Personally, if you're going to "pole dance" a tandem. I'd think you'd do it sans jumpsuit? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

We have a local DZ that's been offering Groupons... In talking with some woofos/future skydivers, when asked why they are waiting to come out and jump, the response I've heard on several occasions was "I'm just waiting for them to offer a Groupon". I guess it's a supply and demand economy? But, I'm not a fan of the Groupon. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Tow things in this jumpers favor... 1. Camera flyer dumpen out on breakoff gives him some altitude to play with. 2. Line twists are one of those mals that people tend to stay with too long. But I'm with Twardo on this one. Riding a mal is hard on the gear (not to mention... hard on us old farts), Ya gotta trust the researve. That's what it's there for.

One technique I teach... Just before you get ready to exit, take a DEEP breath and let it out slowly. It tends to relax people. Try it and see how it works. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Parachutist lands on pitch during game
skyjumpenfool replied to AviationTD's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Still, reggardless of where it took place, it did not look planned? I'm hoping it was a "last option" out for an off landing and not a demo gone bad/late? -
FILM a video of youself SKYDIVING for MOVIE
skyjumpenfool replied to creativefest's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My Helmet/cam setup cost about $2,500. It cost me about $400 to keep all my reserves packed and in date. A plane ride to altitude is about $25. If I have a cutaway and loose my main..... there goes about $2,000.00. Gas to and from the DZ, USPA membership, insurance, etc..... You can understand, then, why your offer of $15 is almost laughable? That aside, I'll try to send you something if you contact me. Rental Gear - I guess I'm just venting.

This exactly! I've been teaching that for years. It's how we used to put ROUND parachutes into bags, once S-fold at a time. -
20 Seconds of Joy Documentary

Extreme athletes? They are what they are. If we have to "water it down" for the woofos, that would be a travesty. If thwy can't understand.... well, so be it. I think for anyone who's ever done anything like this, this video will hit home. Just my 2.5 cents... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
Where do you jump? There are leagues out there (NSL) that bring in coaches, judges, camera flyers, etc. Go to the NSL (National Skydiving League) website. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Is it painful to impact?
skyjumpenfool replied to freeflyfree's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Back in the 70's, early 80's, I rode a streamer in (CRW gone bad) and lived to talk about it. The only part that was painful was the doctor bills. Seriously, I would not describe it as painful. more like... unpleasant? I felt (and heard) the bones break and knew I was hurt bad. But, I was able to stay consious and I was the one keeping people at the scene calm. Some people do not react well to broken bodies? The Death of a Boogie
skyjumpenfool replied to skydived19006's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
That was me... but, I was speaking about the opportunities to go to smaller, less expensive venues that are much closer to home where you can make great skydives out of turbines. I'm hoping Couch doesn't go the way of FB, WFC, Albert Lee, ect. I always had a great time and would like to go there again. -
I like the technique for landing in the water... Pull both right risers and the left toggle.... see attached. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

The Death of a Boogie
skyjumpenfool replied to skydived19006's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The NPSL drew jumpers from Minnesota (Twin Cities area) and Wisconsin. When these jumpers traveled to Couch, so did the camera flyers, friends, girlfriends and the rest of the folks who did not want to be left behind. When they were done with the NPSL meet, they stayed to party and jump their buns off. We are, also, seeing declining #'s participating in the NPSL. But, my gut feeling is that the cost is a big issue. I'd love to drive 7 hours to pay a "Boogie fee" and more expensive jump tickets to do what I can already do at Skydive Twin Cities, Westside, Wissota, Superior, Milaca, MN Skydivers, etc. Also, I think Chicogo area DZ's and the Cheese Boogie are your new competition.
