Mudflap. You rigger should be be able to make you something really cool for it, too. Easy Does It

I get asked that question- "What if both of your chutes fail completely?" from the whuffos. So I tell them - "Then I die". And I do it with a straight face. Seems to blow thier mind, that I'm not in denial about the hazards of the sport. But I don't dwell on it. We've addressed the subject at home- The folks/kids know what should be done, - and not done. 'nuff said. Easy Does It

We also have several models of packing machines being tested at Sky Knights, with more to come in the spring, including one I'll be importing personally from New York. Unfortunately, I can offer no pictures at this time. And the NY model is rather new, so it will be authorized to do nothing for skydivers except pack. (Even though it shows the potential.) It's amazing what you can do with a $5.00 bill Easy Does It

I throw mine in a corner of the den at the house, usually resting on top of my gear bag, with the pilot chute out. ( I hear it helps keep the elastic from getting worn out-) The temp in there stays around 68-75 degrees F, and the humidity in the house is usually around 40-70% depending on the time of year. Now, in the summer it might spend a day behind the seat of my truck if I'm planning on jumping after work, but in that case I cover it well (Haven't got a regular gear bag yet-) or I bring it into the plant and keep it in the shop office, which well air-conditioned. My goals this year are to get my Coach rating, and my D ticket by September. (I'm not as concerned about the D, though.) The sheer number of jumps I do I'm not to concerned about, as long as I learn, and my skills improve, so I can be the best coach I can be. If I can get my D by the end of September, cool, if not, no biggie, the sky isn't going anywhere. I think it would be very cool to get my Tandem rating by the time my daughter, Sarah (Child # 2 of 3) turns 18 so I can take her on her first skydive. That would be June 21, 2005. Think that's a reasonable goal? Easy Does It

0:0:0 Nothing incredible to report - Things have been a little tense between the wife and I - No jumps - Clouds were too damn low - Bought the wife a remote starter for her new Trailblazer and made the appointment to get it installed - Still waiting, hoping she tells me to go ahead and order a new jumpsuit or something- Little does she know I already did. (I'm saving $$ from scrap metal here at the shop to pay for it-) Took her to see The Recruit Sat nite. Good flick! Won't be able to jump for a few weeks, Reserve is almost due for a repack and the Cypres is due for 8-yr and batteries - So I took it all apart last night and will be shipping the AAD out today. Good time to do other stuff to the container too- Didn't drink as much beer as I usually on the weekend. Easy Does It

First let me say Welcome Back! I don't have a whole lot of experience, but the trend seems to be going away from ROL, due to bridle exposure etc. And if you freefly, this becomes even more of a hazard. I would continue with stretching excercises. If you do a search, you may find something on stretching, and there is an article in Parachutist on stretching, also, published a year or so ago- Blue Ones, Easy Does It

Fu#*ing Pig, I wanna put a bullet through his head.

I've had my share of woodchuck- We used to shoot them at long range for the reasons you mentioned - They dig holes, which break legs on your cattle or horses, and can break axles on tractors, too. 500+ yard shots weren't uncommon. (We'd have made pretty good snipers, come to think of it!) Meat is kinda dark, and strong flavored, with a bit of a tang to it, depending on what they had been eating. The older ones taste like shit - we just threw 'em to the dogs. The younger ones were more tender and less gamey. Stew was the way to go. Easy Does It -
Maintenance supervisor for a thermplastic elastomer compounding company. The company I work for makes little rubber pellets, the raw materials for molding and film companies, which eventually find thier way into consumer products, such has baby bottle nipples, cap liners, razor and toothbrush handles, synthetic wine corks, lots of kids' toys, tool handles, diapers, medical products, etc. If you drink Gatorade, or use any products made by Gillette, or Oral B, or you know or have a child that wears those new Huggies Ultra diapers, or your toolbox holds a drill made by Black and Decker or DeWalt, odds are our product is in there. My crew and I keep the machines running. Wee are all multi-talented folks, and our skills include general mechanics, as well as welding, fabricating, pipefitting and electrical work. Pretty much a bunch of millwrights. Easy Does It

Hey There- I, Like Michelle, have been jumping a Spectre since student status also - You don't say what your loading will be, but if it's fairly moderate, I think you'll really like it. PDs demo program rocks, and the people there are very cool. You may want to consider a SabreII also, if you have the coin. Easy Does It

Clouds. Damn clouds. This is what happens when water evaporates. Easy Does It

We had nice evening, ladies and gentlemen - Right now I have coffee brewing, and she is still sound asleep. She likes to sleep in on Saturdays. I haven't breached the subject of of any new equipment, but I doubt it will be a problem. Are you going to the DZ today, lady? Easy Does It
-
She'll come to the DZ once in a while when it's REALLY warm- she's a major shiver bug- (Libyan descent-) But right now thnigs are warming up nicely- GOTTA GO! I'll let you know how the rest of the evening turns out- Easy Does It

Actually, that's probably how it works out- After the fact she says, "Gee that was alot of money-" And I say " yeah- but it's what you'd like, we can afford it, so it's worth it" Then I got the thank you-!!!!! WOO HOO! Now about the jumpsuit-- But right now we're heading out again- for cocktails- This may not be so bad after all!! Easy Does It

Oh yes - we will defintiely talk about it- the evening is far from over, and I don't have to work tomorrow. I defintiely plan on burning up some sky. Easy Does It

I did it again- Some of you might recall I got the wifey a 2002 Trailblazer, mostly because her old car was- well- old, and I figured if I can handle the payment, and she's happy, it should make for some pretty good brownie points. Well, she's really missing the remote starter she had on the Monte Carlo, so I made a few calls today to see about getting one installed in the Trailblazer. Warning to any one considering a new GM vehicle. It's gonna cost about a hundred bucks extra to get an alarm, remote starter, etc. installed because of the new technology GM is using to prevent theft, etc. So tonite I plunk down about 400 bones to fullfill her request, and now she is getting the starter installed next Saturday. I'm hoping she tells me to go ahead and order that new jumpsuit, or the BoneHead, or the Pro-Track. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! All I get is -- "So where are we going for dinner?" (We eat out every Friday night-) How about a "thank-you" ? Maybe I should tell her Hooters. Or find a strip bar with a buffet- And think she might say- "Weather looks like it might be nice- Go ahead and jump" ? Guess again! Am I doing something wrong here? Or should I just tell her- "We just got done spending over twenty grand on you, I'm going to spend the day at the DZ-" Or would keeping my pie hole shut be cheaper than a divorce? Man- Well, I suppose it could be worse- I could have a sharp stick poking me in the eye- Thanks for listening, folks! Easy Does It

Very sweet- Your Mom seems wonderful and Dad must have been a very special person, too. Hope I get to meet Mom someday? Hugs to everyone! -Lenny Easy Does It

Sky Knights gives memebers a buck or two off guest prices - King Air jumps were 20 bones each for guests, 18 for members. I think the rates will go up a buck when the Otter comes this spring. Easy Does It

Beautiful. Absolutely Beautiful! My money is on him not showing. Whne he says "let me see what my schedule looks like" , well, My bet is he'll have something. My reply when someone gave me that (when I was in sales-) was something like, "Let's get our Dayrunners out and make it happen". But I can't wait to hear the outcome! Rock On, Michelle! Easy Does It

Yeah, me too- I'll probably put the Sporty back on the road in March sometime if the wx clears up decently- Easy Does It

Coldest I can say I've been is 18 - on the ground- Don't know how cold it was at altitude. With the wind chill it probably at the "damnf*ckingcold" point, maybe cooler. Easy Does It

1:2:0 Weekend started out nicely, with two jumps on Saturday, Cold, but I got a pair of neoprene gloves that work GREAT, exceot I have to use two hands to open the lid on my Z-1. Don't know how cold it was, I think the temp on the ground was about 20-30 or something. No biggie. Stayed around the house Sunday, went to a friends' house for the game, won 100 bones in the pool at work! Monday wasn't so bad!! Easy Does It
