  1. L&B is the way to go for AAs, hands down. Helmets- I own a Z-1 and love it, I've had it for over a year now, and have had no problems, although I have heard some negative reports on the earlier models. The features I like best are the dual AA pockets and the easy-opening face. I can open it under canopy with one hand, wearing gloves, in about one second. Closing is even easier, just flip it down and it snaps shut. I've even left the aircraft with it open, and just reached up (with two hands to keep from rolling) and flipped it shut. No biggie! On my shopping list is a MindWarp, though. I want to get an open-face for the summer months, and this would be my #1 choice, based on popular opinion, both form and fit, and customer service kudos. 2. I missed it but Jessie ROCKS! One reason I love my job is I get to build stuff all the time- My only wish is I would get the projects he does. Easy Does It
  3. A Lone Star? But you're an AGGIE! Don't you mean a Shiner? Personally, I don't drink either Bud or Miller Lite - Unless it's free! Easy Does It

    PULL or DIE...

I've got a Cypress, but jump as if I don't. I've jumped without them before, and probably will again. No biggie. Easy Does It
  5. 5:0:? No jumping but a great weekend - Took the wife down to Chicago. Shopping on the Mag Mile, listed to blues at Buddy Guys' Legends, had brunch and Bloody Marys at Millers Pub, walked along the waterfront and had more drinks atop the Hancock. Very good weekend- We really needed it! Easy Does It

  8. Sky Knights is $18.00 for members, and $20.00 for non-members, to 13,500' AGL. There was a thought to raise them to $19.00 and $21.00 respectively, once the Twotter gets here, but it was decided to keep it the same. Other DZ's in the area charge $20 - 21.00, to 12,500'. So we're a pretty good deal I suppose. Easy Does It
  9. Damn- So far down the list! 0:2:1 Two jumps Saturday, in great weather for a change. Case for a brand new jumpsuit. (Zute Sute) Also passed my C license test - WooHoo! Just have to finish filling out the paperwork. Blues! Easy Does It
  10. Just after exit, when I can look back at the plane and watch the others dive out to join me - It's such a great feeling, like all your friends running out on the playground at recess. One of the best momints of a good canopy ride I love is seeing my shadow fly across the ground- Pink Floyd starts going through my head every time. Easy Does It
  11. 212 I know I'm going staight to hell - Guess this goes to show how fast! Anyone care to join me? Easy Does It
  12. 0:1:0 One COLD hop-n-pop from 5k - 15 deg F on the ground - Don't know how cold at altitude - and one case of PC hesitaion / -in-tow that cleared itself just as I went for the handles. Interesting. Glad I jumped - It was one of the most exhilerating I've had to date! Easy Does It
  13. You do the crime, you do the time, man - I'm sure he weighed the risk/vs reward, and is prepared do take his lumps. Easy Does It
  14. OK This is what I do - It's works for me but what you do is up to you- No RSL - Mostly just because I bought my rig without one, and never bothered to have one put on. I guess it might be a good idea, but it's up to you- Cypres - I prefer one myself. PC in tow - Look over my shoulder then go for both the handles. More opinions? Seek and ye shall find-- Easy Does It

    Children

The choices given didn't exactly refelct my circumstances, either- 1 son, Esau, 11, Living with Mom in Western New York- 1 daughter, Sarah, going on 16, living with Mom but will be coming out to Illinois to live with Sharon and I in June. (And can't wait to make her first jump!) 1 daughter, Liz, 18, a freshman at Fredonia State in NY - I hardly ever hear from her unless she needs money- And 1 stepson, Chris, 22, who is living with us-
  16. Sweet site! No doubt it's going to get alot of use. One suggestion if I may - Could temps be stated in deg. F instead of deg C? Nothing against the metric system, I'm just not very good at converting temps in my head - A wind chill chart might be handy, too, for us crazies that think jumping in sub-zero weather is fun. But mostly thanks for a great weather site! I can take weather.com off my bookmarks. Easy Does It
  17. Nothing to worry about- In my line of work I'm routinely on ladders and scissors lifts, stuff like that, and I still get the willies from time to time. But stepping off at 14 grand is like stepping off the escalator for me- No biggie- Don't lose any sleep - it's natural- Easy Does It

  24. My .02 - I can't wear my glasses under my Z-1. So I wear contacts to the DZ. I have never had any problem with that. I even open my visor while under canopy, and while I might get a little dryness, nothing else has happened. I do keep a bottle of rewetting drops in my gear bag. My suggestion is, make sure you've got the right contacts, and keep 'em wet. Then you can wear any helmet you want, and some cool sunglasses while wlaking around on the ground. Easy Does It
  25. I skydive and she sits at home having anxiety attacks. She would love it if I quit, I think she should try some Prozac on jumping weekends- Easy Does It
