  1. The correct question is: How much is a democrat allowed to earn? How much is a republican allowed to earn? Since most democrats are lawyers and most republicans are business men, democrats earn there money thru legislating it out of republicans. You are allowed to earn as much money as you want that way. 2. By my 50+ years' life experience, I find that 8 out of 10 people who say that in this context really mean, "Disrespect is a 2-way street." Tit for tat is a childish game to play. A person can lead, follow, or get out of the way. I prefer to lead. You do what you want. Let me break it down to you the same way I break it down to my kids. 1. Always give someone the benefit of the doubt. Give a helping hand when ever you can. 2. If some one just doesn't like you, leave him be. No need to go looking for trouble. 3. If someone is trying to bully you, you have to stand up to him. You can't go through life being afraid. It's not living. terrorists are bullies. 3. Great. So if you offend someone and they put out a hit on you, look for sympathy between shit and syphilis in the dictionary. Sounds fair. If you need to twist someone's words in order to rebut them, you've already lost. I'm left with the feeling that if a Muslim was burning a bible, he would defend the Muslim's right to free speech. And obviously if we make fun of Muhammad, it's our fault if something happens. I'm here to say, that the Muslim extremist is wrong. Respect is a 2 way street. 4. UH I asked you how many slaves you wanted.. because YOU were trotting out the sanctity of the Constitution as written. I know its difficult for you to see WHY I might have asked that... but I was trying to point out.. that as written it had a few SERIOUS flaws... and that at the time the BOLDED line CERTAINLY only meant free white men... just sayin And now we have evolved enough to understand that black men are men too. The idea has evolved not gone away. When I talk about the sanctity of the constitution I am talking about the idea. Refer to the founding fathers ideas before making changes. Yes somethings need changing, but lets not completely throw out the ideas. Some of these ideas have made America what it is. The idea is a government elected by the people. Because we now have a means to quickly tally the votes, do we really need an electoral college? Stuff like that. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 5. And I will borrow a quote from Samuel Adams: "How strangely will the Tools of a Tyrant pervert the plain Meaning of Words!" Oops, I quoted a founding father again, I must want to own slaves! Yes, some things in the constitution are evolving, like understanding that all men have unalienable rights, and by all men that means all men regardless of color. Just because there was slavery 200 years ago doesn't mean that we should throw out the line "all men are created equal, and are endowed by our creator certain unalienable rights." These are the ideas we should be defending. And shame on you for suggesting I want to own slaves. What pisses me off is when you can find quotes from half of our founding fathers like this one.... "The Constitution shall never be construed... to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms." Samuel Adams .... and politicians want to ban guns. I know exactly what the constitution says and I know exactly what the founding fathers meant. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 6. Well you wouldn't know it. While you are pissing on the constitution why don't you piss on the 13, 15, and 19th amendment. I kind of like them, but if you say it needs change...... Me personally, I think this country is great. I believe our constitution and the freedoms it has guaranteed us is the cause of our greatness. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 7. I'm just trying to defend the constitution and you are accusing me of trying to bring back slavery and turn the country into a caliphate. I guess you really got me pegged, don't you? Are you stalking me? Seriously, if this country is so bad, might I suggest a nice socialist country in the European Union for you? I think Canada is only a few hours north. 8. It's constitution day today. I thought this would be a good day to remember some of the quotes from our founding fathers. There has been a lot of stuff lately about the legalities of the constitution. Instead of arguing about what this line or that line means because of the placement of a comma, why not just go back to the words and writings of the architects? Of course if we did that, the liberals would lose a lot of their arguments. And how many slaves do you wish to own??? And because there was slavery 200 years ago we should throw out everything they ever said? Way to go to the extreme. No I am hearing all this blathering and blabbering about the constitution as it was written by the architects. To not realize that times and people have changed..and that half of those "architects" were slave owners, most of them were misogynists since their "enlightenment" did not extend to women or people of color, and were the landed gentry of the time is retarded just as it is using a 2500 year old book translated 400 years ago to explain the world and a wish to enforce outdated religious morality on our country. Hell most of those wishing to shove that agenda are a HUGE FAIL since the imbeciles can’t even live up to their own stated morality that they wish to foist on the rest of us. So you are saying "Piss on the founding fathers, the constitution is an outdated piece of shit." Got it. I guess the word hasn't gotten to you yet that all of the freedoms of the white man have been extended to people of color and women. I'll try to make sure the memo gets sent your way, Rev. Wright. Nothing got changed without a hell of a lot of change over those 200+ years... I dont want to throw it out... like so many of your fellow travellers wish to throw out things like the 1st and the 4th..... but we do understand all to well where you are coming from Representative Duke. Nothing Changed without change? Brilliant. Who said anything about throwing out the first and fourth amendment? I'm trying to give context to the text. This is what they were thinking when they wrote it and this is why. If you don't care about why they put in the commerce clause because slavery was legal 200 years ago, so be it. You might as well throw out the teachings of Socrates and Aristotle while you are at it. I'm sure there was something going on then you would find disagreeable. Just go on towing the party line and obey your liberal masters. Everything American is evil because there was slavery in our history. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 12. And yet, typically a person will dig up only one quote to support their specific point. THAT is my point with regards to putting too much weight on any one specific quote. Generally they're cherry picked. Is it cherry picking when you find similar quotes from most of the 38 guys that ratified it? Reading some of there writings, they were more concerned with restraining government than enabling it. They were scared that the government would eventually turn into something that would invade every aspect of their personal lives. This was they tyranny they were trying to escape. You should really sit down and take a look at some of what they had to say some time. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 13. So, you think the issues surrounding the Second Amendment weren't debated? I think they were, and I think that quotes from that debate should be used when debating said issues today. That is the point I've been trying to make this whole thread. People today have been ignoring those debates and perverting the meaning of the constitution. Hence my James Madison quote at the beginning of the thread. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  14. Ironic, since the founding fathers were liberals. So, true... But I would like to stay true to their liberal views of government, not the new liberal views of government. 15. Because there was a LOT of bullshit various people wanted in The Constitution that was either debated out or not ratified. It's "nice" to understand what some of them wanted, but The Constitution is the actual document that was ratified. We aren't talking about stuff that was debated out or not ratified. I'm talking about what is actually in the constitution, like I don't know, the second amendment, the commerce clause, etc, etc, etc.... There is a lot of debate about various articles and amendments, but when you go back to what the founding fathers said about some of this stuff, their intentions about why these bits and pieces made it become clear. 17. Molly Norris has changed her name and gone into hiding after she had a "Draw Muhammad day". This is the kind of intolerance that is creating a huge backlash against the Muslim religion. Until this stops, there will be always be a large section of people that will lash out against Muslims. They are their own worst enemy. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2010/09/seattle-cartoonist-molly-norris-goes-into-hiding-after-death-threat-over-draw-mohammed-day/1 "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 18. Was this a rhetorical question, or a stupid one? Yes, it was improper. How proper can it be to call someone up and say "you've been giving money to these other people - I want some too. Call me when it's done." Believe it or not, I get calls (even from Christian groups and Republicans) asking me to give them money all the time. It's annoying as hell, but as long as they follow the laws, it's perfectly legal. Legal or not, she is soliciting special interest money. Question 1. Do you think she is still representing the average person? Question 2. Would you vote for her? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think if given a choice between her and say a tea party member, if that was the democrat and republican on the ticket, you would vote her back into office. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  19. I'm sure this happens on both sides of the isle quite a bit. This is the reason there is such a huge anti-incumbent sentiment in the country. Obviously Congresswoman Norton has spent to much time collecting special interest money and stopped representing the interest of the people to whom she is supposed to serve. It's time for her to go. 20. As long as the left keeps thinking the Tea Party is the fringe, they will continue on their downward spiral. Yes, there are some real conservatives, but the over riding theme for the tea party is a smaller government that represents the people. The sooner the left realizes that the people are just as disenfranchised with the democrats, which are just as ripe with corruption and special interests as the republicans, the sooner they can start addressing some of the issues. But they won't. They are to busy talking down to the general public because they know better and calling them names like "tea baggers." "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 21. Well, actually it is the opinion of many members of the DNC, it is well documented on many of what you call "RW rags" and it's the reason a lot of independent voters are abandoning the left because so many democrats think they know better than the general public. It's the indoctrination they receive at their ivy league colleges. No I'm not going to provide you links, it is well documented, google is your friend. And your wikipedia link is? At least his blog had a hyper link to a current poll to back his findings. Your wikipedia page hasn't been updated since 2007. there is a reason colleges don't let you reference wikipedia for school reports. Whine all you want it doesn't change the fact that in Aug 2010 Public Poling Policy, which now does polling for the Daily Kos (a liberal or progressive web site), did a poll in Ohio (the state used to find the counties political pulse) and found that if the elections were held today, Bush would beat Obama 50 to 42. We won't even go into the results for who did a better job handling their Louisiana crisis Obama is Bush's best campaigner I don't think I even have to comment on this. They don't get anymore to the fringe left than some of your posts..... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 22. Moronic Americans. This is the attitude that is going to loose the house and senate to the GOP next month. The liberals of America talking down to the average person. Here is my favorite poll. If the election was held again today, Bush would win http://neoavatara.com/blog/?p=11604 Do you miss him yet? His numbers seem to be improving under the Obama Regime... One word

  24. I didn't even bother to read anything you wrote lucky. All of that BS doesn't change the fact that Obama is raising taxes by allowing the Bush Tax cuts expire. He said no one's taxes who make less than $250,000 a year will go up and now he has found a way to back door his promise and blame it on bush. Instead of raising taxes, why can't he cut spending. there are 2 ways to balance a budget. I would be happy with a small tax increase and a budget cut, but instead he is blowing through money like a drunken sailor. Most drunken sailors I know will usually stop drinking after they run out of money though. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 25. I feel more safe. Regardless of reasons, Muslim extremists were at war with us and we refused to even acknowledge it. Even after the bombing of the USS Cole we just continued to ignore the inevitable. Maybe I was just more aware of what was going on than most pre-9/11 because of my job, but we are definatly more safe now. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying.
