Alti- I have an FT-50 - have had no problems with it- Main reason for my choice was the boldface numbers on the face- I also have a Z-1 for a skid lid, and have no issues with it other than fogging once in a while, but usually not until under canopy where I open it up anyways- My open face right now is a Pro-Tec, but next one will be a Hurricane- Check out www.zutesute.com for jumpsuits - Lots of us up here at East Troy have 'em and love'em. Small company- great quality! Wanna buy a duck? -
As of this moment my health insurance doesn't exclude skydiving or other (pardon the term) "extreme" activities- But I have a feeling they will - and since my employer is self insured, and I am the only jumper in the entire company, and I have pretty much been labled as some kind of deranged lunatic, (cool by me-) You can bet I will take action if and when it does happen- Wanna buy a duck?

MAn- I hope to go but don't know if my schedule will let me- I'll have well over 50 jumps and hopefully will top 100 by then- The major coolness for me will be that it's in Rantoul- and I was stationed there twice while I was in the Air Force- At it would be cool to maybe meet some of you folks I know (barely at best- ) by username- Wanna buy a duck?

Yeah- I'd love to read a news post that Bin Laden has been eliminated, even though Al Qeada will still go on without him. I have some reservations about the Iraq implication I read just recently that we have spent over 50 billion protecting oil interests in that neighborhood, and have actually imported about 19 billion in oil- That math seems a little upside down to me- Isreal and Palestine- For f*ck sake just let them nuke each other into oblivion and let God sort 'em out- I am really tired of that centuries old dispute- We live on whatever we want, fast food or healthly stuff and can fill our minds with anything we want, from college degrees to a bong and hours of the Flinstones- and can make money in a multitude af ways- and then spend it any way we want - on sneakers made by 12 years olds in some horrible sweat shop in some godforsaken country for instance- or incredibly large SUV's that will never be taken off the paved road - And in the meantime wreacking wonderful havoc in several countires in the name of protecting our freedom and "national interests" - and don't forget there are lots of other dirty little wars going on that we don't even know about! And beleive it or not, it's all for the Almighty Dollar, when it all boils down- And I for one, really really like dollars- Lots of them- to buy cool skydiving stuff, pay for nice meals, Harley-Davidsons and beer. Things that these poor people will never see or can even comprehend- But they all know what a US dollar looks like!!!!! It's great being an American! ( And I mean that- I am also a Gulf War veteran! - And a veteran of the Bosnia effort, also-) Let the flames begin!! Wanna buy a duck?

I love my Z-1, but it did feel a little snug first few times I jumped it. First thing I checked when I got it was field of view, and in my case it's great- except for looking down, (as in looking for cutaway and reserve handles-) I find I really need to shove my chin down a little further than normal- Fogging problems are cured by just popping it open once I'm under a good canopy- But the Havocs look reeally cool, and there will be new one at the DZ this wekend so maybe I'll get a chance to try it out- Life begins at 14,000' - Shut up and jump!

I'm recenly off student status myself, got my own gear, and am working on improving my RW skills- ( they really need work!) and working on my accuracy on landings for license progression- I'd like to try freeflying but need to have a few mods made to my rig to make it more FF friendly- I never turn down a chance to do a hop-n-pop, and always make it a point to have fun!! I bought mine right off student status - 1. Rental fees- Cheap here (20.00) and if you repack yourself it's 15.00- But add the price of the jump and a day at the DZ can cost a couple hundred if you jump more that once or twice- 2. I came across the right deal at the right time- A guy I jumped with was selling his rig to help pay for his new rig, and he happened to be exactly the same weight and build as I - (Actually I'm a bit lighter now- by about 10# - Those trips to the gym are paying off!) 3. I was able to jump the rig several times, and while I realize this isn't the case for everyone, if you can jump it before you buy it, do so!! 4. The colors are cool enough for me! (All black container- Plain and simple!) I'll wait another year or two before buying a new container, but I will probably play with a few different canopies- Just my .02 to overload you on information! Helmets: Black- but my Z-1 will be getting a custom paint job next winter- (Unless I break down and buy a new Havoc) Life begins at 14,000' - Shut up and jump!

Congrats, Man! I have three- Liz at 17 and getting reaaady to graduate, Sarah at 14 and can't wait for her first jump, and Esau ( like in all the Grateful Dead tunes-) at 10- Unfortunatly all live in NY with Mom- (I live in IL-) But we all see each other all the time and they get a call from me EVERY sunday- for the past six years- Haven't missed one! But this about you- PARENTHOOD IS THE BEST!!!! You will soon have the most wonderful child in the world, bar none!!! (except for mine-) And a woman is never more beautiful than when she is with child-- (My dad told me that- And it soooooo true! All my best to Mom and Dad both!! My progression was a little agressive- (36 jumps to date) currently 200# out the door- 20 0r so- Manta 288 1-- Spectre 150 2- Sabre 170 1 - PD 190 1- PD 230 Current- Spectre 150 I got flamed major when I made this plublic a couple months ago here- Loaded at about 1.3 - I don't reccomend it to anyone - Life begins at 14,000' - Shut up and jump!

Many possibilities as to why it may have twisted! It was the first time I had psychoed it and figured it was somthing I had done wrong- I probably try it once or twice more to see if i really can do it without problems- but man is it easy and fast! I'd love to be able to speedpack, do a good job and hop right on another load without missing a beat! ( or worrying about a bunch of unflyable crap over my head--) Any pointers would be greatly appreciated! Life begins at 14,000' - Shut up and jump!
-
Does your girls Spectre have the extension at the top of the canopy where it attaches to the d-bag? I am wondering if the lack of one on mine my have helped cause the line twist- Life begins at 14,000' - Shut up and jump!
-
I psychoed mine here a couple weeks ago- Opening was fine, it was REALLY easy to shove in the bag, but I had a nice little line twist- Nothing major, it came right out. Don't know if it was my pack job or the technique itself- I may try it again just to see- I was told that psychopacking my accelerate wear on a canopy, but that was one opinion- Maybe some other input out there? 1:1:0 - could have been higher - Hopefully next week end wx won't suck- Hey Alex- Billy and Dan are trying to get "no-pull" to stick-- Life begins at 14,000' - Shut up and jump!

I also jump with contacts- Like was mentioned before, keep a bottle of drops in you bag, I put some in before I jump and have no problems- Good snug goggles are a big plus. I open my visor on my Z-1 under canopy and have no problem either, but I understand some folks do- I wear soft lenses BTW- Life begins at 14,000' - Shut up and jump!

Thanks for the info on anti-fog, guys! I jump a Z-1 also, and it's no problem to crack it to keep it from fogging under canopy- It's become part of post open routine, right after checking traffic and collapsing the slider----I notice keeping it off mt head as long as possible helps too. What do you use and where do you get it? I haven't been able to find anything that works -- Thanks in advance! Life begins at 14,000' - Shut up and jump!
