  1. If Tiger Woods had any sense he would have gone the widow in a cabin route. They are usually very discreet. Cooper wasnt a bad looking guy. Maybe he got lucky that night. Shelly doesnt let Jerry search in any wooded areas where widows live. That's why he hasnt found Cooper's remains. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 2. All these wimps who rely on aided Internet browsing with blockers and all that. I can do it without those crutches. I have the will power to ignore the noise and focus on the signal. Georger and to a lesser extent Snowmman need sharp skirted IF bandpass filters. They know exactly what I mean. I think G may have even particpated in the design or characterization of some of the best mech filters in the world. Since Jo is so predictably monotonic, an auto tracking tone notch filter works just fine and leaves you a lot of receiving bandwidth. When I accuse Snow of listening only to half of what I say I am 100% right unless I post an odd number of lines. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 3. Snowmman and Geoger can stop squabbling. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/gallery/2010/01/04/GA2010010402161.html What a white elephant. Can you imagine trying to rent it out right now? Wonder if they ought to convert one of the elevator shafts into a gigantic vertical wind tunnel. You enter at the bottom, fly for a ten minute up lift on a fan driven air column then exit out the top for one hell of a base jump. Better be sure you will not have an accidental deployment in the tunnel. That would be a REALLY bad day. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  4. Jo is definitely Duane or nothing. Cook isnt really Gossett or nothing. In my communications with Cook he remained very open to the possibility that another person might be Cooper since he, UNLIKE JO, had no PROOF Gosset was Cooper. Cook just thought that there was a very high probablility that Gossett was Cooper given all the circumstantial evidence pointing in that direction and the absence of any evidence that ruled him out. He, at that time, had evidence that Gossett had Ft Lewis connections and could have landed there and easily blended in. That didn't prove anything but it gavce an interesting twist to Cooper's apparent plan to exit very shortly after takeoff. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 5. The naked woman, especially if of reproductive age, would have been noticed by the men. It is part of evolutionary programming. Even the PhD Nerd in Sluggo's group would have spotted her and perhaps even removed his pocket protector... kinda like the polar bear covering his black nose with snow. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 6. How many pullups could Duane do in 1971? There is your answer. As a Ranger trainee I am sure the number was impressive. Wear bright orange garb Snow. Those Washougal hunters are primed to see you as a deer or other game target. How does Jerry avoid getting shot at by hunters? Maybe he shoots first and renders the point moot. This friendly fire problem is one reason I prefer fishing to hunting. I'll never look like a fish to an eager fisherman. I have my APRS tracking beacon gear all set up for you Snow. We can watch your position, speed, course, pulse rate and body temp on the Internet as you trudge through the Death woods. Jerry has already found most of your cached food and warming exotherm chem packs. This may be tougher than you had planned. You may need to find a lonely widow in a warm cabin. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  7. Sure, it uses carefully calculated distractions and other magician tricks but it is amazing nevertheless. People pay to be fooled. People pay to see huge things disappear and living humans seemingly cut in half. Sluggo got it all for free. Why shouldn't he like the experiment? The biggest trick was to not label it a magic show. People werent primed to watch for tricks. Universities run the best illusions in the business. They get parents to pay close to $200,000 and promise to turn their kids into productive members of society. They have run that con for centuries. Where is SI in all this? If the frigging Maharishi can run a profitable university that promises to teach its students how to levivtate, Snowmman is seriously behind in the education money game. Eyewitness testimony in high stress crime situations really is pretty unreliable as can be seen by comparing video records to witness statements before they see the videos. It happens in convenience store robberies all the time. The witnesses even get the race wrong sometimes and see a white robber as black or latino (rarely the reverse). They often see guns where there were none. There ARE exceptions though. I had one case where an eye witness got it ALL right, didnt miss a thing. He even noticed a small knuckle tatoo on ONE finger and that accurate observation clinched the conviction. The witness was an engineer. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 8. I'll feel badly and I would apologise Jo. How will you feel if it turns out that Duane had zero connection to Cooper? You said you had PROOF that Duane was Cooper. Why are you not showing it and enduring all this preventable ridicule? Are you a masochist or might you have written a big check and be a little short in the evidence account? Bouncing has a particular meaning to jumpers. Your Duane check has bounced Jo. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  9. Sluggo. That truly amazing experiment proves Sasquatches exist and why so few have claimed to see one. My crminal defense trial clinic instructor told our class that eyewitness testimony in high stress crimes like armed robbery are nearly worthless. He said if it exonerates your client don't mess with it. If it nails him hire an expert witness from Stanford to show the jury how undependable it is and attack the hell out of it. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 10. 11. They are indeed thrilling. There are some huge wooden bridges and trestles that still carry traffic today. The wooden railroad trestle in Aptos CA is frigging spectacular. Heavy coal trains pass over it nearly every day taking fuel up to the cement plant at Davenport CA. The Highway 1 bridge over the Albion River just south of Mendocino CA is a huge wooden structure. I used to unload salmon at Albion back in the 60s. I never ceased to marvel at that bridge with it's massive timbers and bolts. Federal stimulus money has doomed the wooden highway bridges. Even though they perform just fine they are skated for replacement by concrete, steel and rebar. Sad. That odd piece of hardware that Jo sold at her garage sale was undoubtedly something specially made for ranger tower jumping. That's why we couldn't find it among catalog of standard military parachute gear. It's all coming together now. It was just hidden in plain sight. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  12. It's been hidden in plain sight (with no plane site) all this time. Duane did receive parachute training. Doesn't the height of those lookout towers seem excessive for observation purposes? Duane's role was so secret that he couldn't mingle with military jumpers who jumped from airplanes. Duane should be worshipped on dropzone.com. Duane was the the first ranger base jumper. He jumped from the towers. That's why he talked about them. Jo was on the path but she couldn't see the forest through the trees. Look carefully at those drawings Snow. Somewhere there was a static line attachment point. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  13. Boys boys boys. Don't make it so damned easy for the Freudians. Tower envy. Stop sparring about whose is bigger, thicker, stronger etc. Sheesh. I fly in a silo Georger. It has a megawatt of fan power, 3 440 VAC 3 phase motors. It's big and powerful but I didn't build it. Dubai has us all beat with that monster building, but it's gonna need some financial Viagra. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  14. It amazes me that Jo can't see this glaring lack in causal connections and holes in her logic. She really truly does not see it. There is a stuck logic gate or relay. I used to think if I just reasoned with her she'd see the faults in her logic. No way. She takes an absence of a proved negative as a positive and that's just the beginning. It drives me nuts but I am learning to just accept it and accept Jo even with her wild claiming and total lack of evidence. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 15. Aren't those lyrics from Helter Skelter by the Beatles? Charlie Manson really screwed up by having his gang paint Helter Skelter on the walls at the Tate La Bianca murder site. He wanted it to look like Blacks had killed them and hoped it would start a race war. Beatles were a bad pick if that's what he was trying to do. I never thought about the skydiving interpretation of those lyrics. It does seem to be a good fit. John Lennon took Ranger training in the same class with Duane. Why do you think the FBI had such a big file on a rock star? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  16. Outer Limits. Right. You posted while I was making the correction. Whoever wrote that opening was brilliant. The show quality varied wildly from top notch sci fi to drek. I liked all those kinds of shows. Twilight Zone was the best overall. Serling could have easily woven a bizarre plot around Norjack. As you pointed out he could have been Cooper. A guy in our neighborhood was a local hero as he wrote a screenplay that was turned into a Twilight Zone episode. I don't think anything se he wrote was even published much less produced. Alfred Hitchcocks show was pretty good too. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  17. Beautiful Snow! Outer Limits. These days with individually addressed screen pixels viewers would not even recognize scan synch video problems. I used to interrupt my younger brothers TV viewing by inducing vertical roll or slewing the horizontal oscillator and making the same announcement you made above. I used video synch to establish my position as the alpha dog of a four boy pack. 377 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  18. Welcome to the Internet Jo. Haywire always wins on the Internet when it goes up against competing demeanors. That's just the way it is on this Petri dish. Whether Snow introduced haywire or was infected on the forum is up for debate. Read about the concept of "entropy" Jo. It will explain a lot about this forum and life in general. It will also explain why someone as incompetent as Duane was highly unlikely to organize and succcessfully execute the crime of the century. I wonder how entropy fits into economic theory. Orange? I know that Sluggo, Georger, Guru, Snowmman, Nigel and others see entropy at work in their various professions. Entropy might have been Coopers undoing. He jumped on a very entropic night. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  19. Jo, The reason you get ridiculed is that you do not post information. You post claims without supporting evidence. There is always some reason you cannot post the evidence. Just post it it if you have it. If you don't have it then don't make the claims. Want to get treated better? The solution is obvious. Sluggo and I used to defend you steadfastly. Now we don't. The reason is your stubborn unchanging extravagant behavior on the forum. My question about the visibility of distinctive peaks or lights referred to what Cooper could have seen from the ground and might have been used by him to determine his position. I don't see how Cooper could have made a successful egress if he landed safely due to the intense news media attention. He either died or had some help. He didn't walk all the way to civilization. The help could have been impromptu eg a sympathetic pot farmer or preplanned such as an accomplice with a vehicle. 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 20. Sluggo, Could Cooper see enough distinctive geography (eg peaks) to take bearings on them and establish location? Was the ceiling too low? Are there lights on prominent peaks sightable from the presumed landing area? Many peaks used to have aero light beacons but I don't know when they were decommisioned. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  21. Snow was joking but I have always wondered if Cooper had an accomplice on the ground. Trying to hitch a ride out during a huge manhunt isn't rational. If the accomplice was on a high peak with a CB radio and Duane had a one watt CB walkie talkie ( about $59 in 1971) communications of twenty miles were easily possible. That covers over one thousand square miles. If Duane could see the peak he could communicate with someone sited there. All he'd need is a compass bearing to the peak and the accomplice could start driving towards him and eventually get close enough that they could talk and probably rendevous especially if the accomplice had maps and a signal strength meter on his CB. He could tell whether he was driving towards or away from Cooper over a period of time. If Cooper was sharp and had only a compass he could take bearings on several peaks and that would give his location to his accomplice. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 22. It would be a remarkable transformation indeed if a petty criminal who seemed to screw up most of his crimes resulting in arrest, conviction and incarceration managed to pull off the crime of the century and get away scott free. Why do you think that is even a possibility Jo? Nothing fits. Despite your claims you have presented ZERO evidence that shows Duane was a trained parachutist. ZERO. NADA. NOTHING. Stop claiming it if you have no proof. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  23. Speaking of bearer bonds and two trusted accomplices, what ever became of this saga? http://www.contrarianprofits.com/articles/how-the-bearer-bonds-saga-could-bring-down-the-us/18081 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  24. I did that once Snow, back in 72. She had the glasses and all that. We did a lot of research. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  25. I'd fly that airline if fares reflected lowered security costs. Stupid FAA TSA made CARGO carriers do reinforced cockpit door mods which in many cases cost well into six figures per plane. More weight, higher fuel burn for the rest of the plane's life, etc etc. Any creative engineer could get a bomb past TSA screening. Modified laptop batteries could have small lithium cells to do a powerup if asked and the rest could be C4. It wouldn't be hard to get the x ray image to look OK. Etc. etc. Trains often carry more passengers per vehicle than planes, but planes carry the wealthy. TSA makes a half hearted attempt to control train security but they get real serious about planes. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
