I have both a Seimax .42 and a liquid .3 and I find there is practically no difference between them. It comes down to putting trying the lens you like and seeing how good it is. There are many cost effective options that are just as good. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.

Cool fun aren't they I only have about 20 or so out of a chopper but I have found that putting my toes on the runner and hanging their legs over works well. As I lean forward and I start to feel myself go I push a little with my toes and a lot with my chest. Very stable flat exit. I think it gets a little head down just before the drouge throw. As for getting the exit on cam, worry about that when you have your exits nailed. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.

Nice one Fergie Actually about two months ago at Willowbank I was tracking away after an AFF and as I flared out of the track I looked down at the spot and saw an eagle some few hundred feet below me. Quick pitch, check canopy and look around...there it was just ahead of me. Great visuals as I drifted below and to one side of him. Wishing I had my camera on that jump I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.

The Australian Parachute Federation offer specific Insurance for your gear when ever it is not in use. I believe that your main is even cover in the event that you cut-away as it is deemed to be no longer in use (check that one for sure bob.dino??) I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.

Wing Loadings - who is over?
koppel replied to jumpingjimmy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Going to vist a friend this morning who broke his femur on the weekend. Now he has a pin in his leg = out of jumping for 6 months. Wing Loading? 1.17 Wing Loading is Important! It is not the only importance. Attitude and Respect are just as important. He did not Respect his Experience (~140 jumps) which is a bad Attitude. To all my unknown friends out there 'Crawl, Walk, Run & FLY!' I like my canopy... ...it lets me down. -
If you were buying an AAD today, what would you buy?
koppel replied to docjohn's topic in Gear and Rigging
I think that many people on this thread are forgetting something very important (especially my friendly US of A'ers ) and that is this sport was built on pioneering. Someone has to be the first. I for one have ordered two Argus units for my rigs (one of which has a cypres1 (to be sold shortly) and the other nothing) for a number of reasons. It is your perogative to sit back and wait to see if someone dies from a new idea/attempt/equipment etc. I will not berate you for it in the least. BUT remember that it is those that are willing to have a new idea/attempt/equipment that are progressing the sport. Without support from our sports followers (that is you and I my friends) then in this current financial world we live in they may not get their wonderful new idea/attempt/equipment out there for everybody to use. I do not have the mind of some of the great people in our sport with which to progress the sport (the likes of BB etc) but I can give a commitment to our sport to help support them. Remember all those friends and family of yours who state how 'dangerous' skydiving is while you listen politely and remind you that driving your car is more likely to get you killed. Consider in real terms the danger of supporting a new idea/attempt/equipment. What are the real dangers and how much of this is just fear of trying something new. That is not to say that all new ideas are a good idea and you must make up your mind for yourself as to what you are prepared to risk and that which you are not. I for one feel that the perceived risk of a new AAD is higher by far than the real risk. Rant over. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down. -

As a Rigger during a reserve repack do you re-pack the main?
koppel replied to fugozzie's topic in Gear and Rigging
As a rule i use the opportunity to make them go through their EP's. When they come to collect their rig I go through monthly maintenance with them. This way I know that at least once every six months the risers are gettng flexed etc I find that it's a great learning curve for my clients edit:grammer I like my canopy... ...it lets me down. -

I have been looking for one for ages to buy. Care to sell or know any one that would like to. as for reserve rides 1 for 1600, knew that the lines were getting badly out of trim. Had the spare line set in the cupboard at home and was 'getting around to it' to put them on. Major line twists on opening followed by a wild ride around the sky for a few seconds before becoming my second save. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.

ear Plugs have always been an absolute No-No where I jump, though I use them on the ride to height all the time. I believe that the reason for not using them in free-fall is to do with pressure changes and the possibility (?) of them moving too far down the ear canal. Not sure of the likelyhood of this and I have certainly gotten out a couple of times without taking them out. Landing with either both or only one. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.

IIRC it was to do with seals and hardhousings indeed. They may have a computer with many fonts however, if they can forge my illegible handwriting and signature then they are doing very well indeed. I like my canopy... ...it lets me down.
