Nice work Georger. Your analysis ignores a factor which many skydivers, even educated ones who know better, swear is true and proven: Parachutes are trouble magnets. They are drawn to hazards. Want to find a lake? Drop a parachute within a few miles of one. It will land dead center. They are also drawn to barbed wire, hanger buildings and parked cars. Orange: is this also true in the Southern hemisphere? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

I queried all your girlfriends Snow and not one can recall you ever vacuuming, so I dont buy the story. What kind of Datsun? I LOVED the old 510s. I rebuilt one of those engines myself and put a Weber carb on it. Good power to weight ratio and 4 wheel indpdt suspension. If it was a 510 you probably could have escaped from the cop if he was driving a Crown Vic. If you'd endure a one hour stop rather than answer a few questions about a vacuum cleaner I'll tell Ckret to forget bringing in Bill Clinton to mediate a Snowmman-FBI truce. What is your recollection about the rubber bands Snow? I think their condition might rule out a lot of theories and time lines about the money arrival at T Bar. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Glad to see you havent ceded your Jo duties completely to me Orange. I don't know why I do it, but I continue to search for evidence of California state prison inmate smoke jumpers because Jo swears she saw a photo of some along with a short article/caption. So far nothing and quite a bit of contrary evidence, though no definitive proof either way. The mysterious disappearance of photo evidence seems to be a common theme in Jo's search for the truth. 377 I found exactly one match in a google search for prison smokejumpers: a movie made with that as the theme. I wonder if the photo wasn't a still from he movie...? There are plenty of stories about prison GROUND fire crews, but I can't find any about inmate jumpers. Here is one where smoke jumpers were brought in to relieve an inmate fire crew; http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=336&dat=19870707&id=UAsPAAAAIBAJ&sjid=CoQDAAAAIBAJ&pg=6871,2418874 If Jo did see a movie poster I'd like to know so I can shut down my search. Jo, any chance that what you saw was a still from a fictional movie about prisoner smoke jumpers? Did the caption indicate it was real news and not news about entertainment? What specifics do you recall? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Had the cop taken any science courses and had just a tiny bit of curiousity he would have seen that the hose was a flexible waveguide and ... So tell us Snow, what was it really? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Snowmman too was vetted by Seattle FBI: Special Agent Larry Carr. Because of his refusal to show respect for the FBI, he was denied access to FBI documents and put on a "stop and harrass for any reason" license plate list distributed to local police departments countrywide. Snow might as well be African American or a young Hispanic kid with an "attitude" car. He can drive just about as far as they can until being lit up and pulled over. My boss, Larry Carr, has secretly offered to kill the harrassment if Snow will praise the agency. I haven't even communicated the offer to Snow because I know what the response will be. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

I don't think so. Disgruntled vets had already blown the whistle on fatal interrogations, US miltary ops in Laos and Cambodia, intentional killing of non combatant civilians and host of other war crimes. In light of all that, I don't think a disclosure of SOG ops would be such a huge threat... just my opinion. Besides, it is more exciting to think of Braden holding some REALLY BIG secrets, perhaps ones not yet revealed to the public even today. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Although the Manhattan Project had a world class team of physicists working on it, I have always viewed it as an engineering project not scientific research. About those rubber bands, didn't a manufacturer give an opinion that flew in the face of a bunch of FBI conclusions? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. An excellent point!!! We also still have some unresolved issues about rubber band longevity. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

You need to have this conversation with him again Georger. Engineers don't really do science, but we know enough about it to recognize when it isn't being practiced. I didn't see science on the TV show. I'd guess you are a scientist by training, not an engineer. Correct? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

So you deserted your philosphy class? Sheesh Snow, were it not for the liberal arts classes engineering students would never see any women. What were you thinking? Lots of engineers signed up for a drawing class at my university. I found out why after the class was oversubscribed and closed to enrollment: nude models. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Do you mean rational from a political ethical perspective or just for saving your life? Did Braden ever indicate that his desertion from or dissatisfaction with SOG was a matter of conscience? Looks to me like he was pissed off about being exploited for low pay while others doing similar work with perhaps even lower risk were better compensated. Most deserters of conscience didn't pick up mercenary work in Africa as their next job. His credibility in a court of law would not be good as a felon (fake passport. ID theft etc) and deserter who violated his sworn oath of service. The judge can issue jury instructions about that. I just don't see why he got a free pass. Did he know about something far more sinsister and harmful to the US Govt than what we know about today? One wonders... 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Thunder City's website still says Zaire. It must be tough competing with the Russian Mig 21 and 29 flights offered a lot closer to Europe and cheaper too. The Collings Foundation in the US now offers F4 Phantom rides. I jumped from their B 24 bomber in 1999, cost $350 but worth it. Braden sure as hell should have been looked at given all the federal attention he had at the time. I still am puzzled at his free pass on desertion and other crimes. Let's say he was prosecuted. What damage could he have really done? All sorts of credible Nam vets were making war crime charges and nothing happened. What was so special about Braden? Why were his cards better? As a deserter, his credibility was already compromised compared to honorably discharged vets who completed their tours. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Bless you Bruce. We DBC forum cave dwellers owe you. You actually go out into the world above ground and interview people. Does it really look like Google Earth up there? Keep us posted on the Braden stuff. Maybe you can stir up some journalistic interest. That would really get things rolling. If the FBI didn't take a look at Braden as a suspect then I have to agree with Snow about how badly flawed their investigation was. He might not be Cooper, but he sure deserved a look. At the time of the crime he not only had the skills and possibly even the 727 knowledge, but he had already gone to the dark side and had less to lose than others. His constant griping about money is interesting too, like "hey, I do all this dangerous work and get paid like a peon". You can just see the next step in his thinking after deserting. Better hurry, at 80 life expectancy is mighty short. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Snowmman is actually a warm, hospitable, modest and likeable person. He is very smart, but we all know that. He doesn't show off his brains in social situations. He is quite tolerant of foolish errors made by mortals. Of course, who I met might have been a plant with the REAL evil CIA controlled Team Snowmman all laughing like Jokers and Jackals at my naive gullibility. How could I have been so dumb? 377 You have said this 500 times! There must be a reason? The FBI and CIA give me Ft. Bragg tunnel time for doing my job. My job includes providing "nice guy" cover for a sophisticated team of spooks who post as Snowmman. My job also includes denying credibility to any claims about Duane Weber being Dan Cooper, having RFK's tie, possessing MLKs assassination rifle, being involved in the bay of Pigs Cuba invasion, being a prisoner smoke jumper etc etc. Jo makes that part of my job really easy by promising proof and failing to deliver it. I have my ethics, but like all jumpers, the ethics are aeroelastic: they flex when free jumps or tunnel time is offered. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. SA/Zaire is not so restrictive as to what "toys" private citizens can have. Check out Thunder City, which includes a private fleet of Mach 2+ English Electric Lightning jet fighters. http://www.thundercity.co.za/ Orange will probably be flying CAP in her own fighter. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Jo, Snow is just one guy and, as far as I can tell, he has no hidden motives or pending media projects. Snow has a day job. He has many other interests. His world does not revolve around DB Cooper. Snow amazes me when he continually finds stuff I have searched for and failed to find, but that just shows he is a better searcher, not a spook or team or anything else. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Forget the C 123K. We are going large. I have some Serbs working a deal for an AN 22. The AN 22s are getting long in the tooth and are very cheap. Russian maintenance crews and parts are no problem as long as we have cash. You just have to watch them. Turn your back and your plane gets 1000 lbs heavier with a covert diamond cargo concealed in various inspection ports and gear bays. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-22 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Barrel droop is a big deal in tank fire control computations. Viagara wont fix it. The main gun barrel sags after repeated close spaced firings and that has to be cranked into the fire control computation. Thermal and structural aids help, but the problem does not disappear. Snow's pneumo cannons are immune. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

I took a look at my son's clip on and I think you are correct Sluggo. That inverted U part of the clip extends up enough to be noticed in such a loose tie photo if it was a clip on. Hey, you QUIT? Man, in this economy that takes balls. What's next? Maybe you can get hired when we go into Iran and North Korea on nuke inspections. Maybe Bill Clinton will be chief inspector and you guys can hang out. Seriously, best of luck in the job hunt. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver.
