Thats a no brainer then if he is in training...If it was an oversite on his part to tighten the strap, then thats what the examiner is there for and should always review his instructor canidates, if he was reminded and blew off good advice then I know personally as a Vector/Sigma examiner my decision would be an easy one...Loss of rating and UPT(RWS) would back me up 100%. Any safty violation or poor decision making are both reasons to stop training and pull ratings. If his examiner lets things like that go maybe he needs to be reminded or needs to re-think being an examiner.

Sadly i've seen the butt strap not tightened appropriatly like that several times. All you have to do I kindly remind them of the dangers of students falling out of the harness and that usually corrects the issue.

May I suggest Michelob Lite bottles....they don't break when hit to the head...I know from personal experience

I think I can speak for all guys on DZ.com(or at least most of them anyway) when I say we like it when you get tattoos also because you post pics no matter where they are placed
-
From what my tattoo guy has told me, the tattoos in areas that have alittle extra padding hurt less Unless it's in a normally sensative area like near the nipple. Tats that pass over boney areas are the worst for pain....now what i want to know. Do women get discounts when they bare ass or boobs for a tat?

So the spanking fetish video project is on hold until the Happy Bunny has made your butt it's permanent home?

second guessing yourself is normal for awhile....any good service will pair you with an experienced partner. The best EMT's and medics out there realize their license is not a license to "practice medicine or save lives".. it's a license to learn!! You have chosen a profession where learning and updating your knowledge and skills are a regular on going part of the job. After 18 years as a medic for a very busy department I still get surprised and learn from patients on a regular basis.............Have fun in class and keep the enthusiasm going.

neither was I ....Hans gave me the crippling beat(I should have known he had the nut flush..Damn it)...Haven't been knocked out that quick in a long time.....Hopefully the late game gives me alittle better luck.

I'll try and not take you out again....maybe i'll go for the person on your right..unless it's me

How long before you were back???
skybeergodd replied to Myrka's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My only lay off was a broken femur from a stupid low hook turn. I was jumping again 4 weeks to the day I broke it. I borrowed a larger canopy and landed on my butt until I was able to run. It's the longest lay off I've ever had. -
Reserve inspection & repack turnaround time?
skybeergodd replied to angrypeppers's topic in Gear and Rigging
When I worked as my DZ's full time rigger I generally wanted 5 days, you could leave it on a Sunday and pick it up on Friday. If you needed or wanted it turned around faster then there wasa rush service charge. There were some exceptions that I would make and of course my good rigging customers(my regulars) usually got the rush service for free as a thank-you for being a regular customer. -
Flushing is the term we use meaning on a two JM dive if exit or freefall goes bad then 1 JM lets go. It's much easier for 1 JM to flip over a student on whoes on their back. Once the student is back belly to earth then the other JM can fly back into their slot.
-
what type of plane is that? kinda looks like a beech99....also on video it looked as if the reserve side JM left a little late and if that plane had any speed on jumprun that almost always leads to a tumble....looks as if those two need to work on "flushing" off a student. I personally like reserve side flushes and main gets control, so there is no guess work as to who is really in control,,exit starts to go bad and the reserve side knows to flush, get away from any potential tumble and immediately start getting back into the open what ever side it's on after the tumble. I've got almost 1000 AFF JM jumps and I really can not think of a good reason for a student to be alone in freefall except for poor JM communication, poor JM flying or in very rare instances-equipment emergencies. On the positive note...your original reason to post this(the student being heads up) was right on..She did an excellent job staying heads up and remembering her ground training.

10 mins at the most from the DZ I grew up on....but since it's closed now it's 112 miles and 2 hours to my new home DZ......I went from being able to go on a 15 min. call from home and make the load to driving 2 hours....oh well, you do what you have to to jump.

because some dumb ass money grubbing lawyers have turned our society into a "someone also is at fault" society. If someone's at fault that means there is someone to sue and those law suits cause havoc to everyone but those pocket lining idiots.....The sad part now is thats just the norm for society even if there is no lawsuit....I believe Shakespeare in Henry VI when he wrote "We should start by killing all the lawyers"

I just filled up at $2.41 per gallon, St.Louis area....actually I filled up both vehicles and my lawn equipment gas conainter too....it's the lowest it's been in a long time.

I have replaced a couple voodoo pouches. The definitly have to get the replacement pouch from Rigging Innovations. I thought about making one but after looking at it and getting the price from RI I realized it was going to cost about the same and RI gets the parts out qickly. Once you have the pouch replacing it is no big deal at all. As far as how long it lasts, that depends on how much abuse it takes but it should last quiet along while.I have rigs with over 1000 jumps on them and still have no issues with the BOC spandex.

PT-6 UNSUITABLE for Skydiving!?!?! WHAT!?!?
skybeergodd replied to Unstable's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
6 are sueing...5 with 1 lawyer and 1 with their own....right now all lawsuits are stalled and not doing anything because the lawyers have realized the two deep pockets they actually thought they could get money out of have no liabilty in the cause of the crash. So they know it does them no good to get a huge judgement against a dead person or defunct corporation so the lawyers have slowed down the process and are trying to keep it out of court right now. -

PT-6 UNSUITABLE for Skydiving!?!?! WHAT!?!?
skybeergodd replied to Unstable's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There are alot of them in use today in the skydiving industry. There have only been just a couple crashes with them. Pilot error is the big reason, in the case of Perris Valley it was contaminated fuel and in Our case(Sullivan's) there was a another reason that because of the lawsuits it's not appropriate for me to discuss here in a public forum but it was not engine failure that caused the fire and resulting crash. The Twin otters and PT-6's have proven themselves over many years of skydiving use to be a good and reliable engine and aircraft.....To my knowledge there was only 1 aircraft designed with skydiving in mind, the Pac750...so if you want to follow PW argument that the PT-6 and otter was not designed for skydiving then all Cessnas, Cassa, Caravan Ect. Ect. should be replaced with Pac750's....and the otters were mostly made before skydiving was popular..60's and 70's so I'm sure skydiving use wasn't even a thought to them just as skydiving use wasn't even a thought for Cessna. -
PT-6 UNSUITABLE for Skydiving!?!?! WHAT!?!?
skybeergodd replied to Unstable's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm very well aware of the lawsuit from the Twin Otter crash in Sullivan that did generate a law suit naming Pratt Whitney among several others. PW did send a letter to Gary Robb(the piece of shit lawyer who drummed up the lawsuit) stating that the PT-6 was never ment for the kind of use that skydiving operations impose on them. The multiple shut down and restarts along with all the takeoff and landings, went outside the realm of what the engine was designed for.....This was PW's attempt to cover their butt in the lawsuit and try to pass the buck onto someone else. -
I can't believe no one has said it yet....The garage is the "Man Room" of the house...beer drinking, loud talk, scratching yourself, poker playing...all acceptable behavior in the man room. Cars, tool and a beer fridge, now thats heaven...lol

It's my penis and I'll wash it as long as I want to......but you are right, uncut is prone to more infection...Glad my parents had me cut as an infant because after so many years of keeping sharp objects away from that area there's no way could I have it done as an adult.
