I have over 2500 reserve packjobs and countless patches, repairs, harness adjustments and I'm proud to say that I use tool checklists on a regular basis, but I have made them into my rigging receipt so the customer sees everything.

Putting your name and number on a molar strap is indicating that you considered losing it was a possibility. Thats just crazy because there is only 1 place you use it .
-
3 different riggers... The first 2 I contacted the rigger, this last one the owner wanted the priviledge of notifying their "former" rigger.

Look what some generous rigger left for me to find. This packing paddle was left between the fold of a VTCII 360. This is my 3rd tool to find during inspections and re-packs. Now all I need is a temp pin, locking pull up cord and knee plate and I'll have found my a nice second set of tools. Becareful out there people, tool check lists are made for a reason!!!!!!

The politics, the BS you have to deal with every day with a smile on your face, the lack of sleep, mandatory overtime, and dumb ass dinosaur chief officers with a high school education or lower that got promoted simply due to years of service that expect you to actually follow their idiotic commands.....besides that it's a great job!!!! I've been a professional paramedic/firefighter 23 years now. If it wasn't for getting promoted when I did, I would have left a long time ago. I, to this day have no clue how some of those guys make it 30 years as a private or engineer, those guys are the real hardcore fellas!!

Thats a good question. For me it would have to be the original Wonderhog, Safety Flyer reserve and Sratocloud Delta. That was my old intentional water landing rig. I still have it and everytime I look at it I can't believe I actually used it...lol

I did ground someone after two big acts of stupidity the last one ended in two canopies out and a downplane in, which he survived with just cuts and alot of bruising. Two weeks later he was at the DZ working on his re-training to have the grounding lifted when I heard him bragging about his "no S**T there I was story". I filled out a fatality report , gave it to him and said all that was missing was the date. He went to another DZ that let him jump and got his fatality report dated. He definitly was a DGIT that transitioned to just a DG.

HELLLLP!!!..Anyone an expert with Excel Documents
skybeergodd replied to skybeergodd's topic in The Bonfire
You hit the nail on the head....I really have no clue, all your computer talk might as well be in japanese. I have spent days hitting the help button, following commands ect. ect. and it's just never worked. There is always one small little detail thats left out or "doesn't apply in this particular situation" that screws everything up. computers are not an area of expertise for me. I mean I can write out directions on how to place a surgical airway and I can follow those direction without a problem, but those same directions would be meaningless to someone without a base knowledge of anatomy and general surgery. -
HELLLLP!!!..Anyone an expert with Excel Documents
skybeergodd replied to skybeergodd's topic in The Bonfire
My problem isn't just 1 row or column....I had over 4000 rows in the C and D columns that needed to be merged. Doing that 1 row at a time would have taken forever. -

There was a picture in Parachutist I believe that had a couple jumpers under canopy trailing a line of sparkling fireworks behind them. Can anyone tell me what issue this was , or does anyone have a link to the pic?

I charge $250 for my fee and that for Vector/Sigma rating and USPA. That also includes use of my rig if needed.

Or an all time high ....think of it this way. A drunk guy, beer in hand and bare boobs all around thought enough of you to dial your number. I know from personal experience that it's hard for any guy at a strip bar to have any thoughts beyond their next beer and how big the next dancers boobs are.

I have no clue who you are or what your credential are, but two blaringly obvious things stand out about your posts. #1. You obviously have some aerodynamic background and know the math needed to reach an empirical answer ...and #2(here's the biggy!!!) Not a single person here posting has attempted to dispute you, and that says more than anything because some of these knuckleheads will dispute everything. All I can say is thanks for the info. I'm a master rigger and you've taught(and given me some great info) me a few things about drag and openings. Keep the info flowing!!

Just one helpful rule that i make PERFECTLY CLEAR when I do a tandem course, #1 rule--they guy that throws the drouge is in control!!! Basic translation--when I ride the front and the candidate screws up and I have to throw the drogue, the guy on the back is now the passenger, ALL the handles for the rest of the jump are now mine. That is just one rule I have during my courses but it is my 1st and golden rule....before anyone asks, if the candidate throws the drouge and the canopy malfunctions on opening the rule then is TALK before you ACT. Tandems open high for a reason, use that extra altitude and talk thru it. I have had malfunctions while on the front and candidates have done just fine with emergency proceedures after we decided that a cut away was needed.

yeah.... I do alot of hardware buying from them...they are by the roll only.
-
I'm doing a repair and need type 13 and type 8 webbing in white. Does anyone know where I can buy several yards of each. The only place I found with those sizes in white sell by the roll only and I don't need nearly that much. Aerostore, paragear and sunshine factory do not carry white. I want to keep the option of contacting manufactures as an absolute last resort. I have found trying to buy raw materials from manufacturers a HUGE nightmare. Thanks for the help.

Making fun of skydivers who died
skybeergodd replied to captain1976's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Many fire departments in the US also run the EMS service as well. In fire department I work for everyone is dual trained, a firefighter and a paramedic. One day you might be on the engine or ladder truck, the next day you might be on the ambulance.....Even if the fire dept. does not run the EMS service, most respond to potential life threating calls as extra help and because they may be closer and faster to the scene. -
Lost Vector and Rigger with nail in foot at Sibson ?
skybeergodd replied to steveroome's topic in Gear and Rigging
I would have done that if I ever thought someone would just leave their rig for 4 years.....That is a good idea and something I'm definitly going to look into. -
Lost Vector and Rigger with nail in foot at Sibson ?
skybeergodd replied to steveroome's topic in Gear and Rigging
I have 2 rigs right now that seem to have been abandoned. One I've had for 3 years and a another one for 4 years.....I make it known to all jumpers when they drop their rigs off for a inspection and re-pack or any repairs that they have 30 days after I inform them thats it's ready for pick-up. After that I charge $1 a day storage fee.......I can't wait for the owner of the 4 year storage fee rig pays off that $1500(rig isn't even worth that much)
