  1. not sure if this is much help to you or not but.... with the Freefly PUD option from Sunrise there used to be the possibility of it being a little loose if the canopy wa smaller than originally intended for the container. This has been solved by a special pocket for the pud in the Cordura BOC (not sure if they do this on the spandex as everyone i sell to gets the Cordura) that eliminates this problem. Even with a pud being knocked out by one means or another there would be very little chance of the PC being extracted by wind forces on the pud. I have nearly 2000 jumps on Wings containers and was so impressed by them I became a dealer. I have never seen that kind of problem from the Cordura BOC. Packing the PC can be a contributing factor I imagine however. hope you solve the reason and please let us all know when it is found. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  2. yeah, contact Jeremy on info (AT) cookiecomposites.com and ask him he will give you all the help you need and make sure you get the right one. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  3. ask me, ask me..... I have been using on e for a number of months now and they ROCK. I have never seen a lens give such quality and width as this. I run it with a PC350 which is not the widest of cameras and get great results. Money well spent I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  4. unless you use the British system of sealing rigs which puts no extra force on the handle at all
  5. or pro pack (on the nose) on the floor! I pack my tandem and my x-brace this way regularly. Way less tiring that doing it over the shoulder I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  6. I know of a jump that was made just like that for some tv thingy (I fella in question was wearing a yellow dress as well). Anyhow I believe a tandem harness was used underneath the normal rig and attachent points were added to the board. Usual checks to see if handles etc were easily accesible and away they went. Worked rather well I believe I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  7. Peace I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  8. Rubbish. I use an Argus and would not use anything else now. Others use a Vigil and would not use anything else. I know people that swear by an Astra (OK these people are really weird!!) So do your research and choose the one that you can justify to yourself. Everyone has different thoughts but the fact is that ALL of them can fail to function as the manual states they will. I work in a loft where the head Honcho is a Vigil dealer but also has a Cypres Dealership and I am an Argus dealer. We see them all fail at times. At the end of the day they are just a piece of electronica and they are built and they can fail. research is your friend and dont purchase anything that you cannot accept may fail. 9. this can be true but also the reverse can be true. I am a Wings dealer and I often have rigs arrive early from them for my customers. I guess it is just one of those things. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  10. He has never complained about the weight of the camera that he is using. I saw how much effort he put into designing the new glove due to the length of it and the result is great. He has a glove for a CX as well which is very nice too. I have a 330 that I use for outside cam that I have been using for the last 3 years. Man I take my hat off to you and your mighty muscles for using that one for handcam. I like my 350 which is waaaaay lighter I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  11. I believe Brett Newman uses a HC5 and makes a very nice glove for it. He uses the Liquid 2 lens and gets really nice footage without any problems. Send him an email if you have any other questions downwardtrend AT optusnet.com.au I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  12. yeah, try a Downward Trend glove by BRETT NEWMAN. Now there is a glove that really rocks. info@downwardtrend.com I have had used his gloves for nearly a thousand jumps now and find them extremely comfortable and secure as well as excellently made. You will not be disappointed I think I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  13. plenty of movies there. No details on author though that i could see. Other than posting a request that might not be seen in time. Thank you for your thoughts and if you know of a way to get hold of these people that would be great.
  14. Hi guys I am putting the finishing touches to a seminar for the general public here in Brisbane Australia next week. I could really use some high quality (not compressed) video footage of cool jumps. RW / FF / VRW / CReW / CP ..... anything that you may like to donate for this project. If you have anything that you are happy for us to use then please email to skydivinginfo@optusnet.com.au please keep files short and under 10 mb Pando is useful if you have larger files ( www.pando.com ) If you have any photo's as well then they could help as well. This is a non profit seminar aimed at educating the general public about our sport and busting the myths about our sport. all help gratefully received. thanks in advance I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  15. I have recently started jumping my Xaos 98 / 21 with the brakes unstowed. Did a sub-terminal first and the opening was SWEET! took it terminal and the opening was SWEET! this is not suitable for every style of canopy but I lover the openings on this canopy. On heading and beautiful. A little odd that due to the drive it appears to open a little forward of me and there is less time for house keeping such as slider/chest strap et al. These jumps were Solo's mind you. Not planning on doing this on RW at point in time. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  16. personally an Argus However they all do the job and can all fail. They are nothing more than a back up. blue skies I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  17. I always liked that about the Vision. Soft openings for camera but also reliable and on heading (except when it needs a new line set *ahem* ) Though having had three of them (one early 2004, the other two matched mid 2005) I noticed some difference in the models. I felt like the early model was more aggressive and dived for longer. Highly recommend the Vision for anyone who wants a bit more out of their canopy if they are on the Pilot/Safire/Sabre range without the hassles of the Katana/mamba/Xfire style I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  18. Actually its time to speak to Scarlett as she is taking over from Ankie. Either way you can expect the same great service as always from Wings I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  19. I recently had a ride on a Precision TR375 after a Skyhook deployment (thanks for the T-shirt UPT) with a fella on the front that was in the 110-115KG range (240-250 lbs ) and Im about 90 Kgs (200 lbs) plus gear / clothes etc is getting close to the 500 mark give or take a breakfast and dinner. The landing was firm onto sand and I got him to help me flare as the flare was very heavy. Other than being a slow bus however it landed reasonably well I thought. 20. Fair and suitable comment. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  21. Simple. Get both and make up your own mind which you think is the better. Like any modern gear they all perform a basic function to an acceptable minimum. Some gear however performs waaaaaaay above the minimum requirements. My personal opinion is that I am reluctant to jump Strong if I have the option of either. That said my first rating was on Strong and if you know nothing else then there is nothing but hot air from others to base your opinion on. Good Luck and I hope they give you hell on your course I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  22. I can tell you now that you will love it. I have both a Mxv and a Rok. They ROK! I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  23. Soft Links Personally. And the slider on the Jyro 300 I jump have #8 grommets and I set the slider behind my head so no issue with getting stuck on the toggles. We jump onto the beach and keep a close eye on the gear. Go with what you are comfortable with and maintain it well and it will not matter which you choose.
  24. Shhhhhh. Don't give away the dark secrets I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  25. any reason why you wouldnt just go with the Cookie helmet? Great fit , great comfort, and great service I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
