended by TonySuits. The factory modification involves installing two double slider zips for the harness to sit on the outside of the suit with the emergency handles in their standard positions, as shown in the photos attached. The modification will be performed for free* to existing customers, for all new orders this feature will be an option. * excluding shipping. If you intend to skydive with your Apache / Rebel please contact us to arrange this skydiving modification to be performed on your suit. 40343 Air Time Ave • Zephyrhills, Florida, 33542 phone: 813.788.4753 • fax: 813.788.7112 www.tonysuits.com • patty@tonysuits.com BASEstore.it
  19. Relax. Delays happen, I've been in contact with the Recon team giving feedback on the prototype HUD. They are on the ball and motivated to make a great product - they are not going to run off to Mexico with your money BASEstore.it
  20. I used a prototype unit of the wingsuit Recon today, worked a treat
  21. I found a Recon MOD on ebay and bought it - overall the current version it is not worth buying for WS. It clearly displays horizontal speed and altitude (ASL). BUT when I do speed runs it can't keep up, for normal flying it works most of the time. You need to switch on whilst stationary and the antenna needs to be next to the window during the climb. It also has these annoying pop ups for "air" "max speed".. The good news - there is a new WS friendly version in the pipeline (that Jeb has helped develop) that includes glide ratio too. The Russians also have something in the works: http://cybereyegps.com/index.php/en/ BASEstore.it
  22. Same suit? No, but closely related, they have the same wing planform but the Rebel has the harness on the inside which changes the construction of the suit some what, giving a slight performance advantage. X3 for skydiving & BASE Rebel for BASE BASEstore.it
  23. I think Stoney still deserves a mention! Congratulations Gary! BASEstore.it
