  1. I give them a very quick scan if it's a DZ I've never been to before, and that's about it. "Yeah, I know this shit can get me killed- Tell me what I owe and put me on the next load." Easy Does It
  2. No, not at all. At least I don't see anyting wrong with it. Easy Does It
  3. You must become one with the canopy - Don't force it - Handle it sweetly and gently, and it will flow into the bag. There is a certain Zen to it. The more you fight it, the more it will fight back. The less you fight it, the easier it will go in. Then, there is the magic trick - Go into your nearest packing shed waving five or six bucks in the air, and the canopy will almost pack itself! Easy Does It
  4. Take a roll of TP with ya and dump it out under canopy! Whuffos love it and I hear some pilots will try to buzz it- Easy Does It
  5. Dude - I think you're freaking yourself out. Relax - Don't look at the ground - It's not going anywhere - Present yourself to the wind, arch, and dig it. Look up at the plane, and odds are there will be some one looking at you from the door. Flip him or her off, you got it nailed, then dump. - Nice effect if they have a camera on you. Now enjoy a sweet canopy ride. Go back to the packing shed and repeat the process. You now have a new way to enjoy low-ceiling days.
  6. We're going car shopping for Sharon. Then dinner and an evening out. Funny - I thought we bought her a car about this time last year? Easy Does It
  7. Coffee - Light with no sugar. Don't annoy me or ask questions of a technical nature before I've had at least two cups and you've seen me smile at least twice. Easy Does It
  8. You gonna tell him so to his face? Fifty says you don't walk away from it! Easy Does It
  9. I went Static Line, (more jumps for the buck-) scrounged scrap metal, pinched pennies, quit smoking, and still work 5-10 hours of OT every week to pay for this habit. Took out a personal loan to buy my rig. (It's paid off now.)
  10. Forgot about that detail! (I do mostly industrial stuff myself.) I'm surprised they didn't specify an open-wall inspection. (That's what the local code calls for here on remodels-) Makes it easier for the inpspector to ding you and easier to fix said dings.
  11. Run a separate 20 amp circuit for the A/C / space heater. It's a pain in the ass, but you need to do it. Fires suck. Code says outlets can't any more than 6ft away from whatever they have plugged into them, hence the 12' spacing. I forget what the minimum height is - I put mine in at 24" in most places. 12 gauge wire for your 20 amp circuits - 14 for the light circuits. Use stranded wire if you can, it has better load-carrying capabilites and is alot easier to work with than solid. Do not exceed 20 amps total on a circuit wired with 12 ga and 15 amps total for a circuit wired with 14 gauge. A cool little book to keep on hand is "Ugly's Electrical References". Available at your local electrical supply house, for less than 20 bones. Lots of info, easy to use, pocket size book, and way easier to read then the NEC. Much cheaper, too.
  12. Yeah - This kid is in here too - I'm just cleaning up in the office to things have a slight resemblance of order - During the week everything goes to shit and my desk gets buried. Easy Does It
  13. Maintenance should be the #1 priority for everyone. Important for myself as a 4-way addict is the door. Fast planes are cool, and cheap jump tickets are always welcome. But I like an Otter-sized door. Easy Does It
  14. Death. That's about all I can think of. Or a really really bad injury.
  15. You have to admire thier ingenuity. Sounds like they should be on Monster Garage! Not too easy to make a 4,000 pound-plus vehicle seaworthy! (well, sort of seaworthy, anyway-) You know they had a very limited budget, too.
  16. I'm only 41 - but I am lucky I don't look or feel or behave that way!
  17. Probably Grandpa, or "Hey, old fart!"
  18. Yep - She called today, she's excited - Little sister Sarah (The daughter who lives with us-) and brother Esau think it's pretty cool, too. Easy Does It
  19. Awhile back some of may have read an excited post by me, about my daughter Liz expecting - Twins! Since that post, she moved to Alaska (where Mom lives) and her man just arrived last night. She went to see the sawbones today and got the ultrasound thing done. Yep - Twins Indeed! And both BOYS!! Far out, eh?? Life is so interesting!! At first I was full of dread, etc. about my "Big Girl" - Now I'm getting used to it and it's pretty cool! Twin boys - Sweet!

  22. I have the NexGen from Jackson. It's really saved my neck. It's got the biggest window I've found. I also put a 1.75 power magnifying lens in, for those tiny-ass TIG welds on stainless steel. I have to admit it took a little getting used to, but it was well worth it.
  23. One of the reasons I love my chiropractor. My neck gives me problems from nodding my welding helmet down and doing other stupid things with my neck/spine. So I've got a kickass auto-darkening welding helmet now, and I jump a Spectre. Easy Does It
  24. I've used that method many times myself. Very effective. Hey - Ken, Pam, Sarah and I will be in Orlando March 29th - April 1st. Two hours in the tunnel and some jumping at Deland and/or Z-hills. Easy Does It
  25. No sweat - Cool rig in the avatar, too, man! Easy Does It
