I used to take my books to work and study between calls....But also working the 24 hour shift schedule gives you alot of time off to study and go to school so it wasn't hard for me.

What I've found to be common is pawn shops....People pawn their gear and the pawn shops fequently list specialized items for sale on e-bay and don't know a thing about them.....I have 3 pawn shop owners who bring me gear that they get for a description and appraisal( i also check to see that it is not listed as stolen) before they list them on e-bay or craigslist. With the number of feedbacks this guy has, I'd almost bet he is a pawn shop owner or one of those e-bay store owners(the people who will sell your stuff for you on e-bay)

Juki are great machines...they are alittle more expensive that other brands.

Sorry about throwing the bad beat down on you......It's been forever since I've finished 1st...plenty of 2nds and 3rds.........It really was a damn fun game though...lots of lead changes.

If you can find a Singer 20U33 or 20U73 out there for a reasonable price I'd recommend those....they are a great all around machine( stright and zigzag)...the other machines sound fine. Personally I use a Singer 212W140 for all my double needle work and absolutely love that one....I just all comes down to personal preference, durability and repairability....those are the big factors I look at when considering a machine.

CRW toggles are often very long and set-up to fit sport gear.....That could help the toggle issue. My biggest fear would be if her arms are that short would her flare be effective even at the low wing loading....would she have the strength to adiquately flare and if needed take wraps to get a good flare? I think the idea of the RC for the main deployment is probly the easiest and best fix without any mods. needed.

I have to give the group of people that do our dispatching some good props....they dispatch for 14 fire depts. in St.Louis county and are busier than hell....they are all EMDs and actually do pass along some pretty good info and their professional gut feelings about what really is going on and they are usually right....believe me, I've done this job long enough to know that dispatchers are just as important as the people they are dispatching.....I do get really frustrated at the stupid reason people call 911 and the higher ups who act like idiots when a person calls and complains about the firefighter or medic who educated them on their in-appropirate use of 911. Instead of standing up for their personel they side with the 911 idiot.

I know....I've been apologized to several times at 03:00 by dispatchers after being sent on total BS calls that they knew were BS......The BS 911 calls got so bad in St.Louis City that they formed a 411 line. If someone had a non emergency they could call 411 or if they called 911 for BS they would get transferred to a 411 dispatcher and their calls would be triaged and as emergency equipment became available they might get one and the callers would be given directions to handle their own issues( directions to ocal urgent care clinics, doctor office phone numbers, taxi numbers,social services phones #, ect.....seems to work great. I wished the rest of the country would follow suit. Once idiots realize they won't get the first available ALS unit running lights and sirens to their house every time they throw up, then they start dealing with their own minor issues themselves and they leave the emergency services for the true emergencies........Just think how how many lives could be saved if the person with dyspnea or chest pains got the 1st ALS unit instead of having to wait because some idiot with a headache or toothache felt like they would get treated faster in the ER if they showed up in an ambulance.

I thank the dispatchers every time they send me an a nausea/vomitting at 03:00( 3 AM for those who don't use military time) or the evry morning 05:30 (I don't want to go to work so I'll call 911) sickcase headache........I do know they are just doing their job but I really wished they could tell the caller they don't need an Ambulance let alone and Ambulance to transport them to an ER. I wished they could tell the caller to put their stupid ,lazy asses in a car and take themselves to the doctor or urgent care clinic..........I know that on a true emergency they are in valuable at getting info and getting pre-arrivals started. Anyway my rant is over and ...Happy Dispatchers week
