I also jump a Spectre- only about 20 so far on a 150- I had one opening that was kinda hard- but I blame that on body posistion - I pro-pack it, and dont do anything special to the tail or the nose for that matter- I sort of leave the nose open before wrapping the tail around - Just the way I was taught to pack it by the previous owner - no problems- My input for what it may be worth! Seek out your rigger and get his input!

Hey- What doesn't kill us makes us tougher- (that applies to all aspects of life, too-) We have a couple folks at our DZ who are laid up too- And we call them and tell them to come hang out even if they can't jump! You're still one of us!
-
Nice ink, bro! I'm still working on my next one- Seems like every time I save up a few bucks I do something like spend it on jumps!
-
My guess is it's to retract the PC (versus collapsing it- ) for CRW fun and games?
-
If you haven't thought of this already- don't hesitate to draw lots of pictures- it's easy to forget where wires go! (One of the many hats I wear is "electrician" - I don't hesitate to take notes when I'm in unfamiliar surroundings!) Just in case- It's good to do it yourself- More money for jumps!
-
One more quick note--- I LOVE MY WIFE WITH ALL MY HEART!!!!!!
-
I try very hard not to make her feel left out- and folks at the DZ help also- She is slowly making friends there- And we have our quality time together- We go out for dinner every Friday- (somethng we've always done ever since we started dating) and I rarely jump on Sunday- Only if there's something special going on- I really hope she tries a tandem- Maybe then she'll understand where were coming from- But I refuse to pressure her to do it! (Enough people at the DZ are doing that- in a good natured way of course!) I think it's GREAT she works at the DZ- But I do have a tendancy to ignore her a bit while we're there- Not intentionally, but a guy gets caught up in the action and all- This Saturday she is scheduled from 12- close, so I hope I/we can have some fun and make her feel welcome and part of the crowd! Anybody want to come up to East Troy? Thanks to all for the advice!!!!!

The wife is also working at the front desk a little- She is getting to know a few of the people there - She would feel left out and now I think she is slowly becoming part of the group- I'm a newbie myself and a chronic flailer, so I'm still finding a niche to fit into myself. I'm hoping by the end of summer I'll have to buy a shitload of beer for her first tandem jump!

Wondering how many have a non- jumping significant other and what you do to help maintian the relationship? My wonderful wife does not jump and has no intentions of ever doing so much as a single tandem- (Even though I have a standing offer at our DZ- The day she ever does jump I will buy beer until all have had thier fill! and then some! It will be one hell of a party!) But she does work once in a while at our DZ and loves the clothes- t-shirts and stuff- What do you DZ.folks think?

Not to secong guess anyone, but better to drain the tank- when undertaking repairs of this nature- Murphy will prevail- something will go wrong where 30 gallons of water will wind up on your floor- Cheap insurance to drain the tank before pulling the bad element- Other thatn that- it's pretty straightfoward for some one with basic mechanical aptitude-

Good advice that! Sakydiving dominates our lives alot- It does mine more than I thought it would when I started, so much that I have to be careful with the way I plan my weekends so I can preserve my marriage- Same applies to dating- He has to understand right from the start that jumping takes alot of your spare time-on weekends (if not all of it-) But go for it girl! Y'never know!! Skydiving and maintenance of relationships could a whole new thread-!!

1:1:0 I left work early Friday to get a jump in cuz' I knew Sat and Sunday were going to suck- Must have drank case of beer last nite- man--- Good band though-

I've been jumping all winter in SE Wisconsin - while it's been a mild winter, it still got well below 0F at 10,500 (-18 was the coldest I think we jumped at, according to the planes' thermometer-) I wear a pair of Nike receiver's gloves, the cold weather version with tackified palms. They're nice and sticky. I also pulled a pair of thin cotton liners on underneath. No problem finding handles- My hands were actually sweating under the gloves on a couple jumps. Some folks also used neoprene fishing gloves also - great results- VERY warm-
-
I jump a spectre 150 also and don't do anything special with the pack job at all- and have nothing but nice openings with it- (Unless I do something like deploying with a low shoulder or something-) I may try psychopacking it but only for ease of packing- (So I can get on the next load quicker-)

I've never demo'd a canopy (yet-) but it seems like common sense to open really high- and fly the hell out of it- But this guy you're talking about doesn't seem to have much of that- All we can hope is that he doesn't become a statistic?
-
It just goes to show you- Skydivers know how to LIVE!
-
OK- Now I'm even gettig sick---
-
Might take awhile- My artistic talent has atrophyed--
-
How does this sound- A Grateful Dead style skeleton flying under canopy- w/ sun and a couple clouds in the background?
-
Yes! Pics! I need inspiration! Thanks again in advance!!!! ---dumpster-

I jumped a few different rigs as a student- Wider pads suck on the ground but I just leave'em loose- and snug 'em up just before getting on the plane- Wider is better under canopy for sure- I jumped one rig- pulled nice and snug and still had some nice bruises - Partly from being narrow and part from being pretty bagged out as a student rig-
-
Does anyone have any really cool skydiving-related tattoos or flash? I'm contemplating my next ink job- and would like to see what's out there to get ideas for the artwork- Any/everything could be helpful! Thanks in advance!!! -- dumpster-

I've got a full set of tubestoes on my bag and have no problem- But the opinions at our DZ are just like here- from mild to wild- Most folks are using bands for any number of reasons - I like 'em cuz there easier to work with- My .02- Wanna buy a duck?
-
We're taught as students up here to go around the canopy on high wind days- and I got a good lesson on flying the canopy after touchdown also- (no injuries or anything just some good constructive advice from one of best canopy pilots here-) Yet I still see students trying to wrestle a canopy to the ground like a steer in a rodeo- Wanna buy a duck?
-
Oh No--!!! The "wanna buy a duck" quote is an old inside joke- Nothing directed at anyone here- My apologies! !!! Wanna buy a duck?
