  1. Except for that pesky first amendment, you're right. But, the fact of the matter is, our FF were not universally Christian, and recognized the fact that a just government should not promote Christianity or Islam, or Judaism, or Hindhuism, etc. Why do so many people feel that Christianity is the only "true" religion? 2. If you have a fear of, or contempt for homosexuality, you are a homophobe, by definition. The Bible tells us it is wrong to eat shellfish, but I don't see Shrub or the Christian Right pushing for a seafood amendment to the Constitution. If you do not believe that women have a choice what they do to their bodies, you are, by definition, anti-choice. Jesus did not promote bigotry, why do fundementalists? Math tutoring available. 3. Follow it back a little further, and you will find the first hateful comment came from Road Rash. She then deleted her last hateful comment. Thanks for trying to be my conscience, though. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  4. I reread, and still have no idea what it is you're talking about now. Sorry my posts don't contain enough pictures for you. I'll try to remedy that.

  6. From a strictly academic standpoint, the Nag Hammadi texts give us the most accurate view of Jesus's life and teachings ever available, at least since the death of Jesus. It is very difficult to dismiss the difference between these texts and the KJV Bible as innacuracies of the Nag Hammadi texts. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  7. The same argument could be made for the Latter Day Saints. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  8. Credible theological historians suggest just that. What happened to the reincarnation belief held by early Christians? Also, why is Mary Magdeline held in such low regard by the church, since the word used for prostitute, in the time of Christ, also translated roughlt to high priestess, which is wholly consistent with early Christianity's male/female duality. 9. I'm having trouble understanding how Mormons are less Christian because the utilize a third book in conjunction with the KJV Bible. Rastatfari utilize the Bible as well, but I do not believe they worship Christ as a deity. I understand the trinity. The triad is near universal in religions, along with the duality. I don't understand the importance of the deity. Christianity as a religion didn't worship Christ as a deity until eary in the fourth century current era. I understand the significance, I just don't see why it is more important than the actual message of Christ. Unless I am miss understanding what you are trying to say. Math tutoring available. 10. I actually did not mention any cults, except generically. Even the Church of Latter Day Saints is considered a sect, if no a denomination. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  11. Even without proof, I think it is hard to discount metaphoric value of Christ and his teachings. The Bible has helped a great many people deal with life for many years. Not all of those people ar fundementalists that quote a few passages out of context to give you a distorted view of why your life is wrong. The vast majority are good, well meaning people. The Bible has done a lot of good for them, and I'm not about to discount the value of Christianity (the religion, not the church) due to lack of proof. Its done just fine this long without proof. Where's the proof of Shiva, or Yaveh or Buddha or Lao Tse, or Mohommed or, well, you get the idea. I don't believe any man really has a choice in the manner in which they find a higher power. We all find that in our own way. Different religions are like multiple paths up the same mountain. If you keep woorying about which path others take, you never get started up the mountain yourself. 12. First, I think it is commendable that you've been this open about such a personal subject. This does bring to mind a question. How would you feel if your son accepted Christ as his Savior, but on significantly different terms than you have, for example, Eastern Orthodoxy, or Jehovahs Witness, or Church of Latter Day Saints, or Rastafari or [insert any other denomination/sect/cult] of Christianity? Jesus says: "I am the light which is on them all. I am the All, and the All has gone out from me and the All has come back to me. Cleave the wood: I am there; lift the stone and thou shalt find me there!" --Gospel of Saint Thomas Saying 77 Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  14. Taoism is considered one of the three major chinese religions, along with Buddhism and Confucionism.Look at the Vinegar Tasters and you will see all three represented. The three are not exclusive to one another, and do not use idols as a subject of Worship, as Western religions do, but they are nonetheless religions. There is very little difference between the message of Christ and LaoTse. To consider one a religion but not the other is, well, let's say just it's less than tolerant. Math tutoring available. 15. Say whatever you want, no one is trying to stop you. But, if you imply that dissenters are somehow second rates citizens who don't take pride in there country, that is a grossly misguided, hateful statement. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  16. I don't remember Taoism making a good/evil distinction. The distinction used to be masculine/ feminine, even in early Christianity. This survives today in the Masons logo, as well as the star of David, from Judaism. The good and evil thing isn't universal. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  18. I just recently heard on NPR an old statement from Rumsfeld estimating less than $100B at the high side, and months, certainly "not years" just in the past couple weeks. The administration had been advised that it would take many more troops in order to be successful, and maintain security of the region. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 20. All I know is that when I went through basic training (OSUT FT. Sill) they made it abundantly clear that it didn't matter who gave the order, Sergeant or CIC, if it violated G.C. I was responsible. We signed the treaty; we gotta follow the rules we agreed to play by. They are there for the benefit of the pawns. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 21. While I admit, rereading the post from that perspesctive, it does moke sense, but it could also be read as accusing those of us who are not blind with patriotism of not having any pride in our country, and it is from that perspective that I made my response. As for looking for an argument? Give me a break. Why are we here in Speakers Corner? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
