  1. I love exiting from the 182 in a nice arch with my hands behind my back - I get a good long look at the plane before sliding on off the hill. Good time to geek the camera if some one is filming your exit. Tall fun! Easy Does It
  2. Yes folks, Sarah has seen me in all my post-DZ-party glory!! Easy Does It
  3. Sarah wasn't quite looking "below" her - She and Tom exited in quick succesion, quite hard to explain, but not as dangerous as Sarah makes it sound. Please don't flame the poor girl!
  4. We met TJ Landgren weekend before last, and he thinks the world of Sarah - He even flew video on her Level 6 jump (Now how cool is that!!!) He told me about the 2nd generation jump at Spaceland, and it's on our list of places to be next summer, so you'll see Sarah and I there! It looks like a great place to jump, and a great boogie. Easy Does It
  5. Congrats and welcome to the sport!! (((hugs!!)))) My daughter Sarah will complete AFF soon and has several hundred pack jobs under her belt, many of which I've jumped myself. (She hasn't jumped one of her own yet, though - ! ) You should be very proud of yourself! Easy Does It
  6. Who all out there have the pleasure of sharing skydiving with a parent or child? My daughter Sarah will finish AFF (like tommorrow-) and she and I will be jumping together. I promised her a day of hop-n-pops so her canopy skills can catch up with her freefall skills (She had an hour and a half in the Orlando tunnel before starting-Highly reccomended!!) Scott Miller should be up our way sometime this summer, too. Being able to share something as great as this is phenominal to say the very least. I could go on but I'd start getting all mushy and stuff-- This is the best sport in the entire world! Everything else just plain sucks!
  7. Aren't you glad I left?? Easy Does It
  8. 0:0:0 I actually didn't jump this weekend - Did yardwork all day Saturday, then took the bike out for a ride late Saturday afternoon. Went to the DZ Sunday only to be greeted by high winds. So I took one for the team. Called up a certain little lady and asked her if she wanted to go see a movie. As soon as I got home and got her on the bike, I get a call from the DZ thanking me for leaving 'cuz now they could jump. Your welcome!! I might show my face around Hinckley this coming weekend - Anybody wanna bellyfly with me?? Easy Does It
  9. My biggest fear is that some day I'll run into a lady midget will a dill pickle in her left ear and aluminum foil on her elbows and she'll start chasing me and trying to beat me with one of those really really long Twizzlers and I run as fast as I can but for some reason my feet just won't move - - - It was a dream I had once - Long story - Easy Does It
  10. Yes indeed - EVERYONE on four wheels has just become your enemy when you're on the bike. They are looking for the first opportunity to make a left turn in front of you, blow a redlight and t-bone your ass, tailgate you so close the can count the hairs on your neck, etc etc etc - And when these shithooks to take some biker out, they use the "I Didn't See Him" defense. Enjoy the hell out of the bike! You'll find it's the best mode of transportation to the DZ on a beautiful day. Chicks dig'em, too. Easy Does It
  11. Thanks so much everyone! Hopefully I'll get some oics soon and you can count them getting posted! Easy Does It
  12. I cheat all the time - The only way we can manage to launch a Phalanx without funneling it is cheating a grip with the point and OC - - Easy Does It
  13. It's offcial! My 1st two grandsons are here! They came into the world June 1st, at 6:00 and 6:41 AM Alaska time. Alaric was first, weighing 5 pounds 12 ounces and Gavin was second at five pounds six ounces. Both were about 18 inches long. Mother and boys are both doing very well!! - everything went off without any complications at all. I have grandchildren - Wow! Life is so wonderful and weird, isn't it? Easy Does It
  14. 0:3:0 We had a really nice weekend for a change up here at Sky Knights. Got to the DZ late Saturday afternoon, (My daughter Sarah and I both work Saturday mornings - ) did a couple 4-way dives, and Sarah made three jumps through AFF level 6. One more AFF jump then I can start taking her up on coach jumps. Met TJ Landgren and partied with him Saturday night. Very cool dude! We had such a blast!! He vidoed Sarah's Level 6 jump. She looks GREAT! Spending an hour and a half in the tunnel while beginning AFF make such a world of difference! She's catching on to canopy control very well - (Right now she using the clubs' Clipper main-) I beleive Scott Miller will be up at our club sometime this summer and I will be signing her and myself both up for his course. In the meantime I promised I'd spend a day with her doing Hop-n-pops out of the Cessna, so she can OD on canopy skills. It was a very good weekend! Easy Does It
  15. Not busy enough here at Sky Knights - Mother Nature has been a real pain in the ass so far this year. Easy Does It
  16. There's enough room in the ear pocket - Just hold it in place with a rubber band or something. Actually, I taped up the holes in my Pro-Tech and just stick my Pro-Dytter in there while donning the hemet. Have to be careful when you pull your helmet off that it doesn't come falling out. Easy Does It
  17. I knew there had to be a catch or we would have been doing it sooner. Never considered effciency. The sun is free, and the process is probably pretty slow, but I never considered what it might take to package the hydrogen, either liquifying or pressurizing it. Good point that the distribution network is pretty much already in place. Easy Does It
  18. Sorry if I misunderstood ya, my friend! Easy Does It
  19. Do you carry a hook knife? Yes, I do and, Why would I start cutting lines if I don't have to? Easy Does It
  20. Happened to me once last season - I couldn't seem to get my finger out at all and really needed to concentrate on getting to a landing area, so I took a wrap around the other brake line to even things out. Note: I always wear gloves, and the loss of circulation wasn't bad. Don't know if I'd do that bare-handed. Easy Does It
  21. Reserve - 160 or 170 Main 150 - 170 Currently I'm jumping a 150 Spectre and a PD160 reserve that I've ridden once about 200 jumps ago. (it flies and flares great, btw!) My exit weight - 205# Easy Does It
  22. I got it - We use solar cells to provide the power to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen, then use the hydrogen to provide our need for energy. There we go - Pretty much free fuel - Now we can't use hydrgen for everything, but by using it to power our biggest users (ground transportation and so forth) we free up enough of the remaining fossil stuff to use where technology and science hasn't discovered an alternative yet, which the most important is getting us to 14,000' as quickly as possible. Easy Does It
  23. I too got mine done long before I started jumping, but I was back up to speed in about 2 weeks, and cleared to start lifting again in about 4 weeks. ( I was in the Air Force at the time and had to get clearance from the flight surgeon.) That was about 12 years ago - No problems since. Easy Does It
  24. Jump number 60 - Had one line group wrapped around two others - My first thought was "how the hell did I pack this crap?" then I went into Plan B mode. - It was like I was watching some one else's hands going for the handles and pulling, it was so automatic for me. (TOUCH YOUR HANDLES OFTEN, KIDS!) Once my reserve was over my head, I checked to see where my freebag and main were coming down (Both on the DZ, close by the main landing area) and picked a spot to land - I was right over the main landing area so I did a couple practice flares and went for the peas, stood up the landing, and really liked the way my reserve handles! Thanks, PD! Sucky part was is was the first jump for me on a really nice Saturday, there were no rental rigs available and nothing I could bum off another jumper except for small ellipticals, which I'm not into. No riggers available at the time, either. DAMN! So that kinda screwed my weekend - Lesson learned - Don't pack with a good beer buzz going on a Friday night.
  25. Yep - Even though I met you just once, That's you! How's Grams and everyone doing nowadays, anyways?
