  1. nope. The glove I use is from Brett Newman of DOWNWARD TREND in Australia. I got it through COOKIE COMPOSITES and it is the absolute bomb. Solid, no movement and really easy to use. I have seen and tried a number of different gloves but this one is a must. I run the Cookie .2 now instead of the .3 in that movie. I get amazing shots. You can see my alti on my wrist behind the glove just in the edge of view, shame you cant read it though, that would be great. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  2. you missed "Operator" The person who tries to stretch the rules and push people to do things for a monetary gain I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  3. I notice that you include a main repack with yours for free. I refuse to pack mains after a reserve repack. I hook the main on and do a continuity check and thats it. After that it is their own responsibility. I have had a couple of times where someone has chopped on the first jump after a repack. I can stand back and not get involved. If I had packed the main (hopefully they wouldnt have had the chop) then it gets tricky I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  4. I saw their bus at SkySisters2 Boogie in Australia this week. Could be they were out of the office? I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  5. I saw a unit that was in a Tandem rig where the screen would go out and come back on with the numbers changed due to a loose connection where the cable went into the disply unit. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  6. my dear friend ---- I think you will find this is just more politics and not a factual occurance. However if it is a factual thing that is being reported I am sure that it will get a comment from someone who has registered longer and filled out the information on their profile. I have brought it to the attention of Aviacom so if their is any truth in this claim I am sure that we will see information from them here otherwise it would apear to be just more BS I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  7. I ahve only about 550 H/C jumps and never an issue. As someone earlier said the FIRST and MOST important thing is to fly the tandem as you would without it. ie do your JOB first and Film only & ONLY IF everything is going to plan. Otherwise you can ignore it and it does nothing to hinder you... I run a 0.2 Cookie Composites lens which allows me to almost completely ignore the camera and fly normally without having to reach to get good shots (except for the very cool extreme close up on their faces ) I suggest that if people are truely interested to hear from TM's that use it a lot and have way more experience than me you place a post here as you will find many that have over a few thousand jumps with H/C I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  8. I brought your post to the attention of William at Argus and he is following it up. When I hear more I shall post I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  9. the NewsSheet is for APF members who hold ratings (Instructors / Packers / Pilots etc) while we have the Australian Skydivers Magazine that is sent out 5 times a year to our members (lots of cool photos) to keep them up to date of what is happening in the sport there is a website that is currently under construction here I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  10. That "Russian Guy" is called Vasili. He was working in Australia for the last 6 months with us in Queensland. He did his 21,000th jump on the same day I did my 2100th He had been jumping for 36 years. I had been jumping for 3 years 6 months (and am 36 years old ) He had some really great things to teach / share about jumping/packing and other subjects. Really nice guy. If you ever get the chance to meet him, buy him a Bourbon and have a chat, you'll get a lot out of it I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  11. I had mupltiple replies from Wiliam yesterday during a discussion with him. Though at times they can be a little slow to answer emails I am sure they will be in touch. regards I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  12. I understand both issues and their origin. I was asking where he felt these issues overlapped. thanks for your reply however. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  13. I facilitated communication between one of my clients and Jump Shack when the new rig he bought was being pushed to its limits by the canopy it had in it. He was given poor information from the dealer that sold him the rig telling him that although it was sized for a Sabre2 150 he could get the same model 170 in there until he was ready for the 150. It was a VERY tight squeeze and this led to the C.I lettin him downsize early to the 150 before he was ready (Dumb but true). Thankfully before he got hurt he realised he was not ready for this and was thinking he would have to sell his container and get a new one, losing a lot of money in the process. I spoke to Jump Shack on his behalf and they were happy to resize the Main Tray for him. Not only did they do a great job but they did it at about 25% less than they quoted. Not because the job was easier than they thought, it was a fair sized piece of work. They did it as Customer Service. So if you want to see about resizing the container speak to the manufacturer and weigh the cost versus the cost of buying a new container (new or second hand) remembering that in just about all cases it is better to get the right tool for the job and will work out cheaper to get a new container. hope this helps I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  14. I am sorry but I do not understand this statement. The relocation of the cutter to above the PC is to help reduce the problems of poor rigging in the field. The bulletin on Vigil cutters is also possibly about poor rigging (excessive use of PLD) but could also simply be a design flaw. I do not see where these two subjects overlap. If you could please explain I would appreciate your time and effort. thanks I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  15. In Austalia now it is possible to get a Cloud Manual from Civil Aviation Safety Authority that allows you to punch cloud. There are certain requirements for it that can be found here I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  16. one way to find out.......HOWEVER are you really the person to be a test jumper? Not suggesting you should or shouldnt do it. I would suggest that you take it out and show someone (Instructor/rigger etc) what you have done and get their opinion. If they think its ok to jump then go do it and enjoy the butterflies you will probably have when you throw your PC I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  17. I recently found that i had aquired over the last couple of years about half a dozen manuals or so. So now when I hear a discussion going on about an AAD instead of getting involved I politely hand them over a manual and suggest they look it up. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  18. I pack my main (Xaos -21) and my tandem the same way. similar to a reserve pack. Its basically a pro-pack that is done on the floor from the start. Gather centre cell together and then flake nose, clear stabilisers and place brake-lines inside. repeat for other side. quarter slider and wrap. I am finding that this is the quickest way to pack I have ever found. Thanks Vasili for teaching me. Great openings consistantly on heading and smooth. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  19. I was taught on my FJC to pull the risers apart whilst kicking to get out of line twists. Recently I have had the pleasure of working with a highly experienced jumper (21,000+ jumps) who taught me to push the risers together so the twist come down the lines and then twist the risers to release the twists (though I have found they come out all by themselves mostly when you push the risers together). If the twists are by the risers this allows the canopy to open further than if they are half way up the lines. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  20. thank you for that clarification. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
  21. so rather than fix poor rigging we change designs. In Bill's words ".the world will build a better IDIOT..." I wonder what people will manage to do poorly that will counter this relocation of cutter placement I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
