If Galen finds even one "hot" twenty in his search through Gosset's stuff he and his suspect will have a lot of well deserved attention. It's a huge long shot but Galen is not ruling it out. He isn't looking in pet cemetaries. I don't share Snow's pessimism. I just have a hunch that Cooper will be positively identified eventually. They'll find Amelia Earharts plane too. We aren't chasing UFOs. Real people, real hardware. The clues are out there somewhere. I can say with certainty that although Fred Noonan (Earhart's navigator) was probably more inebriated than Cooper, Earhart's plane will not be found in the Washougal. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Nope. Braden didn't need to embellish to impress. The reality in Nam and Korea for front line soldiers was crazy enough that exaggeration was usually unnnecessary. The Raleigh cigs angle is worth some followup. Bourbon too. Does anyone besides me think Cooper may have been an alcoholic as evidenced by drinking immediately prior to a very dangerous jump? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. I've been jumping since 1968. Canopies got better and helmets got worse, from the standpoint of cereberal injury protection. My old 1968 Bell 500 is a safer helmet than the ones I see today, but it looks uncool and blocks upward visibility, so nobody uses them or their crashworthy successors. The Gaths are a joke from a safety standpoint, but they look good and are cheap so people wear them. I guess it's better than a frap hat or going bare headed. Design and quality can be just as important in a helmet as in a reserve, but few see it that way. It's all about looks and price. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Just a typical throw a bro under the bus jumper thing Snow. Remember? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

The What Would Ted Do? boogie sounds too dangerous for me Snow. I think I'll attend the What Would Duane Do? boogie instead. We'll take sentimental journeys, bury dogs, share historic tie collections, annotate library books, etc. Parachuting? Nahhh. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Ho hum... another teaser. Hide the DBC ball, imply massive conspiracies, require "congressional or federal grand jury subpoenas" to imply that you have something really important... all in an effort to sell a book. I don't think Jo is trying to commercialize anything however. This ex cop obviously is. I cannot imagine a credible reason for the govt to cover up the identity of DB Cooper. When you have to resort to conspiracy theories to solve a case you have essentially given up on rational investigation. Call me a skeptic, cynic or whatever, but I'd bet huge odds against a coverup. Anyone read the Columbia River piloting article? Braden sure makes one hell of a Cooper candidate even if he wasn't Cooper. The money obsessing, drinking and scamming just fits my vision of Cooper to a T. Ted's wild adventurism fits as well. You'd almost have to be addicted to alcohol to drink before such a difficult and dangerous jump. It degrades critical performance and perception. Everyone knows that. Who among the jumpers reading this (who is not an alcoholic ) would drink Bourbon right before suvch a jump? I sure wouldn't. Orange? Guru? Nitro? Let's see if someone who has contact with Flo can get her to take a look at the Ramparts photo of Ted Braden. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Thanks Jo. Please also tell us why Duane would keep ticket evidence that could be used to convict him if it was found. Why would a guy who seemed to get caught and convicted for many of his prior crimes do something that dumb? Maybe I just answered my own question. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Snow's post shows real talent at cross examination, seriously. Snowmman Industries' legal department has apparently joined the forum. They were embarrased by the slip up on expressing Ckret sympathy. Now all posts go through the lawyers. Jo, how about responding to Snow's logical questions about the ticket? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Les Paul? How about Django Reinhardt? Did he git it? What is the old saying about a "shaggy dog" story? I am just amazed at how Jo gets rational people to examine the most incredible claims. Maybe Georger is an exception. He never succumbs to the Sirens. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

More evidence of Jo's incredible powers. We are now doing mathematical modeling of a hole for a dead dog whose orifices may have held proof that Duane Weber was Dan Cooper. I know, I too fall under her spell. I continue to look for the ghost prisoner smoke jumper photos. BTW, coroners and pathologists have to deal with putrid corpses frequently. They use tank fed breathing masks similar to those used by firemen working in smoke. This gear affords users plenty of time to examine every aspect of the corpse with fresh air to breath. I give Jo a hard time but there is something about her that I actually like: her dogged determination and unflagging belief in the incredible. Jo could get an expedition funded to search for Santa Claus at the North Pole. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Interesting article on piloting the Columbia River, info about tide, currents, "bank effect" etc. Georger should like this. The Columbia River is a big deal to mariners, especially at the mouth where a sandbar and big ocean swells can combine to produce deadly "bar breaks." Many ships and boats have come to grief there and the loss of life over the last two centuries is staggering. The Bar Pilots and River Pilots are two separate entities. Check out the photos on the Bar Pilots website. I have crossed the Columbia Bar in iffy conditions and it is waaaay scarier than skydiving. No reserve, no AAD. http://www.columbiariverbarpilots.com/ Be sure to read the attached article. Any comments on its contents Georger? Tom? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. remember i "guessed" the first name of Orange1's rigger, when she just provided an initial. Lucky guess by me, I guess. I'm telling you, 3 reserves! *** Might be easier just to buy a "protection" contract from Snowmman Industries. I subscibe to a bunch of commercial fishing and maritime trade rags. One just published an article on piloting freighters in the Columbia River. I'll see if I can scan it and post a link. Nothing about snagging parachutes though. Still planning an interview with the RVN paratrooper, trying to coordinate schedules etc. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Must be more to his desertion than an extra $800 a month. $800 as a free man vs $1600 as a hunted dishonored fugitive deserter... that doesn't make sense. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

I still have my old C9 cheapo and PC, kinda hard to let go of em. The memories are good enough for me. No need to crunch any bones reliving them with a current round jump. I truly admire the old timers who still jump their rounds now and then. I'll cheer from the sidelines after making a tip toe landing under my Triathlon. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Lew is still around as far as I know. I saw him at many WFFCs. He is a legend in skydiving and holds license D1. Might be a good guy for Bruce to contact. He is in great shape and is still jumping I think. He looks really busted up (huge scars), from a civilian plane crash. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. I recall someone getting busted for trying to export some of those high speed cams to an unfriendly country. I think they are useful in testing nuke triggers. Snowmman Industries is exempt from all export regs, so no worries. Doc Edgerton was a really good guy according to friends who worked with him. His milk drop photos are classics. I do wonder how SF Nam vets view Braden. Did his desertion render him a permanent outcast? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

OMG, you know those aluminum helmets paranoids wear? They have been duped. Read this careful study complete with quantitative spectral analysis. http://people.csail.mit.edu/rahimi/helmet/ Conclusion: The helmets amplify frequency bands that coincide with those allocated to the US government between 1.2 Ghz and 1.4 Ghz. According to the FCC, These bands are supposedly reserved for ''radio location'' (ie, GPS), and other communications with satellites (see, for example, [3]). The 2.6 Ghz band coincides with mobile phone technology. Though not affiliated by government, these bands are at the hands of multinational corporations. It requires no stretch of the imagination to conclude that the current helmet craze is likely to have been propagated by the Government, possibly with the involvement of the FCC. We hope this report will encourage the paranoid community to develop improved helmet designs to avoid falling prey to these shortcomings. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. yeah, a camera. You said to put a camera at the meditation walk. I wanted one that would be ready for anything. Is that one of those Edgerton ones that take a zillion frames per second? I'm getting pretty good on the C 123K flight sim. It is a pig, but with the extra power from those jets we can fly the mission, you know: "get 'er done." 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. I see I wasn't the only one pondering this amazing almost stupifying event. It is living testament to Jo's incredible powers of persuasion. I mean look at me. I am STILL searching for evidence of CA state prison inmate smoke jumpers. I am lucky. That's a lot easier than exhuming long dead dogs. Think about it. Jo has a rare and powerful talent. We need to figure out how to harness it. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
