  1. I was found in a trash compactor - I was being raised by a family of sewer rats and a long-haired Afgan wolfhound before DCFS stepped in. After that I was placed in foster care where I was forced to sleep in a bathtub with a dripping faucet and a family with constant explosive diarrea. It was there I was christened "Dumpster". When people would stop by and ask "where did that ugly bastard come from" and the family told them "The Dumpster". In school I was called "The Dumpster Kid" and later it just got shortened to "Dumpster". - Hey, you asked!!! Easy Does It
  2. You explained that very well! Thanks to everyone for some awesome help. C-ya at the tunnel!! -Lenny Easy Does It
  3. Thanks a mil! Great help! no Roman Chair at my gym (just an incline board for sit-ups and crunches-) But we do have fitness balls - Never used 'em really but I'm open to suggestions! Easy Does It
  4. This is going to be interesting, Four of us have two hours over two days scheduled at Orlando. I've been pretty good about getting to the gym 3-5 times a week, 20-40 minutes worth of cardio and weight training. We will be bringing an economy-size bottle of ibuprofin and copious amounts of water - Some one mentioned lower-back excercises - What specifically might be the most helpful? Easy Does It
  5. Looks like a "Super Can" to me - - - Easy Does It
  6. A 3.5 hp Briggs-powered mini-bike. Screwed around with some 175- 450 dirt bikes just a little. First REAL bike was a 440 Kawi, that lasted about a week before it blew up. Didn't ride for a realy long time until I purchased my Sportster new in '99. Still own it. Easy Does It
  7. Great post, Bill!! It was about 14 years ago, when I had my first opportunity to skydive. I was stationed at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul. (How ironic it would eventually become home to the WFFC!) I was married to mt first wife at the time and had two young daughters, but even so I managed to save up the money for the first jump. Then I got reassigned and the bucks had to go toward my moving expenses. That was almost 14 years ago. I never knew how much I was missing until I finally started jumping four years ago. Wow! As far as all this talk of litigation, etc. This is what I feel and I'll repeat what I've said before - Real skydivers don't sue. It is up to the individual jumper to take responsibility for his or her own skydive. Your most important piece of safety equipment is between your ears. Use it on every jump. Easy Does It

  10. 0:1:0 Worked Saturday morning and found out I've got a 200hp DC motor ready to go belly-up. Picked Sarah up from the mall and got to the DZ just in time to make the last load. One jump from 12,500'. Sharon scored a case of Red Bull for me from Sams'. The sugar-free kind, so Sarah won't be ganking it on me. Spent Sunday in the garage finishing the doors for the kitchen cabinets, then the dish guy came and hooked me up. 180 channels, 8 HBO, 6 or 8 Cinemax, and a whole bunch of other stuff - 3 receivers including 1 DVR receiver - Couch potato city!! Spent the rest of the day figgering out the remote. Still can't find the all-skydiving channel. This is so much fun! Easy Does It

I'm holding a General class ticket right now, KB2NYA. I was fairly proficient at code, I think my speed was around 20 or so when I was on 40 and 80 on a regular basis. Haven't used it in a while so I'd have a challenge even with 5. I still have my Bencher paddle with the MFJ memory keyer built in. I'd have to get on the air and really listen for awhile. I used to be able to copy in my head and just write down the important stuff like call and QTH. For some reason I've been able to resist selling my equipment for jump money and stuff. _.. . _._ _... .._ _ _ _. _._ _ ._ ..._._ Easy Does It

You guys have alot of 10m repeaters out that way? I love ten meters HF 'cuz it's so hot during the day and when the sunspot numbers are up - Too bad they're sinking right now. By the time they're rocking again I should have a tribander up at around 35-40 feet in addition to the GAP. I wish I had room for a longwire for 40 and 80. Easy Does It

Man, I haven't been on the air in years - Everything is sitting here next to me - Ten-Tec 580 Delta, and a GAP vertical in the backyard, all ready with the flick of a switch. All I ever really did was casual HF work. Easy Does It
  14. Let's see - 135 jumps at 20 a pop - $2,700.00 New jumpsuit - 200 bones- 200.00 Meet entry fees - about 100 I guess 100.00 Rig maintenance - about 200? 200.00 total about 3,200.00 clams This year should be much better - We're starting out with a trip to Orlando and two hours in the tunnel plus a day or so at Deland and/or Z-Hills Edit to add - Never thought to factor in food at DZ's, beer, gas to and from DZ's, etc. Probably takes the total over four grand I'm sure. 15. I'm with ya there, man! We're at the top of the food chain, and it is GOOD! Better yet, we live in a country where can eat pretty much anything we want to, any time we want to. That makes it even BETTER!! I beleive in eating responsibly - But why deny yourself the simple pleasures of tasty meat, cooked and seasoned any way you like? Easy Does It
  16. So far so good, no one has pissed me off yet and I'm finishing my second cup of coffee already! Easy Does It
  17. It's my second time around, and I'm sorry to say I'm not as happy the second time as I was the first. Not totally unhappy, but it's not exactly bliss, either. Easy Does It

  22. The tickets are paid for - Tunnel time is booked - I've got a pocket full of jump money. Four of us, including my daughter Sarah, are headed to Florida. Monday March 29th we arrive at Orlando and have reservations at Emerils'. Tuesday at 5:30 is our first hour in the tunnel followed by a day at either Z-hills or Deland. Wednesday the second hour is from 11:00 until noon. Then a few more jumps. Thursday we come back to Illinois. Sarah will be getting ready to start AFF. The other three of will be getting some solid RW coaching. Beer will be owed. We should be free to do some mid-week partying Tuesday and/or Wednesday evening. Any suggestions?? Easy Does It
  23. Two jumps - One Saturday and one Sunday - No major events otherwise. Worked in the garge, picked up the plates for daughter Sarah's car, yadda yadda. See the post coming to a forum near you about our upcoming Florida journey!
