  1. Sounds like a drunk dare from one of his buds in the car - Did they look like college students? Easy Does It
  2. I used to get those little toy paratroopers out of gumball machines when I was kid, and my friends and I would talk about jumping out of planes and off of buildings and stuff. Geez - Look at us now!
  3. Club jumper here, too! 18 bones to full altitude when we have a turbine in for the summer, and the Turbocharged Cessna 182 goes to full alti for 14 bucks if I remember right. Hop-n-pops are 7 bucks, and we're one of the few DZ'z in the area to fly all year around. Easy Does It
  4. Never leave a logbook lying out unattended. unless you really enjoy some very weird entries into said logbook.... Easy Does It
  5. I've done it a few times, too, but no mo. Something weird happens and your reserve opens, you're gonna get broken. So now if I'm taking the bike to the DZ I stick it in the T-Bag and strap it to the sissybar. Easy Does It
  6. It's offcial now, man! I take delivery Monday. I'll post pics as soon as possible! Congrats on your order from the town to clean up the yard! You gonna frame the letter and hang it on the wall like I did? Easy Does It
  7. The Pre Runner doesn't come in 4WD, otherwise I'd be considering that, too. My off-road excursions are minimal, though. I like the locking differential the truck comes with, just enough to get you out of a small mudhole or snow bank, which is about all I use 4 wheel for now, anyways. (I'm currently driving a 4WD Ranger) I drove a couple trucks with 4 cylinders engines and they just don't have the power. Fours are OK for smal cars, but that's it. Six is a minumum for me. I don't much heavy hauling, if any, so there's no need for me to get a big V-8. Extended cab is a must-have, too. If we can score the truck I'll defintiely post pics - Right now we're figuring out how to get it into the budget. (The little lady just got a new RAV-4 in February.) Easy Does It
  8. I used mine to take a trip with my daughter and friends to Orlando, buy some tunnel time, make some jumps at DeLand, eat dinner at Emerils' and get my ear and Sarah's navel pierced at Daytona. I had 60 bucks left out of about $1200.00, which I then used to buy alot of beer at the bowling alley the night we got back. I think I put it to damn good use if you ask me!! Easy Does It
  9. I just might purchase a new truck - What I am thinking of is the Toyota Tacoma, 2WD, extended cab (room for gear bag) Pre Runner - With the Off-Road package (locking rear differential, etc.) This would include the V-6 engine, too. Motor Trend gives it pretty high marks - Any input is greatly appreciated! Easy Does It
  10. Sweet axe. my friend! Back in the day, I played Bass - Had an Epiphone and a Hofner hollowbody (Like Paul McCartney played in the early days with the Beatles) Haven't touched a guitar in 20 years now. Easy Does It
  11. I must agree too - BAD taste - My sympathies to Al, family fans and friends. Weird Al ROCKS!!!! Easy Does It
  12. "Biff"could be used alot of ways - My interpretation is a botched landing complete with a spectacular tumble, but the person gets up and is OK. Maybe a minor bruise or scratch but otherwise none the worse. Easy Does It
  13. Straight - Married - 0 (The honeymoon is over - ) Easy Does It
  14. Awesome stuff - Does he do any tattoo flash?
  15. Word - And word again - Thanks to all who make this place happen! Show some respect, and be cool. I tip my whiskey glass to you!
  16. Absolutely - The wife and I have had our challenges regarding this sport, but she never has and (hopefully) never will give me that ultimatum. If she ever does, I would quit the relationship. (And she knows that-) Not for love of the sport, but for the principal of it all. If they love you, they won't ask you to quit something you love. What we did was work out a happy medium. So I don't jump as much as I'd like to, but I still get to jump one or two days a week. And I do get to spend more money on my motorcycle. And riding is something we both enjoy very much. Now if I can talk her into letting me buy that new rig!!!! Easy Does It
  17. Let's see - Just a few - Canada, including Labrador. (Goose Bay. What a rockin' town!) Germany (before the wall came down) Iceland (A woman behind every tree-) France England Saudi Arabia (Desert Storm) Bahrain Bahamas (Nassau) Don't want to go back to Saudi. Bahrain maybe, for a brief visit, but not Saudi. Didn't have a really good time there. Easy Does It
  18. I beleive there are AMP 40-50's on my Racer, too - I beleive I'll be going with the Icon and Pilot, now all I have to do is find out what dealer has the sweetest deal! And pick colors for the rig. Then wait hopefully not too long - Easy Does It
  19. Not from the Milwaukee area myself but most of the folks I jump with are - Check out Sky Knights in East Troy. We jump all year. Matter of fact, we haven't had a jumpless weekend since November and even that was a fluke. Very cool club DZ with good stuff going on all year. We have a turbocharged (280 hp) C-182 that climbs like a scared ape and will have a Caravan here in April August will bring a Casa for our annual Heartland Boogie. Indoor packing, a cool clubhouse, covered creeping area, friendly locals - Ya can't go wrong. Easy Does It
  20. Did a search - Most of the feedback on these containers has been very positive. I'm wondering what the more recent opinions on the Icon has been. Any cutaways? Reserve deployment issues? Comfort? Fit? How does your rigger like repacking it? How has Aerodyne done on delevery times? There are no Icons at our DZ (yet). Everyone here is Javelin, Vector, Wings, etc. So I'd be the first kid on the block with an Icon. Canopies - Pilot or Sabre2? Thanks in advance to all! Looking forward! -Lenny Easy Does It
  21. And I guess we'll be right next to Hedonism - I'm told we can expect to meet some very interesting people- - Easy Does It
  22. Oh Yeah - We'll be at Sandals Negril, right on the seven-mile beach. You'll find me lying in the sun, drinking rum and quite possible burning a fat one!! WooHoo!!!! Easy Does It
  23. Yep - This will be with the wife! I'm hoping she will let me get a new rig now since I'm taking her to Jamaica - Think it'll work? Dunns is on our list of things to do - We have some friends who have been and have LOTS of stories! Easy Does It
  24. Five days - four nights - Jamaica - (Sandals Negril) - for myself and one lucky lady. Not until September, but it gives us something to look forward to all summer. Warm beaches and gallons of Appleton rum. I think I'll try the scuba diving, too. Easy Does It
  25. Yes I will be at our DZ. There will be a good number of folks there I haven't seen since the club Christmas party and before. Weather doesn't matter too much - as long as we have enough altitude to jump. Incidentally, we haven't had a jumpless weekend here (Wisconcsin, Sky Knights-) since November. And I haven't gone more that 30 days without a jump, either. Easy Does It
