  1. I've had several customers order the reserve slinks by mistake and have not had any problems with them after they were installed. Precision canopies do have a smaller loop at the end each line than PD canopies do so if you have a precision canopy they may be too tight of a fit.
  2. The FAA has made it pretty clear that even a skydiving club must have a commercial pilot. Look in any manual and you will see that a private pilot must pay at least 50% of the operating costs. If someone else pays for rental, feul ect. and the pilot does not get compensated the FAA still considers the "free" hours compensation hence you must be a commercial pilot. To put it simply...if your a private pilot you pretty much have to pay $$ to fly with very litlle exception.
  3. Call USPA and get a coach kit(it's a SIM and IRM).Read thru the IRM(the pink pages) and start working with coaches and instructors. Just watch them to see how they interact with students. There are alot of rating holders out there who do not get paid or paid very little to exercise the privileges of their ratings. They do it out of love for the sport and because they like helping out the up and comers. The better our student retention is the more successful the DZ is. Plus I fully think that people who actively work with students tend to be more heads up and safe. They are constantly teaching the BSR's and the basics and answering all the questions students tend to throw at you helps you think and that thinking things thru process can be the difference between life and death when you experience an emergency. Thats just my 2 cents.....Good Luck with the rating.
  4. Singer 7-33 is a good one to start with...it's easy and there are a couple for sale in the classifieds. I personally have an Adler 205.
  5. Does anyone have a list of the different Wings containers and their different main and reserve pack volumes. The owners manual and their web site does not have that info. Any help is appreciated.
  6. One thing I've found is newies like that are probly just full of crap. They tend to grossly pad their saves or just outright lie thinking that 1 out of every 5 re-packs getting used is the norm. My question to him would be "who is he packing under and why has he let him go 40 pack jobs without getting his ticket?"

    Kim Dear

Hi Kim....I'm glad to hear your doing good and staying strong. You better let me know when your back in St.Louis so we can get the together.
  8. Precision has a neon pink color out there that damn near blinds my whenever I pack one. I have to take eyeball breaks to keep from burning out my retinas...lol
  9. I've made a couple....$250 is what I charged and It was made very similar to a regular containers harness. They really aren't that difficult. to build.
  10. The episodes when Cartman tries to stop them from airing The Family Guy.....that race between Cartman and Kyle is the best ever.
  11. Ok...You wanted a Quantum Leaper to answer....well being at the DZ that day and also being the first person to reach the crash site this is what I can say about the artical. The plane never reached an altitude to arm a cypres, It never got above 100 feet, It lost the engine right after rotation and the plane never reach single engine speed( unfortunately they were already at the end of the runway when this happened) so it was a forced landing, however the yaw even though it was countered quickly put the otter over a subdivision and a forest. Scott had no options but to attempt to land and his only option was a road in the subdivision which was tree lined. This is fact and is what the NTSB and FAA agree with. As he tried to land the right wing caught a tree and catapulted the plane into the ground nose first. Now having thousands of jumps from that palne with Scott flying and knowing just how confident Robert and Dave were in Scott's abilities I'm sure they were giving words of support to the students, but also being very experienced I'm also sure they knew they were in trouble and scared themselves. I thought the artical was overall well written but the author definitly added some artistic and dramatic phases. Now please do me a favor after reading this....This accident is a wound that is still healing, The incident forums beat it to death so please DO NOT respond with questions or discussion about the crash....please keep this thread about the artical only.
  12. Most smart people do ask their rigger to inspect gear prior to buying it. I know that is a serivice that I offer without charge for new jumpers and my regular customers.
  13. Pilot rigs unless they are used at a DZ are almost never kept in date...most are packed once every two years or so. So I replace all the rubberbands, they all get acid and pull tested(and yes I am aware that newer rounds do not need the acid test) so for the extra up keep I charge $10 more.
  14. I charge $50 for the basic re-pack I.E. cable cleaning, new closing loop. I do charge more for pilot rigs and for rush pack jobs.
  15. Fires, heart attacks and vehicle accidents are how I'm spending my Christmas day. A whole 24 hour shift at the firehouse. But on the bright side I do get paid well.
  16. I can't believe you have to ask the question "WHY?"....they are soft..fun to play with....and need I mention , nipples!!!....those are hours of fun!!!......plus thing about boobs from a guys point of view....when guys see boobs we see "girl 1/2 naked" = half the job done.....and that equates to alittle more work and girl is 100% naked
  17. Hot Wild Nasty sex is the best cure for a headache
  18. Hell yes.....Elliot Reed is sooooooo hot......She is the one doctor that I want to get a heria exam from....lol
  19. Broke mine in 2 places in 1996. I was back in the air in 2 months to the day. I still had a limp and just slid all my landings in on my butt for awhile until I was able to run. I had the limp and hip pain for probly over 6 months. What helped me the most was alot of stretching and getting range of motion back from the surgeon cutting the large muscles to put the rod and screws in. Also weight training helped get rid of the limp.
  20. Well I think your getting close to my rig. I had color patterns very similar to your before I settled on what you see below. So obviously you have good taste in colors and rig selection....lol...My vote is container 6 and canopy 4
  21. generally a lite concentration of woollite and water with a soft bistled brush will work wonders.
  22. I thought PISA had sold out to Aerodyne. I was searched for a web site from them and couldn't find it. If you know it could you please post the link to it.
